Doddridge County Elementary Students sell sweet treats to learn about money
WEST UNION, (WBOY) — Third grade students at Doddridge County Elementary School got to put their lessons about money to good use by running a Hot Chocolate and Cookie stand.
The idea came from their teacher, Staclyn White, who wanted the kids to practice using real money, not just play coins. The students had different jobs, like taking orders, mixing hot chocolate and adding toppings. They were excited to learn while having fun!

'We wanted to do something where the kids could work with real money,' White said. 'It's also a good way to raise money for the third grade class.'
Third grader Jaelynn Metcger shared, 'My job is to take order forms,' while Audra Leopardi added, 'It teaches us how to count money and do a lot of stuff.'
The money earned from the stand will go back into the third grade class for things like classroom parties, fun learning activities, and supplies.
