Los Angeles, California--(Newsfile Corp. - May 22, 2025) - The St. Baldrick's Foundation, the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants, is proud to announce the 2025 recipients of its Summer Fellow Awards. A total of $100,000 has been awarded to undergraduate and medical students to support hands-on research experiences in pediatric oncology laboratories this summer. The Summer Fellow program provides students with a unique opportunity to work alongside expert researchers, gain practical lab experience, and explore a career in childhood cancer research. These grants are part of St. Baldrick's broader mission to invest in the next generation of physician-scientists and accelerate the search for better treatments and cures for kids with cancer. Georgetown University's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center Each Summer Fellow represents a spark of potential — a future breakthrough in the fight against childhood cancer. By investing in students early in their academic careers, St. Baldrick's is helping to cultivate a strong pipeline of researchers dedicated to discovering better treatments and cures. Since 2005, the Foundation has awarded more than $356 million in grants to advance childhood cancer research with the potential to improve outcomes for every child diagnosed. Southington brewery hosts ‘Let's Get Buzzed' fundraiser for kids battling cancer

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Volunteers buzzed their hair off in support of kids battling cancer on Sunday during the 'Let's Get Buzzed' event at Kinsmen Brewery in Southington. The event raised money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Family of Chase Kowalski keeps legacy alive with CMAK Foundation 'My son and I just shaved our heads for kids for cancer, he collected how much? About $2,200 for these kids, so it's nice to see a kid doing things for kids,' said Joseph Goldman of Woodbury. Food, raffles, drinks and local vendors were all available to participants and patrons. Hardin County Schools staff hold benefit for those fighting against childhood cancer

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Staff members with Hardin County Schools (HCS) shared highlights from a benefit for those battling childhood cancer on Friday. Event organizers said the district's Student Advisory Council wanted to plan a benefit that brought the staff and community together, transforming a T-shirt sale into something more. Hardin County Schools staff hold benefit for those fighting against childhood cancer Thousands of pounds of Our Family coffee mislabeled, prompting recall in Kentucky, 14 other states Daviess County fire crews battle semi-truck fire in Stanley The benefit supported the Addison Jo Blair Foundation in Elizabethtown and the St. Baldrick's Foundation. District staff members participated by shaving their heads or wearing wigs while seeking donations. On Saturday morning, the Addison Jo Blair Foundation posted on Facebook that money donated during the benefit will go toward children and their families dealing with cancer, as well as research into medicines to treat it. 'We are so proud of everyone who stepped up to brave the shave and raised money for this cause that is so dear to our hearts!' Members of the nonprofit wrote. St. Baldrick's holds Coaches United Against Cancer event

WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — The St. Baldrick's Foundation held their annual Coaches United Against Cancer event in Windsor on Thursday. The event helps raise money for pediatric cancer research. Kids were able to strap on their cleats and play soccer. Some adults also shaved their heads for the cause. USS Indiana crew happy to be back at home base 'Seeing all these kids, happy kids here who are out here to support kids who are suffering, words can't describe how much is means to me and I think what it means to the families who endure cancer,' said Jon Cohn of Coaches United Against Cancer.
