Subhadra beneficiaries receive two instalments at a time

1 2 Bhubaneswar: More than two lakh new beneficiaries received two instalments under the Subhadra Scheme on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Divas Thursday. Deputy chief minister Pravati Parida said those eligible beneficiaries who have not received money under the scheme would get all instalments once their anomalies are cleared. "Odisha govt on Tuesday disbursed over Rs 200 crore to two lakh beneficiaries who did not receive Subhadra money for some reason. Those whose applications were rejected for any reason can get the amount if they submit clearance from the respective offices. The govt is committed to providing Subhadra money to all eligible beneficiaries," said Parida. Giving examples of various anomalies, Parida said there are cases where applications were rejected due to payment of income tax, revenue issues, or digital payment or linkage of bank accounts and mobile numbers. These applicants can apply again with clarification from respective offices. While more than one crore women received the first instalment of Rs 5,000 in five phases, around 98 lakh women received the second instalment on March 8, 2025, coinciding with International Women's Day. The third instalment will be disbursed on Raksha Bandhan in August this year.
