LSU football hosts ex-Florida commit on a visit this weekend

LSU football hosts ex-Florida commit on a visit this weekend LSU football is set to host one of the nation's top safeties on an official visit this weekend. According to On3's Steve Wiltfong, four-star Devin Jackson lined up a visit to LSU on May 31. The visit will be the first of five official trips, followed by Miami, Oregon, Penn State, and Nebraska. Jackson, a member of the 2026 class, is a Florida native and ranks as the No. 215 overall recruit and No. 23 safety in the class, per the On3 Industry Rankings. Jackson was once committed to Florida, but the Gators could be out of the race after being absent on Jackson's official visit list. LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond was at Florida in 2023 and was a member of the Gators' staff when UF initially offered Jackson. That relationship could pay off for LSU as Jackson's recruitment heats up. Raymond is considered one of the top recruiters in college football and has a history of landing elite secondary talent from Florida. LSU football's 2026 class ranks No. 2 in the country, headlined by five-stars Tristen Keys and Richard Anderson. Jackson would be the third blue-chip safety to join LSU's class. That's big after LSU missed on Louisiana native Blaine Bradford, who committed to Ohio State earlier this year.

Five-star LSU football commit visiting Miami. Should LSU be concerned?

LSU football's top 2026 recruit is set to visit Miami. According to On3's Steve Wiltfong five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys scheduled an official visit to Miami on May 31. This will be keys second stop at Miami in recent months after the five-star product took a visit in April. Per the On3 Industry Rankings, Keys is the No. 4 ranked player in the class and No. 1 overall wide receiver. Advertisement LSU fans shouldn't panic, though. It's normal for recruits to let the official visit process play out, even if they're already committed to another school. Keys is a top talent and schools will push to flip until pen hits paper. Look for Ole Miss to remain in pursuit of the Mississippi native, too. But LSU remains in a good spot. Keys isn't the only blue-chip receiver committed to LSU. The Tigers also hold pledges from Kenny Darby and Jabari Mack. The three recently took the field for a workout together. LSU's 2026 recruiting class currently ranks No. 1 in the country. Keys is one of two five-stars in the class, joined by defensive linemen Richard Anderson. This article originally appeared on LSU Wire: Top LSU football commit schedules official visit with Miami

On3 drops major recruiting prediction as LSU looks to add five-star recruit

On3 drops major recruiting prediction as LSU looks to add five-star recruit On3's Steve Wiltfong made a prediction Monday for LSU football to land a commitment from 2026 offensive lineman Darius Gray. He takes an official visit to Baton Rouge on June 14 and it appears the relationship is trending in the right direction. The five-star prospect has seven official visits remaining on his schedule during May and June, including to Tennessee, Auburn, South Carolina and reigning national champions Ohio State. The Tigers and Gamecocks lead the pack as the favorites, according to On3's Prediction Machine. Gray, the top interior offensive lineman in the 2026 cycle, would add to the SEC's top recruiting class, according to On3's Industry Rankings. He would be the third offensive line commitment, joining Jalen Chapman and Brysten Martinez. Head coach Brian Kelly's staff continues to develop NFL-ready talent in the trenches, the latest being top-five NFL Draft pick Will Campbell. Gray would add to the legacy and further bolster what could be the best class of Kelly's tenure at LSU.

Notre Dame football is trending for 4-star 2026 Florida safety

Notre Dame football is trending for 4-star 2026 Florida safety Notre Dame football was on a bit of a heater in recruiting a few weeks ago, and while it's cooled off with the commitments, it hasn't with players favoring the Irish. On Thursday, On3's Steve Wiltfong put in a prediction that Notre Dame would land Florida 2026 safety Ayden Pouncey. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 160-pound prospect is a bit on the lighter side for the position, but has the frame to add plenty of weight to physically handle the back end of a defense. Pouncey is ranked as the No. 140 overall prospect by the 247Sports Composite Rankings, putting him firmly in the 4-star range. He does have multiple official visits set up over the next few months, and will be in South Bend starting June 13th. Football runs in the family, as his brother Ethan played for the Florida Gators, and his other brother, Jordan also played for the Gators and the Texas Longhorns. Notre Dame has recently started to go after more prospects with football bloodlines, and if Wiltfong is correct, another would be on the way to the Irish.
