Inside Stephen Webster's New London Flagship Boutique
Stephen Webster at Burlington Arcade Stephen Webster British luxury jewelry house Stephen Webster has moved homes this summer with the opening of its new flagship store in the historic Burlington Arcade, Mayfair. Burlington Arcade x Stephen Webster Stephen Webster Founded over 40 years ago, Stephen Webster MBE, Founder and Creative Director of his eponymous brand, designs with a balance of delicacy and impact, and this contrast is reflected in new boutique. Over the decades, the label has built a reputation for master craftsmanship and infamous London attitude; it's a label that challenges convention, redefines modern luxury, and champions British design — making Burlington Arcade a fitting location. On the decision to open within the historic, glass-roofed shopping arcade, a Mayfair landmark since it opened in 1819, Webster says, 'The Burlington Arcade is one of London's best quirky yet glorious icons. I have spent many years meandering its 190 yards covered passage, finding it impossible to blindly walk the walk without being distracted by the close proximity of the emporium of vast variety of luxury goods on display.' He continues, 'On one such sojourn I discovered the James Bond Goldfinger pop up boutique and bar. Complete with a golden toilet. I was sold. If it was good enough for Mr Bond, it was most definitely good enough for Mr Webster. Very soon we had signed a lease on our new home.' Stephen Webster at Burlington Arcade Jack Elliot Edwards The new boutique, which was designed in collaboration with Hollaway Studio, honors the Arcade's storied past while embracing Webster's contemporary design aesthetic. 'The ground floor is where we exhibit our current women's fine jewelry collections. Our kaleidoscopic window showcases are the result of a challenge we set to product designers: to create showcases as intriguing as the pieces on show. The motorcycle chain driven showpieces have become Instagram and TikTok favourites already.' Leading onto the first floor, Webster says, 'it's my inner sanctum, a place where the background stories to our collections can be told and consultations for our important bespoke service can be held, all in a space that has been curated specifically to feel like our home.' Adding a personal touch, Stephen says, 'I love being part of the Arcade, my favourite thing to do is to lean out the window of my first floor living room and have a chat with Romi, (sat one floor below) who has been the Burlington shoe shine for the past 20 years and one of the characters who makes the community so special.' Stephen Webster at Burlington Arcade Jack Elliot Edwards Throughout the townhouse we see a mix of luxury, wit, and of course, Stephen's signature rock 'n' roll spirit via his artwork selection, by the likes of Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, and Antony Micallef. On the art curation, Webster says, 'we have hung artworks by artists who are all friends of mine and with whom we have long term associations, leading back to the first NoRegrets which became a gallery/showcase for artists, photographers, poets, chefs and musicians.' On the ground floor visitors are greeted by a star piece in the form of a classic Tracey Emin neon piece which reads 'I Promise to Love You,' 'Tracey gave this piece to me because she said it belongs in a jewelry store, a place where people say 'I promise to love you.' Stephen Webster at Burlington Arcade Jack Elliot Edwards The Stephen adds, 'Other works include 'I Shit Diamonds' by Antony Micallef, a poem 'Solid Gold Geezer' by Dr John Cooper Clarke, a triptych by Damien Hirst, photographs by Amelia Troubridge, a target piece by Nicky & Rob Carter and 'Demons are Forever' by Harland Miller.' Stephen Webster at Burlington Arcade Jack Elliot Edwards Spanning four floors, Stephen says the 'townhouse format gave us a chance to showcase the brand in a way we had never been able to do before.' It also builds on brand favorites, as it comes complete with a naughty subterranean NoRegrets Lounge, a fully licensed bar and concept space where guests can sit back, sip on a martini, and explore the high jewelry and homeware collections. Stephen Webster's No Regrets Lounge at Burlington Arcade Jack Elliot Edwards 'Our flagship store on Rodeo Drive in L.A. was split over two huge floors, and the top became the first manifestation of the NoRegrets Lounge. The second NoRegrets was our lounge and live music venue in Nashville,' shares Webster. When it comes to the London location, 'This time around, the double basement of the Burlington Arcade space was perfect for us to create our first 'speakeasy' style NoRegrets Lounge, fully licensed and operated by legendary London bar man and mixologist, Nick Strangeway,' says Webster. Stephen Webster's No Regrets Lounge at Burlington Arcade Jack Elliot Edwards Expect a dimly lit space that showcases the men's line, homewares, and glassware, which just so happens to be used behind the bar. On the look and signature serves, 'The deep burgundy color scheme, velvet banquettes and vinyl collection provide the perfect Mayfair clandestine escape. The house signature drink is of my own creation: a 'Flight of Martini's' served on a flight tray - the three mini Martini's can be selected from our Martini menu.' It's not only a martini mecca, 'We are also proud to be the only Mayfair stockist of the newly re-launched Double Diamond pale ale, as well as a selection of English sparkling wines from the exquisite Sugrue winery,' says Stephen. Burlington Arcade x Stephen Webster Stephen Webster To mark the the opening, the jeweler has taken over Burlington Arcade with an installation, entitled, 'The Jewel of Mayfair,' which includes a 170m long carpet running the length of the arcade, showcasing pieces from each chapter of Stephen Webster's 50 year career: Jewels Verne, Crystal Haze, Waltz of the Wild and Full Bleed, to name a few. 