Two people charged in Statesville drug bust: Sheriff
IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two people are facing drug-related charges after deputies executed a search warrant on a Statesville home last week.
On Friday, June 6, law enforcement searched a home on Fairdale Road after investigators received complaints about possible drug activity at the residence.
Detectives conducted surveillance operations and identified 48-year-old James William Smith as a suspect. Undercover narcotics investigators were able to purchase crystal meth directly from Smith inside the home.
Based on the evidence gathered throughout the investigation, a search warrant was obtained and executed.
Officers found Smith and 43-year-old Kira Holly James in the home during the search.

10 grams of crystal meth, along with 71 doses of Clonazepam and 25 doses of Subtext were found during the search. The total street value of the narcotics is $2,105.
Both Smith and James were arrested and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center.
Smith was charged with four counts of felony possession with intent to sell/deliver meth, felony possession with intent to sell/deliver a Schedule III controlled substance and felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for the sale/use of a controlled substance. He was issued a $120,000 secured bond.
James was charged with felony possession with intent to sell/deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony possession with intent to sell/deliver a Schedule IV controlled substance and felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for the sale/use of a controlled substance. She was given a $45,000 secured bond.
