Kannada prof BV Gunjetti is dead
Dharwad: Prof BV Gunjetti, resident of Kalyan Nagar here, passed away on Tuesday morning due to age-related ailments. He was 86, and is survived by his wife and daughter. Prof Gunjetti taught Kannada at Karnatak College in Dharwad for 35 years, and had retired as the head of the department of Kannada studies.
Post-retirement, he was actively involved in Kannada-related activities and had served as the secretary of Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha and a member of the managing committee of Sri Siddarameshwar Education Society. Union minister Pralhad Joshi, MP Jagadish Shettar, district minister Santosh Lad, MLAs Arvind Bellad, Vinay Kulkarni, former MLA Chandrakant Bellad and others have expressed their condolences.
