This Starbucks job pays ₹3 crore a year but your office will be 35,000 feet in the air
Coffee chain Starbucks is looking to hire for a new role away from lattes and fresh brews, which pays upwards of $360,000 or ₹3.08 crore but requires extensive flight experience. The company is now hiring a pilot to fly its plane, who will act as its ambassador at home and abroad. In a listing on its site, Starbucks shared the required qualifications for a captain–pilot–in–command for its company plane. The perfect candidate will have to manage the flight and crew of the assigned aircraft, direct preflight planning, and ensure the safest travel possible, the listing reads. One of the job requirements speaks of "superior customer service skills and a high degree of professionalism, as the position routinely deals with the highest executive levels at Starbucks" It is interesting to note that Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol might be one of those flying on the plane as he supercommutes over 1,000 miles multiple days a week from his home in California to Starbucks' headquarters in Seattle, and "assisting in passenger baggage handling" is also part of the job. The role also requires a strict flying background, over 5 years of experience operating as a captain with a corporate flight department, and 5,000 hours total flight time. Other must-haves include an airline transport pilot certificate, a first-class medical certificate, a valid passport, and an FCC-restricted radio operator permit. The role, which pays over 10 times more than what a Starbucks barista will typically make in a year, wants applicants with an 'image that positively reflects the Starbucks Coffee Company", including 'tact and decorum". "As a Starbucks Captain – Pilot-in-Command, you represent the pride and professionalism of the Starbucks Coffee Company brand and employees worldwide. The captain is one of the company's most visible representatives to the passengers," the listing read.

Here's when you can get your Starbucks fix in Mandurah
Starbucks' latest WA offering is set to open in Mandurah this Thursday and is offering a freebie for the first 200 customers. This will be the coffee chain's fifth WA location after coffee lovers lined up around the block to get a sip when its first store opened in Piara Waters in October last year. Mandurah coffee lovers can get their fix from June 5 with the Pinjarra Road store opening Monday to Friday from 5am to 10pm and Saturday to Sunday from 6am to 8pm. The new café offers a stylish and welcoming 250sqm space where customers can relax, recharge, and reconnect over their favourite handcrafted beverages. On offer will be the classic flat white or Starbucks' famous sweet seasonal treats. To celebrate the launch, the first 200 customers through the doors from 5am will receive a free 16oz reusable Cold Cup. The store also features a convenient drive-thru, allowing customers to enjoy their favourite drinks and snacks on the go. Starbucks Mandurah has a convenient drive through but there have been concerns online about the traffic. Credit: Supplied 'We're thrilled to bring the Starbucks experience to Mandurah,' said Mandurah Store Manager Dan Hambly. 'Starbucks Mandurah is a space where the community can gather, connect and enjoy the little things, one cup at a time.' However, some social media users have expressed worries about the traffic as the new Mandurah store is close to the Mandurah Forum and two sets of traffic lights. Opening day of the Piara Waters store saw cars queued up around the block from 4.30am and blocked traffic in the area. Starbucks said the Piara Waters opening surpassed Hong Kong Disneyland as the largest Starbucks store opening ever in the Asia Pacific region. Starbucks Mandurah is one of two new WA stores opening this June, following launches in Piara Waters, Murdoch, Clarkson, and Ellenbrook.

Starbucks makes major change in rewards program loyal fans will hate
True Starbucks fans may remember when the coffee chain had its old brown and white double-tailed mermaid logo and the wooden checkout counter. Those who have been loyal Starbucks fans since the inception of its Rewards Program in 2008 may also reminisce about how easy it used to be to accumulate rewards points and get free drinks regularly. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Since taking over as Starbucks' CEO, Brian Niccol has emphasized the need to bring the company back to its roots by focusing on its core products and personalizing the coffee shop experience like it once did, which sounded like music to many loyal fans' ears. Related: Starbucks faces huge new rival Over the last few months, Starbucks (SBUX) has implemented multiple in-store, hospitality, operational, and internal changes to bring back customers and increase sales. However, the company recently announced a major change that some loyalty members may not be as happy about. Image source: Getty Images The Starbucks Rewards Program took a massive turn for the first time in 2023 when Starbucks made one of the most significant adjustments by increasing the number of stars needed to redeem free drinks. Although this change almost seemed like a test of its fans' loyalty, despite them remaining true to the brand for years, many savvy rewards members found ways to accumulate more stars per purchase made. Related: Starbucks CEO makes major announcement in turnaround strategy Starbucks Rewards Members earn one star for every dollar spent when paying with a personal credit/debit card or cash, and scanning the QR code on the app, no matter the menu item or merchandise product. However, if you purchase a gift card and reload it or use the Starbucks Gold Card, which only the top loyalty members know about, the number of stars doubles per dollar spent. Another way members could maximize their stars was by bringing in a reusable cup so baristas could fill it up with the desired purchased beverage. This would gain members 25 stars and 10 cents off the entire order. After nearly two years of finding new strategies and loopholes to obtain more stars, Starbucks seems to have caught up to its rewards members' tricks. Beginning June 24, members bringing in their reusable cups will receive double the stars on their entire order per dollar spent, as stated in an email by Starbucks to all rewards members. Although this may sound like a far better deal than the previous 25 stars per order, it's the complete opposite for those who only purchase a beverage during every visit. To make up for the previous number of stars earned, members would have to spend at least $12.50 per order, making it impossible to obtain 25 stars if only ordering a single beverage. More Retail News: Taco Bell launches spicy new menu item featuring a hot partnerForget Starbucks, these coffee chains are stealing consumersStarbucks CEO sends strong message about customers, stock drops This new policy is a brilliant way for Starbucks to encourage its loyal fans to purchase more items in exchange for more stars. However, it also means more money spent per visit, straining loyal customers' finances. Nonetheless, there is a bright side to this new change. Members who usually spend at least $12.50 per visit will still earn the same number of stars as before, and if they bring multiple reusable cups, the number of stars earned will increase.
