BHILWARA: On Wednesday, the Begu police station in Chittorgarh district conducted a major operation against illegal narcotics, seizing a Fortuner car along with 395 kilograms and 370 grams of illegal opium poppy powder. Chittorgarh SP Sudhir Joshi stated that all station officers in the district were instructed to take strict action against drug traffickers. Under the supervision of ASP Bhagwat Singh Higar and Begu DSP Anjali Singh, a special team was formed under the leadership of Begu Station Officer Shivlal Meena. The team, while patrolling the Kota-Chittorgarh highway near Sadalpur village, observed the Fortuner car driver abandoning the vehicle upon seeing the police checkpoint. Upon searching the car, the police found a total of 395 kilograms and 370 grams of illegal opium poppy powder packed in 21 plastic bags. The police seized the Fortuner car and the illegal opium poppy powder, registering a case against the car driver under the NDPS Act and starting an investigation.

Bhilwara: Police here Tuesday said that a special team investigating the kidnapping of an elderly man in Sadar police station area on June 21 had busted a gang involved in similar incidents in other districts and also in Gujarat, and four gang members—two of them from Jaipur—have been arrested. Chittorgarh SP Sudhir Joshi stated that Nadeem Khan, 52, reported to the Sadar police station that while returning home from the market, he was abducted by three to four individuals in a car. The assailants assaulted him and demanded Rs 50,000 for his release. His family paid the amount online to the abductors, who then released him. A special police team was formed under supervision of Chittorgarh ASP Sarita Singh and led by Sadar SHO Niranjan Pratap Singh. The team reviewed CCTV footage and identified the culprits. The team then detained Rohit Kilanian, 27, from Mahendragarh district in Haryana, Balram Sharma, 28, from Amer police station area in Jaipur, Manish Meena from Bassi police station area in Jaipur district, and Dilkhush Meena, 21, from Dausa district. Upon interrogation, they confessed to kidnapping, assaulting, and extorting money from the elderly man. The four also admitted to committing similar crimes in Chittorgarh city, Deoli in Tonk district, Bichhiwada in Dungarpur district, and Meghaninagar in Gujarat.
