UAE: Jasim Al Haddad, former football national team player, dies

Jasim Mohammed Abdullah Yousuf Al Haddad, a former player of the UAE national team and Sharjah Club, passed away on Sunday, 17 August. Al Haddad was known for his agility and skill, earning the nickname 'ballet footballer.' He was the first player to win the State Cup with Sharjah Club. and the youngest to join the UAE national team at the age of 16. He represented the UAE in the third, fourth, and fifth Gulf Cups, the 1975 Palestine Cup, the 1979 Asian qualifiers, and the 1981 Merdeka Tournament.

The military said in a statement: "A missile launch from Yemen was detected toward Israeli territory, and air defense systems are working to intercept the threat." Residents of the greater Tel Aviv area rushed to shelters this evening after sirens sounded following a missile launch from Yemen toward Israel. Israeli media reported that the missile was intercepted over Jerusalem, creating a state of tension and anxiety in the area.
