Iranian national suspected of possessing meth in Aichi hotel
AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police have arrested a male Iranian national who is suspected of possessing methamphetamine for the purpose of sale at a hotel in the town of Kanie, reports TBS News (July 17).
At around 2:00 p.m. on July 16, police working off a tip found Azadwand Wahid to be in possession of 0.5 grams of kakuseizai (methamphetamine) inside a room of the hotel.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of violating the Stimulants Control Law, Wahid denied the allegations. 'The drugs were already in the hotel,' he said.
After receiving information about Wahid, officers began a search of the hotel. They later found him hiding behind a desk that was leaning against the back of the door of a room.
Police also found what is believed to be marijuana, 11 syringes and a self-defense knife.
The investigation is ongoing.
