Steve Falla to be Guernsey's interim external relations lead
Deputy Steve Falla has been given interim responsibility for external relations and constitutional affairs, Guernsey's Policy and Resources Committee (P&R) has role had previously been held for nine years by Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq who was arrested last week on suspicion of telecommunications Police said Le Tocq had been released without charge and it would not be providing a "running commentary" on the remaining members of P&R have since "unanimously agreed" Le Tocq will not participate in any committee business while the investigation is ongoing. 'Change in circumstances' The committee had initially said its members would share the responsibility for external in a new statement, P&R said Falla would fulfil the role for "for the time being" as it was "a requirement under the rules of procedure to have a lead member".It said that it had "revisited this matter" at a meeting on 25 July "because of the change in circumstances regarding active membership of the committee."In June Falla finished fourth in Guernsey's general election with 9,017 votes.

Guernsey's Policy and Resources Committee appoints Steve Falla as interim External Relations Lead
Deputy Steve Falla has been appointed as Guernsey's interim Lead Member for External Relations and Constitutional Affairs. The decision has been made by the remaining politicians on the island's Policy and Resources Committee following Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq's arrest on suspicion of telecommunications offences. Guernsey Police have since released Le Tocq, no charges have been made and enquiries continue - he has been taken off all committee business by Policy and Resources while the investigation is ongoing. The States of Guernsey says it is a requirement under the Rules of Procedure for a Lead Member to be in post, hence Falla's appointment. Falla was re-elected in June with the fourth most public votes and then appointed to the island's top political committee unopposed.

New members elected to Guernsey's Policy & Resources Committee
The States of Guernsey has elected four new members to the island's most senior Gavin St Pier, Steve Falla, Charles Parkinson and Jonathan Le Tocq were appointed to the Policy and Resources Committee (P&R) following a the four members, newly minted P&R President Lindsay de Sausmarez said they brought a lot of experience to the Tocq received 35 votes, St Pier and Parkinson received 31 each and Falla got 30 votes. The four new members of P&R will earn about £60,000 a year for the position. It was expected Le Tocq would act as lead on external relations for the committee, while Parkinson was expected to be appointed as lead for the review of tax Pier, the former treasury and resources minister, was tipped to act as treasury president of the Committee for Economic Development Neil Inder proposed the candidates for membership of P&R should answer questions from returning deputy Sarah Hansmann-Rouxel said there was no need for them to face questions, as P&R members were not like committee presidents in their responsibilities. Former Scrutiny Management Committee president Yvonne Burford agreed with Hansmann-Rouxel. Inder's proposal was defeated after it received only 11 votes.
