'Stunning' UK seaside town with 3-mile beach sees house prices plummet by £13k
Despite boasting three miles of golden sands, a vibrant town centre, and ubiquitous history - this beautiful seaside town has witnessed its house prices slump by 3.3 per cent Famed for its glorious beach, crystal-clear waters, and soaring cliffs - you'd expect this vibrant seaside town to be doubling its house prices by the minute. However, new analysis has shown several of the UK's most-desired coastal spots are witnessing a major slump. As previously showcased with our interactive map, average house prices in Cornwall jumped by 2.2 per cent last year to £293,000. But, not every town in the county saw substantial growth - including Perranporth, peacefully tucked away on the rugged north coast. Known for its wild waves which attract surfers from across the world (and being the birthplace of the first UK surfboard), Perranporth is a chilled-out town jam-packed with things to do. You can spend your weekend strolling on soft golden sand, making sure to stop at Black Flag Brewery for a pint or aim for a hole-in-one at the Perranporth Golf Club. Like any good seaside resort, you'll also be spoiled for choice when it comes to feasting on Fish & Chips. "Perranporth has a rich and fascinating history: according to legend, St Piran, the patron saint of Cornwall, was cast into the sea from Ireland tied to a millstone and washed up on these sandy shores," Visit Cornwall, the area's official tourist board hailed. "He built a Christian oratory in the dunes and the story goes that his first disciples were a badger, a fox, and a bear! The ruins of this oratory, or the 'lost church, dating from the 6th century are still preserved in the sanddunes to this day." Despite its eclectic offerings, research analysed by Regency Living found house prices in the town had fallen by 3.3 per cent over the last year (an average drop of £13,000). Despite the hefty reduction, average property prices in the region still remain north of £400,000 -almost double the national average. "It's certainly no coincidence that some of the most popular coastal locations boasting the most over-inflated house prices have also been subject to some of the largest market corrections over the last year," said Tim Simmons of Regency Living. "Whilst the picture is certainly improving, homebuyers are continuing to contend with far higher mortgage rates than they've become accustomed to in recent years and this is restricting the price they can afford to pay at all levels of the property market." The property ace went on to argue that Brits haven't fallen 'out of love' with the seaside, but are focusing more on cheaper coastal nations. "Affordability has always been a key issue across the nation's most sought-after coastal locations, as high demand to live beside the seaside, coupled with a finite level of stock, has driven property prices up considerably," he added. If moving to Perranporth is still out of your budget, the seaside town makes for a great mini staycation. Located more than 280 miles from London, it would take city folk around five hours and four minutes to drive here. Alternatively, you can get a four-hour-and-12-minute train ride from the Big Smoke to Truro - and then get a 19-minute taxi or 51-minute bus ride. If you're flexible with dates, you can grab single adult fares for around £65. Accommodation in Perranporth is limited due to its size, meaning it can get quite expensive. For example, a four-bed holiday home just 850 yards from the beach would set you back £3,080. This is based on two adults staying two nights, from Friday, June 6-8. Those wanting to explore the coast on a budget should check out The Paddock Wildcamp, located 2.1 miles from Perranporth's centre. You'll be able to stay in a double-bed tent on the exact same nights for just £165.

Bonnie Blue sponsors football club which is 'thrilled' to have her name plastered all over their kit - as people call the partnership 'embarrassing'
Bonnie Blue has announced a surprising new career move - sponsoring one of the smallest football clubs in England. The controversial adult star, 25, became the official kit sponsor of Calstock FC, located near Plymouth. The 17-man squad, which describes itself as a 'a drinking team with a football problem', revealed the new uniform a couple of weeks ago. It changed from being a black and yellow stripy colour theme - which matched its bee logo - to being entirely blue. The name Bonnie Blue and her logo, which are two Bs facing away from each other, are clearly displayed on the front of the shirts. The phrase 'Up The Bonnie Blue Bees' is also printed along the hem on the back of the sapphire-blue tops. Bonnie, from Nottinghamshire, rose to fame after sleeping with 'barely-legal' boys at Freshers' Weeks for content on her OnlyFans and recently travelled to the US to have sex with teenage college students for Spring Break. The porn star also ruffled many feathers after claiming to have slept with 1,057 men in 12 hours. In a bold move, Calstock FC posted an image of the X-rated actress in a white swimsuit and wrote: 'POV. When it leaves the group chat and becomes a reality. 'We're thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership that's set to shake up the football world! 'Our team has officially teamed up with none other than the notorious @bonnie_blue_xox - arguably the most talked-about and controversial figure in world news - to become our new football kit sponsor.' Bonnie - whose real name is Tia Emma Billinger - published the news on her Instagram story and the the St Piran league, Div 2 East team reposted it and replied 'Massive thank you,' along with a blue love heart and a bee emoji. Calstock FC added: 'This collaboration goes beyond mere branding. It symbolises our commitment to embrace boldness, innovation, and a spirit of fearless individuality on and off the pitch.' The clip revealing the news racked up a whopping 880,000 views on Instagram with hundreds of people commenting their thoughts on the collaboration. One wrote: 'This isn't a flex, it's actually embarrassing as f*** for you.' Calstock FC then replied: 'Each to their own opinion and you're entitled to that but as a small local club, we are proud to be sponsored by her and we very much appreciate the