'It is a real pleasure to welcome Stephen Webster to Burlington Arcade — a name that epitomises bold British luxury and creative excellence. This partnership is especially meaningful as we continue to evolve as a retail destination where heritage meets innovation. Stephen's fearless jewellery designs and the introduction of the No Regrets Lounge bring a fresh energy to our historic halls.' He continues, 'We're proud to be home to a brand that shares our commitment to craftsmanship, individuality, and creating unforgettable experiences.'' Jeweller Stephen Webster adds spice to London's Burlington Arcade
High-end alternative jeweller Stephen Webster has opened a signature store in the London's equally high-end Burlington Arcade. After 17 years based in an upstairs studio and salon in nearby Mount Street, Webster, who founded his brand in 1989, told The Standard the move reflects 'everything this arcade stands for — craftsmanship, made in England — we've got all that… but I do think we bring a bit more of a rock'n'roll vibe.' Within the store, glass cases feature special collection designs which reflect Webster's quirky signature style. There are Hammerhead Shark bangles, some featuring rows of individually cut diamonds, priced £118,000. Another case houses a series of seven rings called The ReBelles, each a limited design inspired by 'exceptional women', including pioneering mathematician Katherine Johnson and LGBTQ+ rights trailblazer Marsha P Johnson. The ground floor space includes bestselling collections such as Crystal Haze where quartz caps are laid on stones to create an illuminated effect. The highlight is the Fly By Night bat-moth ring in electric blue, priced £5,750. Downstairs, there's the martini lounge — a maintained tribute the store's previous James Bond installation, but completely revamped by Webster. 'I got my liquor licence, passed the exam — it's a licensed premises now,' he notes. Along with mini martinis (priced £21), there's its 'fastest-growing category', men's jewellery, as well as knives with Damascus steel blades and bronze handles shaped to resemble beasts, including a boar, bull and ram (a set of six is priced £29,700). 'If you've got everything, you probably don't have a set like this,' he notes. Above them is a case of brighter, Pop Art-esque rings named after the 'eighth deadly sin... gossip,' which Webster made in collaboration with rapper Machine Gun Kelly. The pair struck up a relationship after Kelly commissioned Webster to make the now infamous 'Toi et Moi' ring with which he proposed to Megan Fox in 2022. 'That engagement ring became such a moment. It was talked about everywhere,' Webster recalls. 'It kicked off a bit of a revolution, even in America. We thought we'd get a lot more business from it … but people just copied it left and right... [but] imitation is the highest form of flattery.'

Stephen Webster Share's His Little Black Book Of London
Stephen Webster portrait Stephen Webster Renowned British jeweler Stephen Webster is known for his designs that combine traditional craftsmanship, contemporary artistry, and a little bit of attitude, redefining the fine jewelry realm for the last 40 years. Wallflowers need not apply as Webster's collections are nothing short of legendary, and he has a customer base to match, think Madonna, Elton John, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Kate Moss, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, and Dua Lipa who are all drawn to his audacious aesthetic. SEX&DRUGS&ROCK&ROLL RING Stephen Webster Inspired by nature, music and pop culture, his signature collections include the holographic Crystal Haze, the Thorn Embrace that symbolizes strength and beauty, and the Love Me, Love Me Not that line that plays with themes of fate and desire, offering Webster's rebellious take on floral jewelry. Then there's his signature Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll collection, a masterclass in intricate metalwork, following the success of the Rock Star Ring, which debuted in 1999. Adding to his rebellious legacy, the London jeweler teamed up with rapper and long-time wearer Machine Gun Kelly to introduce the eighth deadly sin: Gossip, a limited-edition collection. Expect the hardest of hardware, flex-worthy diamonds, bold silhouettes, intricate metalwork, and unapologetic glamour, crafted the Webster way. His designs, defined by a rebellious spirit, speak to heroines, frontmen, and all of those who are daring, riotous, and eternally stylish. Stephen Webster portrait Stephen Webster Add a little bit of mischief into your London itinerary, as Stephen Webster shares his favorite London haunts, from the soon-to-be No Regrets Lounge to the hidden spots in Soho, Mayfair, and beyond. Bar: No Regrets Lounge, Burlington Arcade This is a bit cheeky because it's my soon-to-be favorite bar: The No Regrets Lounge Mayfair. Which opens in May 2025. I know it will be my favorite because the sister, No Regrets Nashville, is half the reason I go to Nashville. The other is of course the music. The bar has a live music area and the bar specialises in the best of the best American Whiskeys and Bourbon all served and made using unique Stephen Webster glass and barware. Look out for the house special in the new No Regrets: a flight of