Soap Opera Comings and Goings: Actress Takes Leave, Vets Back
Here are the latest comings and goings casting news from all five daytime dramas: The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and Beyond the Gates. The Week of July 28, 2025 Find out if any of your favorite actors and actresses from yesteryear are returning to the shows you watch, if any newcomers have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles, or if any popular performers are about to make their exit. The Bold and the Beautiful It appears that a popular B&B leading lady, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, who's expecting her fifth child with husband Elan Ruspoli, is heading off on maternity leave. Her character, Steffy Forrester, told Liam (Scott Clifton) that she wanted to leave town with her children for a bit following Luna's (Lisa Yamada) death last week. Jack Wagner continues his story arc as Nick Marone. His character is slated to turn up during Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Eric's (John McCook) business trip to Italy. Days of our Lives Miles Anderson makes his DAYS debut as Foster, the owner of a local bookstore that's up for sale. He appears opposite Susan Seaforth Hayes' Julie on Monday, July 28. Stacy Haiduk continues to do double duty as Susan Banks. She airs on Wednesday, July 30 and Thursday, July 31 in scenes with Billy Flynn's Chad and Dan Feuerriegel's EJ. Haiduk also portrays Kristen DiMera on the soap. Thaao Penghlis continues his run as Tony DiMera. He airs again on Monday, July 28. Maggie Carney pops back in as Rita. The trusted DiMera assistant shares scenes with Feuerriegel's EJ on Friday, August 1. Alice Halsey returns as young Rachel Black. Look for Marlena (Deidre Hall) to interact with her granddaughter on Friday, August 1. The Young and the Restless Valarie Pettiford is back on the Y&R scene as Amy Lewis, the late Damian's (Jermaine Rivers) mother. She shares emotional scenes with Sean Dominic's Nate on Wednesday, July 30. After being MIA for months, twins Millie and Maddie Ingle return as young Aria Porter-Copeland. The tykes air with their TV mom, Cait Fairbanks' Tess, and Michael Graziadei's Daniel on Friday, August 1. Mishael Morgan continues her story arc as Amanda Sinclair, while Conner Floyd is back as Chance Chancellor this week. The pair play heavily in the show's current murder mystery Vincent Stalba returns as Carter, Cane's executive assistant. He'll have explosive scenes opposite Billy Flynn's Cane, Christel Khalil's Lily, and Floyd's Chance. General Hospital Kathleen Gati gets more screen time as Dr. Liesl Obrecht. She airs on Monday, July 28 and Tuesday, July 29 and will have key scenes opposite Steve Burton's Jason, who wants to discuss her 'late' daughter, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud). Cosette Abinante returns as Scout Cain, Drew's (Cameron Mathison) daughter. The little girl appears in Drew and Willow's (Katelyn MacMullen) wedding scenes on Monday, July 28. Witness the Incredible Horror Transformation of DAYS' Stacy Haiduk
While the Devil hasn't shown his head in Salem for a while, Days of Our Lives has still delivered some horrific moments, such as when EJ was shot or John was engulfed in the meth lab explosion. Star Stacy Haiduk, who plays the seductive and scheming Kristen DiMera, is no stranger to horror movies and TV shows. The actress had previously urged fans to buckle up for her vampire horror short, Brand New Cadillac, in October 2024. And recently, she shared some gruesome fun she had at a horror convention. Haiduk shared a video on Instagram set to Bachman-Turner Overdrive's rock classic, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet. The video was a fast-motion time-lapse of her having extensive makeup and prosthetics applied to her, giving her a stitched-together, Bride of Frankenstein-type look, yet unique and refreshing. Despite the heavy makeup effects, Haiduk's incredible beauty shone through. The post's caption read, 'I was so grateful to have been part of this talented group of artists!!!! When a friend who I worked with on Superboy @rob_burmans_lab asked to be a model for this glamorous monster, I said YES!!! The process took 5 hours!!!. The creators of Rubberwear products, which are rubber prosthetics used for various makeup special effects, are Robert Burman, who has worked on films like The Fly (1986) and Terminator 2 (1991), among others, and Jennifer McManus, who has worked on projects such as The Big Lebowski (1998). Haiduk shared more videos post-makeup application in her stories, where she's showing off the amazing final result. One video was captioned, 'And our wonderful Bride played by Stacy Haiduk.'
