Punchestown day 5 full race card and tips - list of runners on Friday

It's the clash of the week at Punchestown this evening as superstars Constitution Hill and State Man collide in the Boodles Champion Hurdle. It's a fascinating clash and one that should attract a massive crowd to the Co Kildare venue. State Man had the Champion Hurdle at his mercy when coming down at the last back in March after Constitution Hill fell earlier in the race. Golden Ace picked up the pieces and powered up the Cheltenham hill to win for trainer Jeremy Scott and jockey Lorcan Williams, with the mare taking her chance again at Punchestown. Kargese, Break My Soul and Bottler'secret complete the line-up. There are eight races in total once again, the first of which takes place at 3.40, with the feature contest scheduled to start at 6.40. Here's a full list of the runners and riders, as well as a tip for each race: 3.40: 2m4½f Stanley Asphalt Hunters Chase for the Bishopscourt Cup (5yo+) 1 Asphalt Cowboy (IRE) Mr M Sharpe (7)2 Fountain House (IRE) Mr E Mahon (7)3 Fr Gilligansvoyge Mr J H Williamson (7)4 Cosmic Blizzard (IRE) Miss T Quail (7)5 Gale Force Jet Mr J L Scallan (7)6 Go Frankie (IRE) Mr Finian Maguire7 Go Mike Go (IRE) Mr I Cribbin (7)8 Hey Sir (IRE) Mr B T Stone (7)9 Man Of The House (IRE) Miss Georgie Benson (7)10 Sixhandsinmypocket Mr B O'Neill11 Squire Ohara (IRE) Mr A Coonan (7)12 The Blind Piper (IRE) Mr Jack Hendrick (7)13 Eyes Off Annie (IRE) Miss Maxine O'Sullivan (5)14 Keenaghan Lass (IRE) Mr L P Shanahan (7) Robbie Power's tip: Fountain House 4.15: 3m½f (3m160y) Event Power Champion Hunters Chase (5yo+) 1 Big Interest (IRE) Mr B O'Neill2 Carnfunnock (IRE) Mr S Connor (7)3 Ciel De Neige (FR) Mr B Dunleavy (7)4 Dorking Cock (IRE) Mr D McGill (7)5 Francois (FR) Mr S J Butler (7)6 Go Another One (IRE) Ms E Fallon (7)7 Hollow Games (IRE) Mr J H Williamson (7)8 Its On The Line (IRE) Mr Derek O'Connor9 Macgiloney (IRE) Mr J P Sampson (7)10 Ontheropes (IRE) Mr Charlie Mullins (7)11 Ramillies (IRE) Mr Rob James (7)12 Sheephaven Flyer (IRE) Mr E Mahon (7)13 Viroflay (FR) Miss O Nicholls (7)14 Willitgoahead (IRE) Mr H C Swan Robbie Power's tip: Its On The Line 4.50: 2m4½f Hanlon Concrete Irish EBF Glencarraig Lady Francis Flood Mares Chase (Grade 2) (5yo+) 1 Dinoblue (FR) Mark Walsh2 Brides Hill (IRE) Keith Donoghue3 Allegorie De Vassy (FR) Paul Townend4 Shecouldbeanything (IRE) Sam Ewing5 Broomfield Bijou (IRE) Donagh Meyler6 Must Be Obeyed (IRE) Darragh O'Keeffe Robbie Power's tip: Dinoblue 5.25: 2m4½f QuinnBet Novice Handicap Chase (Listed Race) (5yo+) 1 Path D'oroux (FR) Keith Donoghue2 Blizzard Of Oz (IRE) J J Slevin3 Common Practice (IRE) Simon Torrens4 Zenta (FR) A P Kelly (5)5 Nara (FR) Mark Walsh6 What's Up Darling (IRE) Danny Gilligan7 Moon D'orange (FR) Sean Bowen8 Theatre Native (IRE) Rachael Blackmore9 Drumgill (IRE) D King10 Native Speaker (IRE) Darragh O'Keeffe11 Sir Argus Brian Hayes12 Western Diego (IRE) Sean O'Keeffe13 Cleatus Poolaw Mr J H Williamson (7)14 Sea Music (IRE) Donagh Meyler15 No Flies On Him (IRE) Jody McGarvey16 Neveradullmoment (IRE) Charlie O'Dwyer (5)17 Lisnagar Fortune (IRE) Danny Mullins18 Black Bamboo (IRE) Sean Flanagan19 Prince Palace (FR) H E Sexton (7)20 Listentillitellyea (IRE) Gavin Brouder (3) Robbie Power's tip: Theatre Native 6.05: 2m4½f Alanna Homes Champion Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) (4yo+) 1 Belloccio (FR) Rachael Blackmore2 Eastern Legend (IRE) Kieren Buckley3 Final Demand (IRE) Paul Townend4 Funiculi Funicula (FR) Danny Mullins5 Lovely Hurling (IRE) Mark Walsh6 Mr Percy (IRE) J J Slevin7 Queensbury Boy (IRE) Mr David Maxwell8 The Yellow Clay (IRE) Sam Ewing9 Tripoli Flyer (IRE) Jonathan Burke Robbie Power's tip: Lovely Hurling 6.40: 2m Boodles Champion Hurdle (Grade 1) (4yo+) 1 Bottler'secret (IRE) Danny Gilligan2 Constitution Hill J Bowen3 State Man (FR) Paul Townend4 Break My Soul (IRE) Keith Donoghue5 Golden Ace Lorcan Williams6 Kargese (FR) Danny Mullins Robbie Power's tip: Constitution Hill 7.10: 2m Uniquely Novice Hurdle (4yo+) 1 Casheldale Lad (IRE) Jordan Gainford2 Runcok (FR) Paul Townend3 Zoffman (IRE) Donagh Meyler4 Naturally Nimble (GER) J J Slevin5 Deanery Charlie (IRE) Keith Donoghue6 Fiver Friday (IRE) L A McKenna (5)7 Hardysonofdan (IRE) Kieren Buckley8 Khrisma (FR) J Bowen9 Kotkito Bello (FR) A P Kelly (5)10 Lecale's Diamond (IRE) Kevin Sexton11 Sine Qua Non (FR) Mark Walsh12 Struck Oil (IRE) A Balfe (7)13 Between Friends (IRE) Simon Torrens Robbie Power's tip: Runcok 7.40: 2m3f Overlander INH Flat Race (5-7yo) 1 Astley (IRE) Mr B Dunleavy (7)2 Ballindenisk (IRE) Mr B O'Neill3 Can Happen (IRE) Mr R Barron (5)4 Catchintsavo (IRE) Mr D Doyle (7)5 Conman John (IRE) Mr Rob James (7)6 Court Canyon (IRE) Mr D G Lavery7 Eclipse Chaser (IRE) Mr Charlie Mullins (7)8 Espresso Milan (IRE) Mr Finian Maguire9 God Help Me (FR) Mr S Connor (7)10 Kevlar (FR) Mr Alan O'Sullivan (7)11 King Jon Oliver (FR) Mr M J Love (7)12 King Rasko Grey (FR) Miss J Townend13 Lauro's Legend (IRE) Miss Maxine O'Sullivan (5)14 Ma Jacks Hill (IRE) Mr J H Williamson (7)15 Minella Sergeant (IRE) Mr M J O'Neill (7)16 Mondoui'boy (FR) Mr David Maxwell17 Mount Mason (IRE) Mr A Leahy (7)18 Peaceinthevalley (FR) Mr Derek O'Connor19 Riskaway (FR) Mr H C Swan20 Soldier In Milan (IRE) Mr J L Gleeson21 Sticktotheplan (FR) Mr T A Halford (7)22 Trendy Workforce (IRE) Mr J L Scallan (7)23 Calcified (IRE) Ms E Dunseath (7) Robbie Power's tip: Soldier In Milan

