Motorist booked for pulling dog on a motorbike in an inhuman way
The Byndoor police in Udupi district have booked one Subrahmanya, a resident of Paduvari village, for dragging a dog by tying (chaining) it to a motorcycle. The case was booked after the police saw the video on YouTube of the dog being dragged in an inhuman manner by a motorcycle heading from Ravotakatte to Nakatte on the NH-66 service road. The video of the incident went viral on the social media on Sunday, May 25. Finding the rider as Subrahmanya, the Byndoor police booked him for provisions under section 325 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and section 11(1)(D) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

JSP leaders conduct special prayers at various temples for Indian armed forces
The Jana Sena Party (JSP) leaders and cadres conducted special prayers at various temples seeking divine blessings for the Indian armed forces, on Tuesday. Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar, MLC Pidugu Hariprasad and others conducted prayers, at the Kanaka Durga temple, here. On the occasion, Mr. Manohar said, 'We prayed to Goddess Durga to bless our soldiers with her divine grace.' With the moral strength of the people, the Indian Army is advancing step by step, aiming to eliminate terrorism. Jana Sena is working to instil inspiration and national spirit among all, especially the youth, through its efforts in the current political times, he said. Special worships were conducted in Subrahmanya temples and various Devi temples across the State. Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh performed a special puja at the Sri Kumara Subrahmanya temple in Bikkavolu, East Godavari district. Meanwhile, special worship was conducted at the Sri Subrahmanyeswara Swamy temple in Mopidevi, Krishna district, under the leadership of Avanigadda MLA Mandali Buddha Prasad. Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashouri also participated. Through these prayers, they sought the blessings of Lord Subrahmanya for the Indian Army and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in their fight to protect the nation. Pujas were performed at the Sri Puruhutika Sameta Kukuteshwara Swamy temple, one of the 18 'Shakti Peethams', located in Pithapuram. A 'Sudarshana Homam' was also conducted. A 'Namaz' prayer was held under the leadership of Maulana Mastan Saab Najwi to seek divine strength and spiritual power for the Indian armed forces and the national leadership. The event was organised under the guidance of Sheikh Riyaz, chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Livestock Development Agency, and Abid Mirza, a member of the Haj Committee.

Jana Sena Party to offer special prayers at six Shanmukha Temples for safety of armed forces
The Jana Sena Party (JSP) will offer special prayers over the next couple of days at six Shanmukha temples to seek divine strength for the Indian Armed Forces and national leadership. One MLA accompanied by a team of party workers will offer the prayers at Shanmukha (Subrahmanya) shrines in Tiruttani, Tiruchendur, Palani, Tirupparankundram, Swamimalai, and Pazhamudircholai. In addition, prayers will also be offered at the Kukke Subrahmanya and Ghati Subrahmanya temples in Karnataka, Mopidevi and Bikkavolu Subrahmanya temples in Andhra Pradesh, Sri Durga Malleswara temple on Indrakeeladri, and Sri Puruhutika Devi temple in Pithapuram. Special prayers will also be held at Sri Suryanarayana Swamy temple in Arasavalli, Srikakulam district on Sunday. The party also decided to conduct prayers at various temples across the state for the welfare of the army and the people in war-affected regions like Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Haryana. JSP president and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Friday said as Operation Sindoor intensifies, every Indian national's moral support is vital. He requested the people to pray and seek strength and blessings for the armed forces, fighting the enemy on the borders, and our national leadership-led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The armed forces possess superior might and technological prowess capable of containing enemy forces and protecting the nation. Now, is the time for the whole country to unite and pray for their safety, he said. He also encouraged people of other faiths to pray in their respective places of worship — Christians in churches and Muslims in mosques — for the nation and its protectors.
