New lights, fountains & sound show: Leisure Valley Park set for revamp

Gurgaon: From fountain renovation and improved lighting to a new open gym and boundary wall, a slew of infrastructure upgrade projects are underway at Leisure Valley Park in Sector 29. The project, undertaken by GMDA and supported by CSR funding, will involve landscaping, beautification work, renovation of fountains, installing streetlights and equipment for a new open gym, along with rebuilding a boundary wall and toilets. With numerous residents flocking to the park everyday and following long-standing complaints about poor maintenance, GMDA has decided to give the park a facelift. Recently, GMDA had floated a tender for 250 steetlights at an estimated cost of Rs 1.4 crore. "The walking paths become pitch dark after sunset. Installing streetlights should have been a priority years ago," said Sudhir Sachdeva, a resident of Sushant Lok-1 and a frequent visitor at the park. Moreover, GMDA has floated a Rs 25 lakh tender for a second open-air gym. An automobile company is undertaking renovation and seepage repair of all seven fountains in the park under CSR.
