Marquette at Villanova odds, picks and predictions
The No. 15 Marquette Golden Eagles (20-6, 11-4 Big East) visit the Villanova Wildcats (15-12, 8-8) Friday at Finneran Pavilion. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (FS1). Let's analyze BetMGM Sportsbook's college basketball odds around the Marquette vs. Villanova odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions. These teams met Jan. 24 in Milwaukee, with Marquette winning 87-74 as a 9.5-point favorite as the Over (142.5) cashed. Wildcats F Eric Dixon, the nation's leading scorer at 22.9 points per game, managed 18 points with 9 rebounds and 3 triples. Golden Eagles G Stevie Mitchell scored 21 points on an efficient 7-of-10 shooting, while G Chase Ross had 18 points, and G Kam Jones went for 16. The Golden Eagles have beaten the 2 last-place teams in the Big East, the DePaul Blue Demons and Seton Hall Pirates, by double digits in the past 2 outings. Marquette has split 1-1 against the spread (ATS) in the 2 games, and it is 1-4 ATS in the previous 5 outings. The Under has cashed in 3 of the past 4 contests. The Wildcats enter with consecutive losses to the Providence Friars and UConn Huskies, both on the road. Villanova is a solid 4-1 ATS in the past 5 games, and it has covered the past 2 outings at Finneran. The Under is 4-2 in the past 6 games. – Rankings: USA TODAY Sports Men's Basketball Coaches Poll Stream select live college basketball games and full replays: Get ESPN+ Marquette at Villanova odds Provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. That's not a wise decision, however. The Golden Eagles have a slim chance of winning the game, but not covering. Marquette would need to win by just 1 point for things not to work out. AVOID, and lay the points instead. Play our free daily Pick'em Challenge and win! Play now! BACK MARQUETTE -1.5 (-115) on the road, as it looks to get the job done by a bucket or more. Marquette hasn't been playing great basketball lately, winning just 2 of the past 5 outings. However, it's been less than a calendar month since the Golden Eagles polished off Villanova +1.5 (-105) by 13 points at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee as a 9.5-point favorite. The Golden Eagles are just 1-4 ATS in the past 5 games, so this comes with some risk. But, while the Wildcats are 4-1 ATS in the same 5-game span, Villanova is still just 4-7 ATS in the previous 11 games, and 0-8 SU/ATS in the past 8 meetings in this series. UNDER 142.5 (-115) is a solid play based on the trends lately. While the Over cashed last time out for Marquette against Seton Hall, the total has gone low in 3 of the past 4 games. The Under has cashed in 4 straight games on the road, too. For Villanova, the Under has hit in the past 2 outings, with the offense going for just 60.5 PPG, while allowing 70.5 PPG. The total has gone low in 4 of the past 6 contests, too, while splitting 3-3 in the past 6 games at Finneran. For more sports betting picks and tips, check out and BetFTW. Follow Kevin J.
