'General Hospital' says goodbye to Sasha actress Sofia Mattsson: 'You'll always have a home to come back to'
General Hospital is bidding adieu to Sasha Gilmore. After seven years on the ABC soap, Sofia Mattson departed GH in Friday's episode of the show. The ep saw Sasha reunite with her dad, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) for the second time this week, following Rogers' real-life announcement that he has been diagnosed with cancer. Sasha ultimately decided to leave Port Charles to spend time with her parents and her newborn daughter, Daisy, who was being threatened back home. Jason (Steve Burton), who escorted Sasha out of Port Charles, wished her goodbye — in such a way that leaves the door open for her return. "You'll always have a home to come back to," he said. A representative for the show explained the actress' exit to TV Insider on Friday — and noted that Mattsson's departure may not be permanent. "There was a good time in the storyline for Sofia to leave to pursue other opportunities in film and TV," they shared. "But she is open for a return in the future." Mattson described her final day on set in an interview with TV Insider. "It was emotional for sure," she said. "Cleaning out my room and knowing that I wouldn't see all my friends there like usual every other day felt sad. But everyone was so supportive and excited for me." The actress said departing the show feels "bittersweet," and she looks forward to the new opportunities ahead. "I've had such a great time, but I'm also excited for a new chapter and to continue my acting journey in new projects," she said. Mattson also said she'd consider returning to soap acting if the right opportunity arose. "I'd have to see what the role was, but I'm definitely not opposed to coming back to the soap world," she said. "I think being on a soap is one of the best jobs you can have as an actress."Mattson first joined GH in September 2018, and went on to appear in over 500 episodes of the show. Her sister, actress Helena Mattsson, stepped in to play Sasha in her absence for two episodes in February 2022. Outside of General Hospital, Mattson has appeared in episodes of NCIS, Two and a Half Men, and StartUp. She has also appeared in movies like Becoming Bond, Jurassic City, and Adrenochrome. 'General Hospital' Fan-Favorite Sparks Return Rumors
'General Hospital' Fan-Favorite Sparks Return Rumors originally appeared on Parade. Bryan Craig has fueled rumors that he's returning to General Hospital as Morgan Corinthos. The actor left the ABC soap in 2016 after Morgan was killed by a car bomb meant for Julian (William deVry). Since then, Craig has returned a couple of times as ghost Morgan. In 2018, Morgan returned to haunt Ava (Maura West) in her dreams during surgery. The last time was in 2024 when Morgan saved Sonny (Maurice Benard) from jumping off the hospital the 33-year-old has the rumor mill buzzing he's headed back to Port Charles. Craig shared an Instagram Story with the name 'Morgan Corinthos' and 'IYKYK' written on it. The Stone Cold and Jackel Instagram account, the official account for Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), posted Craig's social media share. 'Is Bryan Craig Hinting At Return To GH 🤔 #GHAlum #BryanCraig #MorganCorinthos #tease #actortease,' read the caption. Boy, did fans have opinions on the hot topic. 'OMG really???' said a fan. Another fan stated, 'OMG! I'd love to see him come back!' 'Honestly…YES PLEASE,' read a comment. A different fan shared, 'I need for this to be true!' One fan expressed, 'I hope so, we need some more good story lines,' while a fan wrote, 'Hopefully. They gave up searching for him in 5 minutes.' Not all fans were jumping on the bring-back-Morgan bandwagon, though. 'That will be dumb,' and 'PLEASE DO NOT BRING BACK MORGAN!' were a couple of those comments. The timing of Craig's tease is very interesting, considering that a couple of months ago, General Hospital ended an episode with a photo of Morgan and Michael (then-Chad Duell). It's been a minute, but we all know that wasn't just for show. Perhaps that was a tease for a Morgan return. Here's hoping Craig isn't messing with fans and that Morgan's not coming back as a ghost again. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. General Hospital star Steve Burton's ex-wife accuses him of 'harassing' her... JUST weeks after he remarried
