Police reported that about 1:30 p.m. Thursday police had responded to the Walmart for a report of a theft that had just occurred. Police were told that two young males had taken alcohol and fled from the store.
Police were given the license plate and a check showed the vehicle belonged to a Belton High School student. Police said school resource officers and Belton ISD Security began to look for the suspects at school.
The vehicle and the theft suspects were located in the high school parking lot with police saying the driver fled from security and school staff. The car crashed into a fence at the school and continued to flee with the second suspect still in the vehicle.
