Israeli man was the only person arrested at 2023 Palestinian Sydney Opera House protest

Sky News host Rowan Dean blasts attendees of the October 9 Sydney Opera House Palestinian protests, claiming the only man arrested during the protests was a man carrying the Israeli flag. 'No arrests that night, no security guards banging on about bylaws being breached, nobody being harassed for waving massive flags and placards and letting off flares,' Mr Dean said. 'No heavy security dudes exercising 'my authority' and getting upset about people arguing with them. 'In fact, the only person that police did arrest that night was one single man carrying a Star of David flag – you cowards, you bullies.'

Ye's Seoul concert canceled after Hitler praise controversy

Coupang Play cancels Ye's first Korea concert after recent song glorifies Adolf Hitler Coupang Play has canceled Ye's upcoming concert in Seoul, citing ongoing controversies surrounding the rapper, including his recent open praise of Adolf Hitler. On Monday, the streaming platform announced the cancellation of Ye's concert, which was to be held May 31, and said sales of official merchandise would be suspended starting Monday at 1 p.m. The decision follows a series of inappropriate remarks and actions by the artist. In a 2022 interview, Ye sparked global outrage by saying that he sees 'good things about Hitler, also,' and later shared an image that combined the Nazi swastika with the Jewish Star of David in a post on social platform X. Most recently on May 8, or Victory in Europe Day, which commemorates the end of World War II in Europe, West released a new song titled 'Heil Hitler,' further fueling criticism. The track features the phrase 'Heil Hitler' repeated more than 15 times, and samples a 1935 speech by Adolf Hitler at the end of the song. The track has been flagged as harmful content and is currently unavailable on major global streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and SoundCloud.

Police investigate pro-Palestine protest sign for possible anti-Nazi law breach

Victoria Police are investigating whether an anti-Israel sign at a pro-Palestine protest on Sunday breached the state's ban on displaying Nazi symbols or gestures in public. Police estimated about 2000 protesters attended the rally at the State Library shortly after midday, before the group walked to Catani Gardens in St Kilda. A sign was sighted and photographed at the State Library and during the rally which depicted a Swastika drawn over the top of a Star of David with 'Zionism' written on the top and 'Nazism' on the bottom. Later in the day, police were made aware of the sign and have begun an investigation which could lead to the matter being referred to the Australian Federal Police. 'No arrests were made however police have been made aware an offensive sign was sighted at the State Library shortly after midday,' police said in a statement. Loading 'Police will assess the image against state legislation to determine if an offence has been committed. 'Depending on the assessment, a referral may also be made to AFP for further investigation.' Nine News reported police had to form a human line between members of a pro-Israel rally and the pro-Palestine rally as they passed each other on the bridge.
