Thanks to developer Milestone's use of the Unreal Engine and a strong focus on realism, it appears this version could be one of the best received. The newest game is set to launch on April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store). The release date of the upcoming game is set to start just ahead of the real-life 2025 Supercross season. This release date will provide hardcore fans of the sport an opportunity to hop on the sticks to experience some of the real-life tracks before the actual races begin. While the release date is just around the corner, fans can still pre-order the game. There are three versions to purchase. Here is a look at the pre-order offers, what's included, and the price. It's refreshing to see titles removing the burden of developing and supporting a title on the old consoles. I'm convinced it negatively impacts the support and development of the new titles when studios have to provide content and support for last-gen systems. Supercross 25 is the first version in the series to use the Unreal Engine 5. This boost in technology automatically delivers improved visuals, and it can enhance gameplay. From the looks of the videos that have been released, it is clear to see the improved graphics. From a pure gameplay standpoint, the primary push is centered around improved physics. They've divided the category into ground and air while marrying a bevy of new animations and camera movements to immerse you in the experience of being on the bike. Another layer is the addition of evolving ruts. This is arguably one of the biggest additions made possible by the Unreal Engine 5. The track will change with each lap, but I'll have to get some more hours in with the game to tell you how much. Last of the major gameplay enhancements is Neural AI. According to the review literature we received, this is the first time the developers have had an opportunity to attack this aspect of the game. This addition, if it works properly, could vastly improve the single-player experience. Speaking of that, Supercross 25 brings a new career mode that promises to help you establish rivalries as you begin your journey with Futures before breaking into the higher ranks. In multiplayer, Supercross 25 offers cross-play and new customization tools. You can change your gear, bike, and equipment. The customization tool also allows you to edit existing tracks. However, I'll need to look a bit deeper to see how much editing you can do. I immediately thought about building courses in Excitebike. Be on the lookout for the full review. My hopes are high for this one.
