Macaulay Culkin's kids have "no idea" their parents are famous. The Home Alone star is father to two sons with his actress partner Brenda Song and he's revealed he is "not intending to raise a nepo baby" and he's glad the boys are "thoroughly unimpressed" when they see their mom and dad on TV. During an appearance on the Hot Ones YouTube show, Macaulay, 44, explained: "My kids have no idea that me and Brenda are famous. "They see momma on TV because when she's not around I put on [her TV show] Suite Life [The Suite Life of Zack and Cody]. "Just saying. I say oh yeah, no I showed them some Suite Life and you know what [my son] Dak said. "He goes: 'Someday I want to grow up and marry a girl just as pretty as [Brenda's character] London Tipton'. I'm like: 'Yeah yeah, yep yep'. "But they are thoroughly unimpressed that we're on TV and stuff like that. I don't want them to get mired by all that kind of stuff." He added: "I'm not intending to raise a nepo baby no matter how much they're going to be like them, you know?" During the appearance, the former child star opened up about his retirement from Hollywood in the 1990s after huge success as a young actor - admitting he did read scripts during his break but there were a few that "slipped through" and became missed opportunities for his comeback. He said: "Well, you have to understand, at least then, I was retired. For at least a big chunk of that. For at least like six or seven years of that. "Like just went to high school, I got married way too young, things like that you know. I was actually pretty good at reading. "I was kind of vivaciously reading through the scripts. But there was a couple that slipped through. " Macaulay went on to revealed he regrets missing out on the lead role in Wes Anderson's 1998 comedy Rushmore which ended up going to Jason Schwartzman. He added: "I remember about two years later kind of clearing out the house, throwing out the old scripts, and I saw the one that I didn't read was Rushmore. "I was like ah dang. I probably could have done that one. Although I can't imagine anyone but Schwartzman doing that part. But at the same time, I was like: 'Oh man that would have been a ball and a biscuit, that on."

Suite Life of Zack & Cody star Kim Rhodes has left fans 'in tears' as she talked about quietly watching her on-screen sons Cole and Dylan Sprouse 's careers explode from a distance and not forcing a relationship with them. The 56-year-old actress played mom Carey Martin in the popular Disney Channel sitcom, which aired from 2005 to 2008. In a new interview, Kim revealed that she hasn't stayed in contact with the twins, but instead watches their career with 'delight' and 'pride.' 'I follow them on social media,' she said. 'I am aware of everything they're doing, but I never want them to feel like I'm an obligation.' Speaking to People, she she continued: 'I follow them with delight. I follow them with pride. 'I love watching them launch into who they are, but I don't expect them to necessarily reciprocate.' Social media users, although saddened by Kim's admission, branded her 'selfless' and 'supportive.' Some also called for Cole and Dylan to reach out to her. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one said: 'I'm sorry but this thought of her brings me to tears… this how my mother used to talk to me like… 'She is proud of you but she also doesn't expect you to care for her in old age as an expectations…. Kim Rhodes always be that mom everyone should have.' 'This is actually kinda sad,' another wrote. A third continued: 'Wow. The Suite Life era was magical. Hearing Kim speak with so much grace just makes me appreciate that show even more.' A fourth added: 'That's such a kind and selfless way to look at it. Pure class.' 'It's nice that she's still supportive regardless, hopefully she'll reunite with them at some point,' another wrote. 'Some kids just don't appreciate their mothers until it's too late,' a sixth penned. The Suite Life of Zack & Cody follows 12-year-old twin brothers who live in the luxurious Tipton Hotel in Boston, where their divorced mother Carey sings and performs in the hotel lounge. The identical twins often cause mischief at their residence. The series also starred Brenda Song, Ashley Tisdale, and Phill Lewis. Last year, Kim revealed that she became pregnant during filming of the series, which led to various fat jokes on the show. During an appearance on the 90s/2000s podcast Back to the Best, she said that Dylan kept 'skipping over' the joke all week, but when it came to the taping, he stood his ground and fired a shot at the writers. 'One of my favorite memories is Dylan had a line that was a fat joke, and he just kept skipping over it. It was in the middle of a chunk of dialogue. So he kept skipping over this laugh line,' she said. 'Finally we get to in front of the studio audience, and he skips it. The executive producer screams "Cut." It's the director's job to cut by the way. 'He goes, "Cut. Dylan, say the line." He goes, "I would not disrespect any woman that way let alone this woman. You write something funny, and I'll say it." 'That's my little man. They're both my little men.' Following her role in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Kim went on to have a recurring guest role in the series Supernatural, playing Sheriff Jody Mills. She also appeared in Gortimer: Gibbon's Life on Normal Street, Colony, and Criminal Minds. Earlier this week, Kim collaborated with M&M's for their PB&J Packed Lunch Specials. Alongside the campaign, she revealed that she now lives in 'the middle of nowhere' and volunteers at an animal sanctuary. She said: 'I water goats now. That's what I do! I pick up eggs, I rescue beat-up chickens... that's my life.

