Should Boston Celtics fans be excited about the recent Jayson Tatum injury news?

Should fans of the Boston Celtics be excited about the recent Jayson Tatum injury news? The St. Louis native has been sighted walking around his charity golf tournament without a boot on his leg, his Achilles tendon injury evidently making good progress. And it is not just what we are seeing -- Heavy Dot Com NBA reporter Steve Bulpett shared that a number of people in Tatum's orbit have shared that the Duke alum does indeed look healthy and mobile without the boot so far this summer. Should we expect an early return for Tatum, or is this just Gordon Hayward all over again? The hosts of the CLNS Media "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below! Celtics Haven't Ruled Out Jayson Tatum Return Late Next Season

Celtics Haven't Ruled Out Jayson Tatum Return Late Next Season originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Despite a crushing end to his 2025 playoff run, Jayson Tatum may return to the court sooner than expected, possibly before the 2025–26 regular season ends. According to a new report from Steve Bulpett, the possibility of Tatum returning to the Celtics late in the 2025-26 regular season has not been ruled out. While nothing is confirmed, multiple scouts have indicated the 27-year-old star is progressing far ahead of schedule following his Achilles injury. After observing him at Chris Paul's elite camp, one scout was stunned by how well Tatum was moving, even if he wasn't cleared for full-speed activity. 'I've seen guys coming back from Achilles tears, and he looked way ahead,' the scout told Bulpett. 'I was kind of shocked to see how well he was moving. Of course, he didn't do any running or even jogging, but he was in great shape and he had no trouble doing his part at the camp.' While no official timetable has been set for Tatum's return, Achilles injuries typically require 9–12 months of recovery, often sidelining players for an entire season. Even when players do return, most are usually never the same. In Tatum's case, however, his recovery is going much faster and smoother than normal. It also helps that he rushed to get his surgery. "I have no idea what any of this means for when he can come back," said the scout. "I'm sure him and the Celtics' medical people have their program set up, and they'll make sure that he's where he needs to be when he does get back. But he looks great right now." At his best, Jayson Tatum is the face of the Celtics and one of the best players in the league. At 27 years old, he's a 6x All-Star, 5x All-NBA player, and 1x NBA champion. In the 2024-25 campaign, he averaged 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game on 45.2% shooting. He finished fourth in MVP voting, behind only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. It wasn't until the playoffs that Tatum suffered an Achilles tear that altered the trajectory of his career. While his recovery is going well so far, there's still a long road ahead for Tatum, who has yet to be cleared for full physical activity. For the Celtics, the waiting game starts now. After revamping their roster this summer, they know where they stand in the East, but if Jayson Tatum can return with enough games left, it'll provide a major spark for them next season. If not, they'll at least have guys like Anfernee Simons, Derrick White, and Xavier Tillman to make things interesting on the court. If Tatum's recovery continues on this trajectory, the Celtics may get their franchise cornerstone back just in time for another deep playoff run. It's still early, but for Boston and its fans, the hope is officially alive. A healthy Tatum changes their entire outlook and restores their championship ceiling. Until then, the franchise will focus on staying afloat and keeping the door open for a late-season story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Aug 1, 2025, where it first appeared.

Two-time NBA champion Jrue Holiday left 'p***ed' over Boston Celtics' cost-cutting divorce

As the Boston Celtics continue to enforce cost-cutting measures ahead of next season, one star has been left 'p***ed' over their decision to trade him. On Monday, Boston traded starting point guard Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers in a late-night move - just two days before the highly-anticipated NBA Draft. In exchange, the Trail Blazers sent back shooting guard Anfernee Simons and two second round picks as the Celtics push on with their summer rebuild. However, longtime Celtics reporter Steve Bulpett has now reported that Holiday has been left frustrated with the move and that he 'does not' want to join the Trail Blazers. A source told Bulpett: 'Now, if he winds up staying there, I'm sure he'll be the professional he's always been and make a positive contribution. 'But he's not happy with this deal. I'll be surprised if Portland doesn't move him on if they can, because right now, he does not want to go there. Reports claim that the Holiday is 'p***ed' about the move - as the Celtics continue their rebuild 'I'm sure if he has to go to Portland, he'll end up going and it'll be OK, but right now they want to be somewhere else. But with that contract, it's not going to be that easy.' It's something of a return for Holiday, who was sent to Portland by the Milwaukee Bucks in the Damian Lillard trade back in 2023. Holiday never played for Portland, as Boston traded for the player and sent the Trail Blazers two first round picks in 2024 (which the Blazers used to draft Bub Carrington) and in 2029. By moving Holiday, Boston lose a key defensive piece and a consistent facilitator who won an NBA title in Milwaukee in 2021 before helping the Celtics win a record-setting 18th championship in 2024. As well as Holiday, the Celtics are also looking to trade two more of their stars, according to reports, as they push forward with a summer rebuild. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Celtics are on the verge of finalizing a three-team deal which will send a second-round pick and star center Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks. Charania has also suggested that Boston are willing to 'listen' to offers for star player Jaylen Brown - with 'multiple' teams showing 'significant' interest'.

He averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 44.3% from the field, 35.3% from beyond the arc and 90.9% from the foul line. The veteran guard has been traded to Portland twice. 'Now, if he winds up staying there, I'm sure he'll be the professional he's always been and make a positive contribution,' a source told Bulpett. "But he's not happy with this deal. I'll be surprised if Portland doesn't move him on if they can, because right now he does not want to go there. Holiday, who will make $34.4 million next season, has played for the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks and Celtics. The UCLA product has career averages of 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists. The Celtics acquired Holiday from the Trail Blazers in 2023. The Bucks traded Holiday to the Trail Blazers in the blockbuster Damian Lillard trade. Holiday helped Boston win the 2024 championship against the Dallas Mavericks in five games. The Boston Celtics will make some trades that will upset their fans this NBA offseason

The Boston Celtics will make some trades that will upset their fans this NBA offseason. Or at least that is the point of view that former Celtics beat writer and current NBA analyst for Heavy Dot Com Steve Bulpett. Speaking on a recent episode of the the CLNS Media "Celtics Beat" podcast, hosts Adam Kaufman and Evan Valenti took some time to talk about the possibilities of Boston making some drastic trades this summer with Bulpett. The collective bargaining agreement (CBA)'s second apron penalties are having their desires effects on the Celtics, and the general consensus is that veteran players on costly contracts like Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis could be on the move to get ahead of a potentially historic tax bill (and the penalties it will bring with it).
