Dulce de leche. Avocados. Tajín. Every once in a while, food brands all begin to hop on a trend that quickly goes viral. And right now, it appears that the time has come for tres leches to enjoy the spotlight.
Now, if you've never had the joy of taking in a decadent bite of tres leches, you're missing out. This superbly sweet and rich cake that translates to 'three milks' is a favorite all across Latin America, and among Latin diaspora. In fact, it's believed that a trade agreement between FDR and Nicaragua may have even impacted the recipe (which is essentially a sponge cake made with evaporated milk, whole milk, and condensed milk).
Fast forward decades later, and we've got tres leches items coming from places like Trader Joes and Costco. And now, a Strawberry Tres Leches flavor from none other than Baskin Robbins! While tres leches doesn't typically involve strawberries, I don't doubt this would be a delightful combo. And over on Instagram, fans seem to agree.
Scroll through the comments and you'll see everything from 'I need this,' and 'Looking delicious! 😋,' to 'Oh man I want this.' Personally, I can't blame them. While I've never thought to combine tres leches with strawberries (much less with ice cream), it all sounds truly promising.

Even fans on TikTok are celebrating the arrival of the new flavor, which is only around for a limited time, by the way.
'You had me at Strawberry 🍓,' said one commenter. 'Wow just in time for my birthday 😫,' added another. And still others went so far as to say, 'i'm lactose intolerant, but i'm also lacking this so bad.'
Clearly Baskin Robbins is onto something. Some fans even asked if it was possible to take some of this new ice cream flavor home in a tub, to which the brand responded with a resounding, 'Yes!'
