The themed area neighbours Adventure Land and the exotic Aqua Land in the vast entertainment complex in Antalya. Nickelodeon Land consists of three areas — the underwater Bikini Bottom from SpongeBob SquarePants; intergalactic Star Trek: Wild Galaxy, based on Star Trek: Prodigy; and the open-air Adventure Bay from PAW Patrol. And just steps away is a plush new Nickelodeon hotel, featuring 238 themed bedrooms and its own waterpark-like outdoor pool where you can get 'slimed' for real, Nickelodeon style. Sounds totally retro, right? There's a definite nod to the nostalgia of 90s Nickelodeon. Think Rugrats and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as little ones' modern favourites, such as Chase from Paw Patrol, Dora The Explorer and Nickelodeon's cartoon reboot of Star Trek. I got stuck into the action at Bikini Bottom, my favourite area, which transports visitors to a neon, SpongeBob-themed underwater landscape. The standout attraction is the Fiery Fist O'Fun, a reference to a classic SpongeBob episode. The ride is like a ferris wheel on steroids, fast-paced enough to make your stomach drop — in the best way. But if that is not your style, take a spin on the Jellyfish Jam swings. New Nickelodeon land to open in Brit-loved holiday hotspot next year - with Paw Patrol rides and Spongebob attractions Or you can pootle around the land in overhead blimps, dubbed Sandy's Rockets. Plankton's Plunge is another must for thrill-seekers. As the name suggests, it drops you from a squeamishly scary height. Then there's the Crazy Carnival Ride, where you can battle against your family in a virtual shoot-out. Aside from the rides, my highlight had to be meeting the chipper yellow sponge himself. At various points in the day, each of the characters pop up for meet-and-greet sessions, so you can snap a picture with Squidward or pose with Patrick. Giant pineapple Meanwhile, Chase and the gang from Paw Patrol can be found hanging out at Adventure Bay, where rides are aimed at the littlest of adventurers. It's not just about the kids, though. There's plenty of spaces that even Mum and Dad will enjoy. The Snick Lounge, a games room and sports bar, hosts live music where you can bop away while enjoying a tasty cocktail. For a proper place to unwind, head to the luscious Anjana Spa which is worlds away from the neon orange and splat motifs that adorn the rest of the hotel floors above. Although, you may spot SpongeBob in subtle murals dotted around the space, donning his very own robe and head towel, or striking a yoga pose. There are even more character nods across the main Nickelodeon Hotel, where the rooms are as comfortable as they are vibrant. 5 Wild Galaxy is out of this world 5 Emily Downes meets SpongeBob at the new theme park Each floor is themed around a character — think jungle motifs for Dora The Explorer and industrial pipes for the adventures of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If all the Nickelodeon colours get too much, though, hotel guests can enjoy free transfers to Rixos Premium Belek, a sister hotel down the road that has its own private beach as well as pools, restaurants and bars. Likewise, any guests staying at a Rixos property in Antalya can enjoy free and unlimited access to The Land Of Legends, including the new Nickelodeon Land, during their stay. I was staying in a SpongeBob suite where a giant pineapple housed all the drinks and snacks I could dream of. After a tiring day on the roller-coasters, I would sink into the plush bedding and unwind with the TV (which, of course, has access to all your favourite Nick shows). Even SpongeBob would be impressed with this place.

Star Trek: Prodigy May Need a New Home Again Soon

It's been a long road for Star Trek: Prodigy, getting from there (Paramount+) to here (Netflix). But, perhaps fitting for a show so engaged as a spiritual sequel to Star Trek: Voyager, that journey homeward bound might need to keep going on for a bit longer: it's emerged this week that the animated series is starting to run out of time before it needs a new savior. This week it was confirmed that Netflix—who saved Prodigy from being completely scrubbed off streaming services last year, after Paramount abruptly pulled the plug on the show during the production of its greenlit second season—is about to lose the streaming rights for Prodigy's first season next month, with rights for the second season set to expire at the very end of 2025, on December 31. 'While the future removal of Star Trek: Prodigy on Netflix is disconcerting, it has little to do with lack of viewership or anything nefarious,' Kevin and Dan Hageman, Prodigy's showrunners, said in part in a post on social media about the licensing rights.. 'We hold out hope someone will pick it up. The next generation of Trek fans deserve it.' Although the Hagemans dance around it, the lack of news about a potential third season of Prodigy since the sophomore's debut on Netflix last year, paired with the news about the series' licensing renewal, doesn't paint an optimistic picture for the series' future beyond simply finding a place for the current seasons to stream online. But at least this time fans don't have to worry as they did when Paramount first tried to scrub the show offline, leaving certain episodes unable to watch at all: Prodigy season two got a physical release on Blu-ray and DVD last year, so even if the show is beamed off of Netflix without renewal in the coming months, at least the series will remain accessible in a more reliable form. We'll bring you more on Star Trek: Prodigy's fate as and when we learn it.