Martinis, the holy trinity of Dirty, Espresso and Thorn Star, offered in half measure, making sure you can still make it out of Mayfair. Address: 12-13 Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly, W1J 0QJ Eat: Speedboat Bar My family are all foodies and they like to point out that I'm not. I profusely disagree. I love all types of food, especially spicy dishes. My favorite is Thai food, we have a small gemstone cutting factory in Bangkok and I have visited many many times, for over 30 years. Speedboat Soho has a take on Thai food that is completely unique to London. Make sure you order the tower of beer to accompany your meal, you will need it. Address: 30 Rupert St. London W1D 6DL Grooming: Nicky Clarke Nicky has groomed my barnet (hair) for many years. He knows if someone else has dared go near it. He really is a brilliant hair dresser even though sometimes after seeing him my wife will say 'I thought you were seeing Nicky.' She thinks he stands behind me making scissor noises, while we drink margaritas. She is half right. I used to go to his salon on Carols Place, as it was around the corner from our boutique on Mount Street, but this has since closed, so I am now lucky enough to go to his house for my 'special treatment'. (Photo by David M. Benett/) getty Stay: Home House Home house is a boutique hotel and private members club on Portman Square Marylebone. For many years we lived on one side and my very first shop was a street away on the other. The building used to house the Courtauld Institute of Art and be home to the Queen'ss art curator Sir Anthony Blunt. Toward the twilight of Sir Blunt's life he was found out to have been a Russian spy in the 1930s. Unable to face the disgrace, he took his life. With little evidence of the tainted past, Home House is a perfect place for overseas guests to stay in a proper London mansion at a significantly lower rate than most of London's iconic hotels. We often had a Campari in the beautiful walled rear garden. Address: Home House, 20 Portman Square, London, W1H 6LW Gallery: White Cube Jay the owner is a truly visionary gallerist and represents some amazing artists, including one of my oldest friends, artist Dame Tracey Emin. Plus, the gallery is in Bermondsey which is a great area of London. Address: 144-152, Bermondsey St, London, SE1 3TQ LONDON, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 18: Tracey Emin attends a private view of 'I Followed You To The End' by Tracey Emin at White Cube Bermondsey on September 18, 2024 in London, England. (Photo by)Culture: Donmar Warehouse Theatre We are regular theatre goers. So fortunate that London has the best theatre in the world. We love the intimacy of productions at the Donmar Warehouse, but also the history in the stalls and circles of the many West End theatres and the brutal magnificence of the South Bank. Address: 41 Earlham St, London, WC2H 9LX Donmar Warehouse Theatre in London. (Photo by) Getty Images Shop: John Varvatos It's been a very long relationship between myself and the Varvatos shops, New York first, then L.A., then London and Miami. I have an aging rockstar aesthetic and Mr Varvatos delivers that strip. Address: 12 -13 Conduit St, London, W1S 2XQ Landmark: The Natural History Museum As a child my parent took my brother and I to London with some regularity and we loved museums. Probably the most memorable exhibition was the Tutankhamun exhibition at the British museum, but our favorite was always the Natural History Museum. Nowadays, I take clients on guided tours of the Mineral Halls. I love the building and everything it represents to me about my childhood and living in the world's greatest city. Address: Cromwell Rd, South Kensington, London, SW7 5BD LONDON, ENGLAND - A blue whale skeleton forms the main exhibit at the Natural History Museum in London, England. The 126-year-old skeleton, named "Hope", replaces "Dippy" the Diplodocus dinosaur as the museum's main exhibit. (Photo by) Getty Images Chill out: Everyman Cinema, Kings Cross We try to go to the cinema every Sunday. It's a chill out thing. Some Sundays there is literally nothing on but we can't break with tradition even if it is Bridget Jones Diary. I actually go to the Everyman Cinema in Canterbury, but seeing as this is a London Guide, Everyman Kings Cross would be my second choice. Address: 14-18 Handyside St, London N1C 4DN Play: Grand Union Canal A couple of years ago, just to make life a little easier, I invested in a completely hand built e-mountain bike from a niche bike builders Sven Cycles, located in Dorset. I mainly cycle on trails and paths in the Kent countryside but my favorite bike route in London is along the Grand Union Canal. Starting from Paddington, where I live, all the way to Limehouse in the East End. The route journeys along a waterside London life that is unique and a secret to those who are not familiar with it. The abundance of pubs, cafes and restaurants means some due diligence is required. I end with a pint of something refreshing at the Grapes, a historic pub before making the return sojourn. Your favorite place: The White Cliffs of Dover Just a short trip outside London on the fast train from St. Pancras International, there is something that affects people when they stand on those iconic white formations. And when you are flying over them (for me) on the way back home. So much history, so powerful as structures and so ridiculously white. Apart from the snow-capped Matterhorn or Fuji mountains, there is nothing I can think of that is more recognizable or defined by its anaemic tone. I feel very much at home there.