Punchestown Festival day 4 tips: Robbie Power's selections for Friday

Constitution Hill is fancied to beat State Man in what is a brilliant clash in the Boodles Champion Hurdle at 6.40. It will be great to see Constitution Hill run on Irish soil for Nicky Henderson. I just hope this time we get the race we thought we were going to get at Cheltenham and they can both stay on their feet. Since Constitution Hill's mishap at Cheltenham he has come down at Aintree as well and obviously State Man had the Champion Hurdle at his mercy when falling at the last. It's a fascinating race and if they both stay on their feet, I do think Constitution Hill is the best horse and will be very hard to beat. Tactics-wise it will be interesting to see what way James Bowen rides him. If I was partnering him, I'd be very keen to make the running and let him go about his business. But I must also mention Golden Ace, who has now won twice at the Cheltenham Festival. Although she was fortunate to win the Champion Hurdle this year, she did fly up the hill and her trainer, Jeremy Scott, does think that she is better now than she was when going to Cheltenham. The Stanley Asphalt Hunters Chase for the Bishopscourt Cup (3.40) is never the strongest of races but the Ian John McCarthy-trained Fountain House has won his last three, including a hunters chase in Thurles. The trainer does very well with his point-to-pointers so I fancy Fountain House to win the opener. Its On The Line has yet to win a race this season, but he won the Event Power Champion Hunters Chase (4.15) last year and is fancied to triumph in this contest again. It doesn't look as strong a renewal as 12 months ago and it looks like a good opportunity for this eight-year-old to get a well deserved win for Emmet Mullins, JP McManus and Derek O'Connor. The Mares Chase at 4.50 sees stablemates Dinoblue and Allegorie De Vassy clash again and preference would be for the former. She does have to give six pounds to Allegorie De Vassy, which does bring them closer, and I think it will be a close race but on the better ground it's very hard to oppose Dinoblue. Henry de Bromhead runs three in the Novice Handicap Chase at 5.25, with Nara arriving here fresh having not run since winning at Thurles in January, while Theatre Native bolted up at Cheltenham two weeks ago and Native Speaker won at Fairyhouse back in the autumn. The way the ground is drying out, my preference would be for Theatre Native, who might still be a step ahead of the handicapper after that win at Cheltenham. The Yellow Clay and Final Demand clash again in the Champion Novice Hurdle at 6.05 after finishing second and third respectively behind The New Lion in the Turners. But I like the look of Lovely Hurling here for Colm Murphy, JP McManus and Mark Walsh. Colm knows exactly what way to train a Grade 1 horse, he's had plenty of them over the years. Lovely Hurling comes here fresh and that could be a big plus for him. Colm decided to sidestep the other big festivals and has targeted this race. He looks a horse with a lot of promise and I know the trainer thinks an awful lot of him. Runcok looks like he could be the one for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend in the Uniquely Novice Hurdle at 7.10. He was beaten five and a half lengths by Irancy, who won here on Tuesday, at Fairyhouse last time out and won a maiden hurdle impressively prior to that and I'd give him a good shout. Meanwhile, Soldier In Milan is fancied for Emmet Mullins in the bumper at 7.40, having won a point-to-point impressively in March of last year. Bet of the day - Lovely Hurling - 6.05 Punchestown
