New on Hulu in June 2025 — all the new shows and movies to watch

Hard to believe it's almost June already, which means Hulu is gearing up with a fresh batch of new shows and movies to dive into this month. The biggest buzz is around the return of 'The Bear' for its highly anticipated fourth season, which is bound to have even more kitchen chaos and emotional intensity. On the movie front, there's the fresh movie release 'Predator: Killer of Killers' and the supernatural thriller 'Presence.' Below, I've rounded up my top picks among what's new on Hulu in June 2025, along with a complete list of everything new arriving (and what's leaving the streaming service) so you can plan your watchlist without missing a beat. 'Presence' is one of the most quietly original movies I've seen in a while. If you missed its limited run back in January, now's a good time to watch — especially if you're into supernatural thrillers that do something a little different. Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the entire movie is told from the point of view of the unseen entity haunting a house. Yep, the camera is the ghost. The movie begins with an ordinary family moving into a sleek new house that looks picture-perfect on the outside. But underneath the surface, things are already unraveling. The parents are barely holding their marriage together, the son is a rising swim star who's letting it go to his head, and the daughter is quietly falling apart after losing a close friend. As the family's tension builds, so does the sense that something isn't right in the house. The big question becomes not just what this presence wants, but why it's here in the first place. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Stream on Hulu from June 3 If you're an 'Alien' or 'Predator' fan like me, this is seriously the year to be excited. Not only are we getting 'Alien: Earth' in a few months, but there are two new 'Predator' movies on the way: 'Predator: Killer of Killers' and 'Predator: Badlands.' And while both sound promising, 'Killer of Killers' is the one I've got my eye on — it's got a seriously cool animation style that already sets it apart from anything we've seen in the franchise before. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, 'Predator: Killer of Killers weaves together three distinct storylines: a Viking warrior leading her son on a revenge-fueled journey, a ninja in feudal Japan who clashes with his samurai brother over a brutal power struggle, and a WWII pilot who stumbles upon an ominous aerial threat while on a mission. This upcoming animated movie is crashing onto Hulu in just over a week, and the new trailer offers a glimpse of the chaos and bloodshed that's coming with it. Stream on Hulu from June 6 Ready to dive back into the heat of Chicago's most chaotic kitchen? 'The Bear' season 4 will soon arrive, bringing us back into the high-stress world of Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) and his relentless pursuit of culinary perfection alongside a team that's just as unpredictable as the food they serve. When we last left off, Carmy's newly launched fine-dining restaurant had just gotten a lukewarm review from the Chicago Tribune. On top of that, his right-hand chef, Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), is at a crossroads after quietly receiving a tempting offer from a rival restaurant. Beyond all the chaos at work, season 4 will likely dive deeper into Carmy's personal battles, exploring the tension with Richie and the unfinished business he still has with Claire. Check out this great movie before it leaves Amazon Prime Video next week (May 2025)

Few directors went on a more impressive run through the late 1990s and early 2000s than Steven Soderbergh. In addition to winning the Oscar for Best Director and helming Ocean's Eleven, Soderbergh made several smaller movies that have stood the test of time. The greatest example is 1998's Out of Sight, a charming thriller starring George Clooney as a bank robber who finds himself in a hugely flirtatious relationship with Jennifer Lopez's Karen Sisco, a federal marshal looking to arrest him. Here are three reasons Out of Sight still hits more than 25 years later. Recommended Videos Lopez and Clooney have remarkable chemistry Although Out of Sight has elements of a great action movie, it is first and foremost a love story that heavily relies on the chemistry between Clooney and Lopez. Thankfully, both actors are more than up to the task. Clooney is playing exactly the kind of character you'd expect — a charming, slightly sleazy guy who is smarter than he lets on. Meanwhile, Lopez plays Sisco tough, but she's charmed by Clooney's thief long before she's willing to admit that to herself. Every scene they share is electric, the kind of onscreen chemistry that almost leaves the viewer tingling as they watch it. The supporting cast is excellent Although Clooney and Lopez deserve a lot of credit for the work they do here, Soderbergh assembled an incredible supporting cast to surround them. We've got Ving Rhames in his prime, a frazzled Steve Zahn, as well as Dennis Farina, Albert Brooks, and, maybe most importantly, Don Cheadle. On top of feeling like a cast filled with people who you might see on the street, the chemistry between every member of the cast is exceptional. Out of Sight was not the kind of movie that was destined to top the box office, but it's filled with recognizable faces anyway. Soderbergh knows exactly what he's doing In the past decade, Soderbergh has spent most of his time experimenting with different kinds of storytelling, and more power to him. In the 1990s and 2000s, though, there was no one more capable of combining action, comedy, and romance to deliver something utterly satisfying. That's exactly what he does with Out of Sight, a movie that is not about anything particularly complicated or emotional. Nevertheless, it's such an utterly satisfying movie and one that knows exactly how to achieve a perfect tonal balance. After watching, you feel like it's a masterpiece. You can watch Out of Sight on Amazon Prime Video.

