Caitlin Clark's 'realistic' return date revealed as more worrying details emerge over WNBA star's injury

Caitlin Clark is expected to be out for a few more weeks as the WNBA superstar continues to struggle with injury. That is according to the latest reports on the Indiana Fever icon, who has sat out four consecutive games. She has now missed a total of 13 games this season. On Sunday, Clark was again absent for Indiana's clash with the Chicago Sky as she battles a groin problem picked up against the Connecticut Sun on July 15. Fever coach Stephanie White recently said that Clark is 'day-to-day' but, on Sunday, ESPN reported that the 23-year-old may not be back on the court until mid-August. 'She did see a specialist last week and no additional injury was found in that exam and scans,' Holly Rowe said on the Fever-Sky broadcast. 'Stephanie White did tell us that they will be even more cautious in their approach to her return to play this time.' Clark did not miss a single game at Iowa or during her rookie year in the WNBA but this is the latest in a number of issues for the 23-year-old. 'Last time when she came back from injury, she didn't get any practice time (or) any time to ramp up her conditioning,' Rowe explained. 'This time, they're going to make sure she has time and practices to get rhythm and time with her teammates. 'As you look at their schedule, the third week in August provides a few more practice days where that seems like it's realistic. While she does remain day-to-day, that's seems like a better timetable for a possible Caitlin Clark return.' Indiana faces five games over the next 11 days before their busy schedule eases up slightly, with only one game between August 16 and August 22. Clark is still traveling with the Fever and she was on the sidelines for Sunday's 93-78 win against the Sky. Angel Reese also missed the game after suffering a back injury.

Fever get unfortunate Caitlin Clark injury update for game vs. Liberty

The post Fever get unfortunate Caitlin Clark injury update for game vs. Liberty appeared first on ClutchPoints. Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark is unlikely to play in Tuesday night's road game against the New York Liberty as she continues to recover from a groin injury, head coach Stephanie White said Sunday. Clark, who suffered the injury in the closing seconds of last Tuesday's win over Connecticut, missed the team's final game before the All-Star break and withdrew from All-Star weekend activities, including the 3-point contest and Saturday's game. She received treatment in Indianapolis throughout the break, but remains sidelined as the Fever prepare to return to play. 'She's going to see some doctors and get more tests early in the week,' White said, via the Associated Press. 'I don't expect her to be available on Tuesday, so we're just going to take it one day at a time and let her get evaluations early this week and then, once we've done that, hopefully we'll have more of a clear vision of what it looks like.' Clark has dealt with multiple muscle injuries this season and missed 10 games in the first half because of various soft tissue issues. Despite the setbacks, she's averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and five rebounds for Indiana, which entered the break at 12-11. While Clark did not miss any games due to injury during her college career at Iowa or last season en route to WNBA Rookie of the Year honors, her first full professional season has been more physically demanding. White emphasized the importance of long-term health over short-term results. 'These soft tissue injuries, sometimes nag until you can actually have time to really allow to heal in the offseason,' she said. Indiana, which had high expectations heading into the season, has hovered near the middle of the league standings as injuries and inconsistency have affected its rhythm. The team's depth will be tested again in New York as Clark remains day-to-day. Fever star Caitlin Clark's injury situation remains uncertain

