Adam Thomas suffers double blow as ITV's 99 to Beat axed after just one series
Soap brothers Adam and Ryan Thomas fronted a brand new gameshow, 99 To Beat, but the Squid Game-like programme is being axed after airing just one series on ITV Ryan and Adam Thomas ' gameshow 99 to Beat has been axed by ITV after just one series. The Squid Game like TV challenge debuted this March, airing just before Britain's Got Talent during Saturday primetime. The hosts and show received mixed responses, with some even calling the brothers the "next Ant and Dec". However, the show may have not impressed enough as former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas announced that the show had been axed by the broadcaster. It was the first time the duo had presented a TV show together, and even featured an appearance from their brother, Love Island star Scott Thomas. It's a double blow for Adam, who experienced another ITV show axe back in 2020, when I'm A Celebrity Extra Camp was taken off air. On the latest episode of their podcast, At Home With The Thomas Bro's, Adam explained: "When I am positive about something, it gets cancelled. "Honestly, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Like I did [ I'm a Celebrity spin off] Extra Camp presenting, did one series of that, got cancelled. The next presenting job I did was with Ryan, 99 to Beat, and that's got cancelled." The axed show saw 100 people being pitted against each other in a variety of challenges in order to win a huge cash prize of £25,000. After each game, those who lost were made to leave the competition for good until there was only one player left, having defeated the other 99. Caitlin Lawlor won the huge cash prize at the end of the series, with the financial crime associate telling Lorraine after her win: "I loved it, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am so, so glad I took it." Adam's sad news comes weeks after he sent Emmerdale fans into a frenzy after teasing a return for his character. However, fans hoping to see a return for Adam Barton may have to wait a little longer. Last month, the star took to his Instagram to share a photo of himself with the iconic sign, as he penned: "I'm BACK!!!!" Adam's post sent fans wild, with one writing: "Is this true? Please be true!!!" as a second fan penned: "I really hope this is true as you were my favourite Barton ever!!!!!!!" However, the Mirror understands there's currently no return planned for Adam, and he was on set for another reason. Many fans weren't falling for the prankster's post - as they predict he's there for another show.

Comedy@Housefull 5: The more the painful
'The more the merrier' goes the saying. In the case of Housefull 5, a comedy franchise that refuses to end, it's more the painful. The parrot shtick returns and it's still agonisingly bad and unfunny. So is the gag with Akshay Kumar and monkeys indulging in a most distasteful bits though are when women's bodies are fetishised upon—again and again—for cheap jokes. Again more embarrassing than time the gang of ludicrous men is on a cruise and there's a killer on the loose. It's dressed up in a silver Squid Game-like mask and has the slasher skills of the Scream killer. That alone, it appears, is reason enough to give the fifth instalment of Housefull a blood-soaked scary font. But Sajid Nadiadwala, who here apart from producer also gets story and screenplay credit, forgets the killer for significant chunks of this comedy, which runs far too plot's to do with who's the real Jolly, the heir to a throne of billions. Is it Akshay Kumar's Julius, Riteish Deshmukh's Jallabuddin or Abhishek Bachchan's Jalbhushan? The three men come aboard with their partners (Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez and Sonam Bajwa) in tow. It doesn't take too long before there's infidelity and lying and some old-fashioned Fardeen Khan, Johnny Lever, Chunky Panday, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and, later in second half, Nana Patekar all join in on the shenanigans. However, the more crowded the field gets, the more tedious it is for Tarun Mansukhani to keep the narrative familiar and dated, come every now and then, as do far too many songs, which all sound and look the same. It's doesn't take long to figure that not just the ship but even the story is at sea. The body count piles up but the humour quotient is consistently the time Housefull turns to let's-find-the-killer plot with Patekar's dhoti-clad, tilak-wearing Interpol cop from London at the helm, the film is beyond redemption. Kumar is the most bearable of the lot, keeping the histrionics under check for most part while Deshmukh and Bachchan aren't give much material here to cast an and sensibility is not why you watch the Housefull series, but this instalment is neither a 'killer' comedy nor a scary to India Today Magazine

Last week, it was revealed United are not going to be giving staff free tickets to the final. Man Utd ratings vs West Ham as Ugarte awful and Mainoo invisible in latest horror show MANCHESTER UNITED dropped to 16th in the Premier League after suffering an embarrassing 2-0 defeat to West Ham at Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim named a strong team for United's return to domestic duty, but not even Amad Diallo could save the day. United gave fans a lively start, but reverted back to factory settings after the visitors took the lead inside 27 minutes. West Ham picked off United against the run of play, before former Man Utd star Aaron Wan-Bissaka came back to haunt his old club. The full-back fed a clever ball through to Mohammed Kudus, who thrashed a low cross into the six yard box for Tomas Soucek to tap home. United got caught cold again and were the masters of their own undoing, after Kudus pounced on Manuel Ugarte's mess up to set up Jarrod Bowen, who doubled West Ham's lead in the 58th minute. Apart from some bright moments from Amad, this was another awful performance from the home side, as West Ham became the SIXTH team to the double over United this season. The Red Devils haven't haven't won a Prem game since their 3-0 win at Leicester on March 16, which incidentally was the last team West Ham beat in February. Here's how SunSport's Katherine Walsh rated every Man Utd star's performance at Old Trafford... Both clubs have been allocated around 15,000 seats each by Uefa. It's been reported that Spurs are offering all full-time employees a complimentary ticket for the match - a stance that United are not following. The Mail claim that United are instead holding a ballot with a small number of tickets available for their staff, but will see the majority of workers go without the opportunity to watch the club in Spain.
