12-year-old taken to hospital after falling in Goblin Valley State Park
EMERY COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A 12-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after breaking their femur in a fall at Goblin Valley State Park on Thursday. According to the Emery County Sheriff's Office, the Emery County Dispach Center received a 911 text just before 6 p.m. on Thursday advising a 12-year-old who had fallen and possibly broke their leg. In a facebook post, the Sheriff's Office says that once State Park Rangers were on scene, they determined the 12-year-old had a broken femur. Due to the nature of the injury, a medical helicopter was called to the scene. The child was taken from the park to Primary Children's Hospital for treatment. Park Rangers shoot allegedly armed person at Lake Perris recreation area
An individual was shot by California State Park Rangers Saturday evening at the Lake Perris State Recreation Area after allegedly attempting to draw a firearm. The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m., when rangers responded to reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arriving at the scene, they encountered a person who, according to authorities, was trying to produce a firearm. Rangers then opened fire, striking the individual. The person was transported to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The incident is currently under investigation.