Steven Soderbergh Talks About Steven Spielberg's JAWS and Why It's the Most Disruptive Movie Ever Made — GeekTyrant

Steven Soderbergh has made his fair share of bold, disruptive films with Sex, Lies, and Videotape , Traffic , and Contagion , but when it comes to the most disruptive film ever made? For him, it's not even a contest. It's Jaws . On the occasion of the film's 50th anniversary, Soderbergh sat down with Deadline to unpack exactly why Spielberg's 1975 shark thriller not only redefined cinema but proved Spielberg is, without question, the greatest director of all time. Soderbergh was only 12 when Jaws hit theaters, but he left that first screening with two questions rattling around in his head: 'What does 'directed by' mean? And who is Steven Spielberg?' The answers would shape his career. 'It was probably the moviest movie I'd ever seen at that point,' Soderbergh recalled, 'this incredibly combustible combination of super-high concept and bravura filmmaking.' But it wasn't just the terror of the shark or the suspenseful set pieces that blew his mind. 'What separates it from most movies before or since is the character work,' he said. 'When you look at how the narrative of the movie is built... it's just a model of movie storytelling.' He cites the USS Indianapolis scene, which is nine unbroken minutes of three men sitting in a boat as one of the boldest moves in film history. 'Can you imagine, in the middle of a Star Wars movie, a nine-minute dialogue scene? It's unthinkable.' That monologue, delivered by Robert Shaw's Quint, didn't even exist in the original Peter Benchley novel. The book was packed with soapy subplots, including an affair between Hooper and Brody's wife, that screenwriter Carl Gottlieb tossed out. The filmmakers reshaped the narrative around the primal terror of the shark, the uneasy camaraderie of the three leads, and, in Soderbergh's words, 'a totally unique talent blowing up.' As Soderbergh explained, Jaws was a perfect storm of risk and genius. 'They were out there in the middle of a f*cking ocean. There's a reason people don't do that,' he said. 'That shark was just a pneumatic mechanical device, in the actual ocean. There's no shortcut to that.' And when the shark didn't work? 'They were beginning to confront the real possibility that what they were attempting to do just physically cannot be done.' And yet, they kept going. Spielberg kept going. 'Under enormous pressure, everybody continued to do their best work,' Soderbergh said. 'It's a real clinic for a young filmmaker about the kinds of obstacles that you encounter. Never panic and never give up. It's pretty hard to beat.' It's easy to forget how groundbreaking Jaws was in the context of its time. Soderbergh points out that while other hits like The Godfather and The Exorcist also drew long lines, Jaws birthed the idea of the event movie, wide releases, saturation marketing, and watercooler buzz. 'You have to attribute that to Universal, recognizing they had a rocket in their pocket and tripling down on this wide-release strategy,' he said. But none of that would have mattered if the film didn't land. 'You can't just do it with any film. It was the beneficiary of a lot of different elements coming together in this one circumstance. And the guy made a masterpiece.' Of course, none of this happens without Spielberg. And even after decades of record-breaking box office success and countless genre-defining films, Soderbergh still thinks Spielberg is underrated. 'He's a singular talent who was going to emerge one way or another,' he said. 'Despite being the most successful director in history, I still think he's taken for granted.' 'There are things that he's done that if any other filmmaker had made them, these would be their career best,' Soderbergh said. 'But he's done it so often that he gets taken for granted.' He name-drops Ready Player One as a technical marvel most directors couldn't even conceptualize, let alone execute between Oscar-nominated dramas like The Post . And then there's 1993: Jurassic Park and Schindler's List in the same year. 'That's ridiculous,' Soderbergh said. 'Either one of those would put another filmmaker in the hospital.' In the end, that's what makes Spielberg the greatest of all time. Not just his eye for spectacle, or his ear for emotional truth, or his tireless innovation, but his ability to do all of it, consistently, across decades, in wildly different genres. Jaws wasn't just a turning point for movies, it was the moment a generational talent stepped forward and showed us what was possible. As Soderbergh put it: 'There was no other director on the planet who could have survived and made Jaws . Jaws .' And 50 years later, we're still enjoying what he delivered with that movie.