Disney Nixed Brenda Song's Gran Torino Role
Brenda Song was just 7 years old when she made her acting debut in the ABC sitcom Thunder Alley, with the star going on to make several other TV show appearances over the years, and signing a contract with Disney Channel after starring in its original movie The Ultimate Christmas Present. However, you probably best know her playing hotel heiress London Tipton in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, a role that she landed at 16 years old. Brenda, now 37, remained on the Disney Channel series for all three seasons, until September 2008, and later reprised London in the Suite Life spin-off The Suite Life on Deck, which aired until 2011. And Brenda has now revealed that her ties to the network impacted the rest of her career, with Disney even stopping her from appearing in Clint Eastwood's 2008 movie Gran Torino because it included a sexual assault scene. Brenda would have been around 20 years old at the time, and recalled being 'very upset' that she wasn't able to go for the part. Speaking at the Bentonville Film Festival earlier this week, the actor explained: 'The character had an intended sexual assault scene, so Disney nixed it. And I was very upset, but I was like: 'OK, I guess it didn't work out.'' And while the star allowed Disney to dictate her career choices at this point, she ended up putting her foot down two years later when they tried to stop her from accepting the role of Christy in The Social Network. For reference, Christy is Eduardo's love interest in the Oscar-winning movie, and at one point, it is implied that the characters have sex in a public Disney raised concerns about Brenda taking on the adult role, she ended up going directly to the president and COO of Disney Branded Television at the time, Gary Marsh. 'I was just like: 'I am an actor. When you hired me, I was not a hotel heiress. If I have ever done anything in my personal life to ever draw bad attention to your company, I understand. But this is the last season of the show, and this is the opportunity of a lifetime,'" Brenda shared. "And I was so fortunate, they were so supportive. They allowed me to do this film that truly changed my life.' Brenda's comments come soon after she revealed that her agents dropped her after she committed to The Social Network because she'd already been booked onto another project. In a conversation captured by the Wrap, she explained: "There was another project that I had booked when I also booked The Social Network and my agents very much pushed me for the other project. [They're] like: 'It's a lead role, it's a big movie. This is amazing, this is it.'""I was like: 'David Fincher is one of my favorite directors of all time,'" Brenda went on. "They're like: 'It's two scenes,' but I'm like: 'This is what I really wanted.' And my agents dropped me over this decision." After The Social Network, Brenda's career took on a new lease of life, with appearances on episodes of Scandal, New Girl, and Dollface. More recently, she starred in Gia Coppola's 2024 movie The Last Showgirl, opposite Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis, with Brenda crediting her role as showgirl Mary-Anne as a 'turning point' in her told Entertainment Weekly earlier this year: 'I had literally just said to my mom and my partner: 'If the best of my career's behind me, I think I'm okay with that. I am really proud of what I've done.' And they're like: 'What are you talking about? You're 35 years old.' But I was at such a crossroads in my life.' Meanwhile, some users suggested that Ashley has potentially had cosmetic work. Over the years, the star has been open about getting a nose job to fix a deviated septum and getting breast implants, which she later got removed due to health issues. She has denied using Botox for cosmetic purposes, and has only had it to help the pain she gets from TMJ — aka temporomandibular joint dysfunction — in her jaw.