Ella Purnell Documented Her Caterpillar Infestation, And Now I've Unlocked A New Fear

You know Ella Purnell. She's been all over our TV screens lately in popular shows like Yellowjackets, Fallout, Arcane: League of Legends, Sweetpea, and Star Trek: Prodigy. But aside from being in some of the coolest adaptations of nerd culture, Ella's latest on-camera adventure has become a newly discovered guilty pleasure — celebrities with insect infestations. Ella shared that her yard was infested with caterpillars and documented the entire experience, and I can feel them crawling on my skin. I recently discovered that I'm interested in this topic when former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay explained in detail that she found an infestation of ants in an unsuspecting location and unlocked a new fear. On a March 14 episode of The Higher Learning podcast, Rachel shared how after her fire alarm randomly kept going off in the middle of the night, she opened it up to discover a bunch of ants were apparently setting it off. "I twisted open the fire alarm. It rained ants... and eggs. EGGS!" she said. "There was hundreds of eggs. They were nesting in the fire alarm. They were either eggs or larvae. I'm not sure." For Ella, it wasn't ants but something bigger with more legs. In her Instagram stories, she teased the ordeal, writing, "I don't think any of yall will be able to guess what I spent my day doing today." @ella_purnell / Instagram: @ After showing a salad bowl and some tongs, it became clear that she wasn't making a salad when she videoed black caterpillars crawling on the outside wall of her house, in the flowerbed, on her fence, and everywhere. @ella_purnell / Instagram: @ She collected as many as she could in the salad bowl to relocate and then provided an update on the soon-to-be butterflies the next day. Ella learned that the caterpillars eat the leaves of elm trees, revealing that she has a large elm tree in her yard. "So, it turns out the spiny elm caterpillars love elm trees. Who would've thunk it?" she joked. Sure enough, the caterpillars were crawling all over the tree's bark, but how and why they went over to the house is a mystery I'm not sure I want to solve. What most likely is a response to people flooding her DMs with unsolicited insectoid factoids, Ella addressed that she is "not killing the caterpillars, and "they are not poisonous as in they could kill you, but their spike are stingers and hurt like ass," based on her experience with them. She added, "They make really pretty butterflies. I wanted my garden to be a peaceful spring time oasis but instead I have hundreds of stinging caterpillars falling from the sky." According to this North Carolina State University entomology factsheet, a spiny elm caterpillar can grow to two inches long and transform into the mourning cloak butterfly after being a chrysalis for three weeks. The butterflies are beautiful, but the way my mild case of trypanophobia is put up, I would've forfeited my house to the creepy caterpillars immediately and returned four weeks later, hoping it was covered with beautiful butterflies. Now that my algorithm has been certainly tainted by insect infestations, here's the latest video I've come across to satisfy my guilty pleasure. Best Ever Food Review Show host Sonny shared a blooper reel from his visit to a cockroach farm in China. Warning: After watching the video, I'm still searching for ghost roaches crawling on my skin. Ella's play-by-play even inspired some folks to share their insect infestation stories. Here are a few: "There was an infestation of caterpillars on my college campus freshman year. They were crawling and dropping from trees. You'd be sitting in class and see one crawl out of someone's hair or all over their backpack. It was so nasty." — u/Flower-Former "I travelled to a cottage where there was an infestation of Gypsy Moth Caterpillars. It was absolutely disgusting. My dog was trying to eat them, they were on every tree and underfoot. One peed on my bikini while it was hanging out to dry and it never came out. So disgusting." — u/Necessary-Emphasis85 "We had a field trip where we went to a state park and we ate lunch under a big oak tree. Caterpillars were dropping on kids left and right. I was so traumatized I went and stood out in the sun where they couldn't get me. Next time I went to the park with my family, I insisted on bringing an umbrella so that I could protect myself. We still made jokes to this day about the umbrella method lol." — u/iwantahouse Do you have any wild insect encounters you'd like to share? Tell me about them in the comments. I'm so invested at this point.
