Stroud neighbourhood policing team were on the case on Saturday, posting an appeal to locate the owners on social media with pictures of the swines. 'We need your help,' the team wrote. 'Anyone missing some pigs? 'If they are yours, please call 101 urgently.' The post later appeared to have been updated, reading: 'Big thank-you for everyone's help. 'We have located the owners.' Shyama Ananthan, councillor for Farmhill and Paganhill on Stroud Town Council and Stroud District Council, also posted on social media at around 7pm on Saturday, July 19, with photos showing [[police]] in Stratford Park near an entrance close to Stratford Road. The pictures also showed pigs in a trailer on the road by the entrance. 'Traffic alert - Stratford Road (A4171),' Ms Ananthan said. 'Stray pigs have been spotted on the road near the Tesco junction, and police have temporarily closed Stratford Road to ensure everyone's safety while they work to capture the animals. 'If you are the owner or have any information, please contact the police immediately. 'Drivers: please avoid the area for now and plan alternative routes.'
