Combine harvester destroyed in Rushmere St Andrew fire
A combine harvester has been destroyed after catching fire in a farmer's field. Suffolk Fire Service was called to Rushmere St Andrew near Ipswich, Suffolk at about 22:30 BST on engines were sent to the field, off Holly Lane, and the fire was put out by crews wearing breathing apparatus using hose reel service said no-one was injured and the fire was deemed to have been started accidentally. Firefighters tackle Bury St Edmunds blaze at former prep school
Firefighters from two counties have been tackling a blaze at a three-storey former preparatory emergency services were called to the Moreton Hall site in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, at about 10:50 BST, after smoke was seen coming from a second-floor window. The nearby Moreton Hall Health Club was evacuated as part of the operation, a Suffolk Fire Service spokesperson was injured in the fire at the former school on Mount Road, which closed in summer 2020. Suffolk bungalow roof destroyed after being stuck by lightning
A bungalow roof was completely destroyed after being struck by lightning during a night of severe firefighters were called to the property, in Howley Gardens, in Oulton, at 00:38 BST on about an hour of arriving at the scene, on the northern edge of Lowestoft, the three crews had extinguished the blaze but they were unable to prevent it from consuming "100%" of the Fire Service said no casualties were reported but the homeowner had since had to find somewhere else to live. Up to 15 appliances tackle fire at storage unit
Up to 15 fire appliances have spent the night tackling a blaze at a self-storage warehouse. Suffolk Fire Service was called to an Alan Cook Removals on at the South Lowestoft industrial area at about midnight. The service said the whole building, on Pinbush Road in Gisleham, was affected and no-one was inside at the time. Fire service group manager Matt Webster said they were "making good progress" and the number of engines had been scaled down to six, with the aerial ladder platform still on site, and they expected to have a presence there for most of the day.
