Dulce de leche. Avocados. Tajín. Every once in a while, food brands all begin to hop on a trend that quickly goes viral. And right now, it appears that the time has come for tres leches to enjoy the spotlight.
Now, if you've never had the joy of taking in a decadent bite of tres leches, you're missing out. This superbly sweet and rich cake that translates to 'three milks' is a favorite all across Latin America, and among Latin diaspora. In fact, it's believed that a trade agreement between FDR and Nicaragua may have even impacted the recipe (which is essentially a sponge cake made with evaporated milk, whole milk, and condensed milk).
Fast forward decades later, and we've got tres leches items coming from places like Trader Joes and Costco. And now, a Strawberry Tres Leches flavor from none other than Baskin Robbins! While tres leches doesn't typically involve strawberries, I don't doubt this would be a delightful combo. And over on Instagram, fans seem to agree.
Scroll through the comments and you'll see everything from 'I need this,' and 'Looking delicious! 😋,' to 'Oh man I want this.' Personally, I can't blame them. While I've never thought to combine tres leches with strawberries (much less with ice cream), it all sounds truly promising.

Even fans on TikTok are celebrating the arrival of the new flavor, which is only around for a limited time, by the way.
'You had me at Strawberry 🍓,' said one commenter. 'Wow just in time for my birthday 😫,' added another. And still others went so far as to say, 'i'm lactose intolerant, but i'm also lacking this so bad.'
Clearly Baskin Robbins is onto something. Some fans even asked if it was possible to take some of this new ice cream flavor home in a tub, to which the brand responded with a resounding, 'Yes!'
Will you be trying out this new Nicaraguan-inspired flavor?

Lauren Sánchez's Pre-Wedding Look Was Impossibly Cinched

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." The wedding fashion rollout continues in Italy. On Friday, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and American journalist Lauren Sánchez will tie the knot in Venice, where the stars have already been showing up in full force to witness the nuptials, including the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Oprah, Orlando Bloom, Tom Brady, and more. Now, the bride-to-be has made her grand appearance for her welcome party, and in Schiaparelli couture, no less. The former Extra correspondent was seen stepping onto a boat with her fiancé, as the two prepared to dine with their wedding guests at the Madonna dell'Orto church. For the soirée, Sánchez chose an eye-popping off-the-shoulder dress pulled from the Spring 2025 Schiaparelli couture collection, designed by Daniel Roseberry and titled 'Icarus.' Her dress featured a jutting, folded-over neckline that, like the skintight midi skirt, was embroidered with designs of swirling vines, florals, and eyes—all in hues of iridescent blue, green, and gold that were set against a champagne fabric. However, it was the contrasting waist that stole the show. The ribbed midsection featured a tightly-wrapped swirl of gold material that cinched Sánchez's body like a spool of thread. In fact, the corset-style swathe was so cinched that the bride needed her husband-to-be to hold her hand as she stepped onto their water taxi. To complete her look, The Fly Who Flew to Space author slipped into a pair of matching metallic gold pumps. For glam, she pulled her hair back into a high ponytail with a few strands hanging like curtains in front of her face—a look that showed off her large diamond earrings. Based on the lavishness of the nuptials, this surely won't be the last designer look we see on Sánchez. Threads Expands its Hidden Words Options

This story was originally published on Social Media Today. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily Social Media Today newsletter. Threads continues to steadily separate from Instagram, and add more customization and control options, this time with an expansion of its 'Hidden Words' settings, so that you can block unwanted discussion from your experience. As you can see in these example screens, Threads has now added another element to its Hidden Words option, with an optional toggle to block offensive content, and/or set your own custom terms and emojis to filter out of your Threads experience. The update is an expansion on the Hidden Words features that Threads first launched back in April. As explained by Threads chief Adam Mosseri: '[The update] includes newly added custom filters to block words, phrases, and emojis in batches, with optional time limits. Threads is about fostering an open exchange of perspectives, and to do so people need to be able to shape the experience into one where they feel comfortable expressing themselves. This is just one more idea in support of that goal.' In terms of time limits, users can choose to block certain words, phrases, or emojis, and set an expiration date on that setting within 30 days. So if there's a topic that's really annoying you, or TV show spoilers you want to avoid, you can erase them from your view for a certain time. It's a significant update, in more ways than one, because up till now, Threads has primarily relied on your IG settings for the same, using your Instagram profile as a proxy for your Threads experience. But with Threads evolving into its own platform, the Threads team is now adding more options that are separate from Instagram. Which is a smart move. While it made sense for Meta to boost Threads take-up by integrating it with IG in its initial launch stage, the way that people now use Threads is, for most people at least, very different to what they come to Instagram for. As such, Threads needs its own settings, and its own processes, separate from your Instagram interactions and preferences, in order to build it into its own experience. The Threads team has already taken steps on this front, by removing Threads follow recommendations based on what you engage with on IG, while it's also testing the option to create a Threads profile without using your Instagram login. These are all important steps to separate the two, and enable Threads to grow into a new platform of its own. And with 350 million users, Threads should now have enough engagement insights, based on Threads activity in isolation, to have a clear understanding of engagement trends and interest graphs separate from IG. Providing Threads-specific controls is another step in this direction, as Meta looks to build it into the next billion-user platform. Is that even possible? I mean, Twitter/X has never exceeded 600 million users, so it does seem like the interest in a real-time, text-based social feed like this is limited. But maybe, if Meta can get it right, it could well overtake the growth of the format's originator at some stage. Sign in to access your portfolio