Steve Burton is facing accusations of harassment from his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin. The General Hospital actor's former spouse, 48, claimed he has sent her excessive messages about custody arrangements concerning their minor daughter, Brooklyn. Gustin's allegation comes after Burton claimed she was making it difficult for him to maintain visitation with Brooklyn, despite their shared custody agreement. 'In the past few months, [Steve] has started to message me and accuse me of parental alienation if he cannot get ahold of Brooklyn,' Sheree alleged in court documents, obtained by In Touch. 'His messages are almost daily and are harassing.' Responding to the filing, Burton's attorney, Sarah C Clark, told Us Weekly: 'Steve maintains that Sheree's allegations are categorically false. He has, and will continue to, act in the best interests of the parties' daughter, Brooklyn, which includes ensuring there is frequent and continuing contact with both parents.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. She continued, 'On May 12, 2025, the Court heard the evidence loud and clear and granted Steve additional custodial time with Brooklyn that Sheree was unwilling to provide.' Earlier, Steve submitted a claim stating that Gustin was interfering with his ability to see Brooklyn. He also alleged that Gustin has repeatedly disrespected his wife Michelle Lundstrom, who he married earlier this month. 'Sheree has seemingly forgotten how our family ended up in this situation. It was Sheree who had an extramarital affair, became pregnant with another man's child and immediately moved him into her home after our separation, without informing me she would be doing so,' Steve claimed in the court documents. He added: 'Early on in my relationship with Michelle, Sheree began to refuse to call Michelle by her name and instead referred to her as "the girl" in an effort to downplay her role in my life. In one text message exchange, Sheree stated, in part, as follows, "Michelle is not your family or our kids" family lol. She is your girlfriend.' 'Sheree made it clear to me that she did not want Brooklyn to spend time with me if Michelle or her daughters were present,' Steve claimed. 'When Michelle and her daughters were in town Sheree would make it difficult for me to exercise custodial time with Brooklyn when I was in California. All of my requests were met with resistance. Sheree would tell me my requested time did not work or they were busy, despite providing her with ample notice.' Steve filed for divorce in July 2022 after two decades of marriage. The split came a few months after they publicly announced their separation and that Sheree was expecting a child with another man. An Orange County Superior Court judge ordered the M3 fitness trainer to pay his ex-wife $10K/month in child support for co-parenting their only underage child, 10-year-old daughter Brooklyn. In May, he and Lundstrom tied the knot at Orthodox church in Laguna Beach, California. 'This day isn't just about a ceremony. It's the beginning of forever with the love of my life,' Burton told People. 'Honestly, I've never felt so loved and cared for in my entire life. I'm incredibly grateful to have her by my side. She is the most amazing, beautiful, and selfless woman I've ever known. I love her so much.' Michelle and Burton were only engaged for four months before their intimate nuptials, and he 'proved that fairy tale love truly exists.' 'He's like pure sunshine — always uplifting, endlessly caring. His love makes me a better person every single day,' Lundstrom gushed. 'To have the most incredible man I've ever known by my side forever brings me so much peace and happiness. He is the love of my life, and I feel so blessed to call him mine.' The two-time Daytime Emmy winner invited 45 guests to their seaside reception and candlelight dinner at Montage Laguna Beach, including his General Hospital castmates Jonathan Jackson and Lisa Vultaggio. Steve's three children - daughter Makena, 21; son Jack, 19; and daughter Brooklyn, 10 - with ex-wife Sheree Amador were in the wedding party as were Michelle's two daughters - Lilah, 14; and Hannah, 10 - from a prior relationship. The newlyweds went on to honeymoon in Maui following their 'dream-like celebration filled with so much love.' Steve has portrayed Jason Morgan on/off between 1991-2012 and 2017-2021 and 2024-2025 on long-running soap opera General Hospital, which airs weekdays on ABC. Michelle is a full-blown influencer, frequently sharing recipes and doing paid partnerships for brands like Drip EZ, Hal's New York, and Good Culture. In 2023, Lundstrom was the fifth contestant eliminated off the second season of Netflix competition Barbecue Showdown, which was won by Iowa pitmaster Thyron Mathews.
