It's understood that emergency services this morning raced to a house in Ayr, Ayrshire, following reports of an injured man. Chief Inspector Stuart Dougan told the news website: 'Around 10am on Tuesday, 17 June, 2025, we were called to a report of a man found injured in the Braeside Road area of Ayr. "He has been taken to hospital for treatment. Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.' A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: 'We received a call at 10:02 to attend an incident on Braeside Road, Ayr. "An ambulance and an air ambulance with a trauma team were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.' The Scottish Sun has asked Police Scotland for comment. In an unrelated incident, a person died after police locked down a busy Scottish city centre for hours. Cops sealed off the Cowgate in Edinburgh on Sunday evening at around 6pm. The alarm was raised following reports of concern for a person. Locals were urged to avoid the area. Police officer injured in 'disorder' before Ayr United and Partick Thistle play-off tie

A "large group of people" were involved in "disorder" before Ayr United's play-off defeat to Partick Thistle on Friday night A police officer was injured after "disorder" broke out before Ayr United 's play-off tie with Partick Thistle. Police were made aware of an incident on River Street in Ayr at around 7.15pm on Friday, May 9 - around half an hour before the match kicked off. ‌ A "large group of people" were involved in disorder and, as police responded to the incident, one officer received minor injuries before the group dispersed. ‌ The incident took place in an area about a 15 minute walk away from Ayr United's Somerset Park which was hosting the second leg of the play-off tie. Police are appealing for information and a "dedicated team of officers" are carrying out enquiries to trace those involved. Chief Inspector Stuart Dougan said 'A proportionate policing plan was in place for the match and no further issues were identified, but I want to make it clear we have a zero-tolerance approach to disorder such as that seen at River Street. 'Officers acted swiftly in challenging circumstances to deal with what amounted to totally unacceptable behaviour. 'A dedicated team of officers are carrying out enquiries to identify those involved and appropriate action will be taken.' ‌ A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: 'Officers are appealing for information following disorder before a recent football match between Ayr United and Partick Thistle. 'Around 7.15pm on Friday, 9 May, 2025, we were made aware of a large group of people involved in disorder on River Street in Ayr. 'The group later dispersed, and one police officer suffered minor injuries during the incident. ‌ 'Enquiries are ongoing to trace those involved. 'Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 3236 of May 9.' and ended the Honest Men's chances of promotion to the Premiership.