The post Fever star Caitlin Clark's injury situation remains uncertain appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Indiana Fever are back in action Tuesday night after the 2025 WNBA All-Star break, but they are still missing the services of superstar point guard Caitlin Clark on the floor. The former Iowa Hawkeyes sharpshooter remains sidelined by a groin injury that has now forced her to miss two games in a row. Before Tuesday's game against the reigning WNBA champions New York Liberty at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Fever head coach Stephanie White said that there is still no update on Clark's status, according to Chloe Peterson of The Indianapolis Star. Peterson also noted that Clark met with a different doctor on Tuesday, though, White has no update regarding what was talked about in that meeting. Clark suffered the groin injury late in the Fever's showdown against the Connecticut Sun on July 15. Injuries have been a major thorn in the side of Clark and the Fever in the 2025 WNBA season. She missed five games earlier in the campaign because of a left quad sprain. Clark returned from that injury on June 14 versus the Liberty, scoring 32 points with nine assists and eight rebounds to help the Fever pull off an upset. Weeks later, Clark was diagnosed with a groin injury, which she re-aggravated in the aforementioned matchup versus the Sun. Caitlin Clark, who also missed seeing action in the WNBA All-Star game for Team Clark, is dealing with cold shooting as well. In the 13 games she's played so far in the regular season, Clark averaged 16.5 points but shot just 36.7 percent from the field. Known for her ability to drain shots from long range, Clark hasn't been exactly living up to that reputation this season, as she's making only 27.9 percent of her attempts from behind the arc. Nevertheless, the Fever are missing a key piece when Clark is unable to suit up. For now, Indiana will look to rely more on the likes of Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson to help out Kelsey Mitchell in the backcourt. Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard will also have expanded roles on the floor, particularly on offense. Looking ahead, the Fever will face the Las Vegas Aces at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana this coming Thursday and the Chicago Sky at United Center in Chicago next Monday. Fever Coach Stephanie White Issues Clear Message on Caitlin Clark

Fever Coach Stephanie White Issues Clear Message on Caitlin Clark originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Caitlin Clark has had yet another phenomenal season with the Indiana Fever. Clark and the rest of the Fever stars, including Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, have been playing under coach Stephanie White. White rejoined the organization after a stint with the Connecticut Sun. She previously played for the Fever from 2000 to 2004 and severed as an assistant coach for the organization from 2011 to 2014 as well as a head coach from 2015 to 2016. She's looking to lead Indiana to a WNBA title, but injuries have been a major factor in the development of the Fever during her first season back with the team. Clark, widely considered the biggest stars in the WNBA, has missed 11 games for the Indiana Fever. She's currently nursing a groin injury that's kept her sidelined through the All-Star break. White recently discussed Clark's injury explaining that she's trusting the Fever's medical staff to take care of the Indiana star and will await their decision on Clark's return. "I don't presume to give any timetables," White said. "It's whatever the medical staff says. That's what I go by." The Fever are set to face the New York Liberty on Tuesday, their first game back since the WNBA All-Star break. Clark was recently ruled out of the matchup after previously missing the All-Star game and 3-Point contest at the event. Throughout her second season with the Fever, Clark has posted 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 8.8 assists per story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 22, 2025, where it first appeared.

Will Caitlin Clark play Saturday? Indiana Fever update groin injury

Caitlin Clark continues to mend a left groin injury that will now sideline her for a fifth straight game. The Indiana Fever (9-8) listed Clark as "out" in their Friday evening injury report ahead of Saturday's home date against the Los Angeles Sparks (5-13). It's the ninth regular season game that Clark has missed during the 2025 WNBA season and the 10th including the WNBA Commissioner's Cup championship game against the Minnesota Lynx. Fever head coach Stephanie White commented on Clark's injury recovery earlier on Friday following Indiana's practice before Clark's status for Saturday's contest was revealed. "Well, we went through semi-live shooting drills. I mean, it wasn't really live. It was semi-live shooting drills. Still hasn't gone full-speed in a practice or a live defensive group, but she's been getting some 3-on-3 work on her own. I think the biggest thing is she's stated she's not a fan of minutes restrictions. "If there's going to be a minutes restriction, maybe we'll hold her another game. It's evaluating her again in the morning, seeing what she's done with however many days there have been of more loading and make a decision from there. But, again, I prioritize her long-term health and wellness and making sure that when she comes back, she's a 100 percent," White said. Clark previously missed five games with a left quadriceps strain. Clark, the 2024 No. 1 pick, is averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 assists and 5.0 rebounds in nine games this season, shooting 39.0% from the field and 29.5% from 3-point range. She recently was named an All-Star starter and captain by virtue of receiving the most fan votes. The Fever tip-off against the Sparks at 6 p.m. CT Saturday night in a game that will be televised on NBA TV.