sponsorships as we do all our sponsors. If you have nothing nice to say, just scroll on by.' The clip revealing the news racked up a whopping 880,000 views on Instagram with hundreds of people commenting their thoughts on the collaboration Another penned: 'Possibly one of the worst sponsorships ever' A third said: 'If my man was on that soccer team, I'd break up immediately.' A fourth commented: 'Outstanding move - probably the most wealthy sponsor in pub leagues lol. [It would] be interesting to see the reaction of girlfriends and wives when she turns up to the club awards ceremony.' Calstock responded: 'Thanks for talking some sense. Wives and girlfriends will be there too if that was to happen, supporting the club as they do week in, week out.' This comes as Bonnie was 'permanently banned' by football team Nottingham Forest and 'escorted off the premises', having turned up at their stadium after offering to pleasure fans. She spoke about her plan being foiled by security at the City Ground on the Only Stans podcast. 'I recently went to a Nottingham Forest game. Well, I attempted to,' the infamous internet personality said. 'I put on my socials, "hey boys, I'm going to be at the game, I'd like to film with you afterwards"'. 'I turn up at the football game and the gate security was like, "you are permanently banned from the ground". 'I thought when they asked me to go to the side, "maybe they're upgrading my tickets, maybe they want to escort me to my seat, this is quite nice, it's a good service". 'They asked to see my tickets, I showed them and they took them off me, saying, "we're escorting you off the premises". 'Apparently they don't discriminate against sex workers but I was banned because I was a sex worker. 'I was going to encourage them (the players), give them a good time. I also think if I'm entertaining the supporters it's less people drinking so I'm actually doing something good for their health.'

St Piran's Day celebrated across Cornwall
Celebrations have been held across Cornwall to mark St Piran's Day. The event is marked annually on 5 March and celebrates the life and legacy of the patron saint of tin miners. Processions and performances have been taking place including a St Piran's Day Parade in Truro culminating in speeches and songs outside Truro Cathedral. There have also been other events in places including Redruth, Penzance and Perranporth. Mayor of Truro Carol Swain said it was "an honour" to stage the parade in Truro "seeing it traverse through our great little city on its way to the cathedral steps". A brass band led dozens of people including flag bearers, groups of school children and a pair of giant pasties through the streets which were lined with spectators. President of Truro Old Cornwall Society, Bert Biscoe, said: "We very much welcome the enthusiasm shown by our schools for St Piran and the Truro parade. "Handing on such valued and resonant traditions and celebrations is vitally important for community life and everybody's identity." In Redruth a parade was followed by musical performances, free activities, and a Red Squirrel Trail running throughout the town. Hundreds of schoolchildren also joined a parade and danced through the streets of Penzance to mark the occasion. Mayor of Penzance, Stephen Reynolds said: "We've come here today to celebrate St Piran, but also, more importantly, to celebrate who we are, where we come from, where we are going, and this amazing place, Cornwall, Kernow, that we all call home." The annual St Piran procession took place on Sunday at Penhale Dunes near Perranporth. The event takes place on the Sunday closest to 5 March when a procession across the dunes ends at St Piran's Oratory and lost church, the original site of where St Piran worshiped. The issue of minority status for Cornwall was also raised during Prime Minister's Questions in Westminster on St Piran's Day. MP for Camborne and Redruth, Perran Moon, called on the prime minister to reaffirm the Government's commitment to the status. Keir Starmer replied: "Let me wish him, his constituents and everyone in Cornwall a very happy St Piran's Day. "We do recognise Cornish national minority status, not just the proud language, the history and the culture of Cornwall, but its bright future, and I know that he and Cornish colleagues will continue to be powerful voices for Cornwall." Starmer reaffirms Cornwall's national minority status on St Piran's Day
Sir Keir Starmer has said the Government is committed to national minority status for Cornwall during a St Piran's Day Prime Minister's Questions. St Piran's Day, or the Feast of Saint Piran, is the national day of Cornwall, held on 5 March every year. A number of MPs wore daffodil pins, in reference to the flowers traditionally laid at St Piran's cross, located among the sand dunes of Penhale Sands, between Perranporth and Newquay. During PMQs, Labour MP for Camborne and Redruth, Perran Moon, called on Sir Keir to reaffirm the Government's commitment to national minority status for Cornwall. The Cornish people were first recognised as a national minority group in 2014. It means they are classified under the European Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, the same as the UK's other Celtic people – the Scots, the Welsh and the Irish. Mr Moon told MPs: 'Happy St Piran's Day to the hundreds of thousands of people in Cornwall and around the world who are today celebrating St Piran's Day. 'Will the Prime Minister confirm our Government's commitment to national minority status for Cornwall and will he join me in wishing Cornish folk the world over a very happy St Piran's Day?' Sir Keir Starmer replied: 'Let me wish him, his constituents and everyone in Cornwall a very happy St Piran's Day. 'We do recognise Cornish national minority status, not just the proud language, the history and the culture of Cornwall, but its bright future, and I know that he and Cornish colleagues will continue to be powerful voices for Cornwall.' Neither St Piran's Day nor St David's Day on March 1 are bank holidays. St George's Day, celebrated in England on April 23, is also not a bank holiday. But people in Northern Ireland and Scotland receive bank holidays to mark patron saints' feast days – St Patrick's Day on March 17 and St Andrew's Day on November 30.
