#SHOWBIZ: Chow Yun Fat marks 70 with workout session alongside celeb pals
HONG KONG: Hong Kong movie star Chow Yun Fat maintained his active lifestyle as he celebrated his 70th birthday on May 18. His friend, Hong Kong actor Michael Miu, commemorated the occasion by posting two photos on Instagram: one of them on a hilltop and another featuring Miu's wife, actress Jaime Chik, alongside them. "He is my role model in whatever he does," Miu, 66, wrote in Chinese. "Happy 70th birthday to my most respected brother. Live a carefree and happy life." Joining their exercise routine was Hong Kong singer Calvin Choy, 60, from the Cantopop trio Grasshopper, along with his wife and daughter. Choy shared a video of their outing with Chow, writing in English: "Happy 70th birthday to my super idol." A passionate jogging and hiking enthusiast, Chow frequently appears on the social media accounts of his celebrity friends, including actress Carina Lau, actor Felix Wong, and singer Alan Tam, with whom he often works out. Chow is also an avid runner. His most recent public run was the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon in February, where he completed the 21km half-marathon in 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 33 seconds. He also celebrated his 69th birthday in 2024 by jogging 6.9km with Miu, Wong, and celebrity couple Edwin Siu and Priscilla Wong. After a day of exercise on May 18, Chow celebrated his birthday evening with his Singapore-born wife, Jasmine Tan, and their relatives and friends.

Hong Kong Marathon: man pictured wearing bib assigned to ‘mainland China' woman
Published: 7:20pm, 12 Feb 2025 Further evidence of cheating at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon came to light on Wednesday after pictures posted online showed a man wearing a bib assigned to a woman with a mainland Chinese name. Pictures posted on a Facebook group for runners in Hong Kong showed a middle-aged man running the Hong Kong Marathon wearing bib number 33150, which was registered to a woman named Cao Youxuan. A screenshot of information on the Hong Kong Marathon website said that Cao was registered as competing in the Women's Master 3 category and completed the 42km race in three hours 18 minutes, and 55 seconds. That time meant a ranking of 75 out of all female marathon runners and 10th in the category, but official images show a man wearing her race bib. When the Post checked the information of runner 33150 on the Hong Kong Marathon website, the name and bib number could not be found, suggesting the runner had been disqualified.
