Min directs officials to complete devpt works at MM Hills temple
Mysuru: State animal husbandry, veterinary sciences, sericulture, and Chamarajnagar district minister K Venkatesh on Saturday directed the officials and contractors to complete all the ongoing development works undertaken by Srikshetra Male Mahadeshwara Development Authority atop MM Hills temple in Hanur taluk in Chamarajanagar district.
Speaking to reporters after offering puja at MM Hills temple, the minister gave directions to complete the development works within the set deadline without compromising on quality. He also directed the public works department to oversee the development works by regularly visiting the spot.
The authority has taken up the construction of eight blocks of a queue line system at the cost of Rs 45 crore, on the lines of Tirupati, provided with toilet and other basic facilities for devotees lining up to have darshan.
About 500 devotees can have darshan after standing in queue at each block. The minister asked the officials to complete all the initiated works by Aug before the start of Jathra celebrations.
He also directed the officials to complete the tender process for the construction of the new Dasoha Bhavan at the cost of Rs 90 crore. About 4,000 devotees can have 'prasadam' at the newly constructed Dasoha Bhavan.
The minister also sped up the process of constructing housing quarters for 60 pourakarmikas who have been working in the authority for several years. He also told the officials to prepare an action plan for the construction of housing quarters for the remaining pourakarmikas.
MM Hills Development Authority secretary AE Raghu and deputy secretary Chandrashekhar were present.
