Sharjah crowned champions of UAE Taekwondo Cup
Recognition and individual awards Sharjah Club also received the Excellence Award from the UAE Taekwondo Federation in recognition of its role in hosting international training camps and organising championships. The club was further honoured with the Outstanding Partner Award. In individual honours, Sharjah received the award for Best Coach of the Season, and its athletes were recognised as Best Player in the men's, youth, and junior categories. With this result, the 'Kings of Taekwondo' added their 10th title of the season and claimed the overall championship trophy in the men's category. Official statement from the club Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Sports, said: "We congratulate the taekwondo team on this achievement, which reflects the efforts of the technical and administrative staff. I also commend the outstanding performance of our athletes who lived up to expectations and represented the club in the best way throughout the season." He added: "Individual sports at Sharjah Club follow a strategy of continuity and generational transition. This long-term approach has yielded remarkable results across all disciplines over the years. We will continue this path to safeguard our successes and achieve new milestones in future seasons." Al Hajri also stressed that the consistent support and attention from the Sharjah Sports Council have played a major role in the success of individual sports across the emirate, especially at Sharjah Club. He acknowledged the unwavering backing of the club's Board of Directors, which has stood by the teams in every competition. Looking ahead to the next season Al Hajri concluded by noting that preparations for the new season are already underway, with plans to meet all team needs to ensure they are fully equipped to compete at the highest level. Sharjah Club wins UAE Karate League title for 13th time
Sharjah's karate team dominated the league, taking first place in the junior Kumite category in the last round, which saw participation from 87 players representing seven clubs. The team confirmed its dominance from the first round, dedicated to Kata, where they claimed all available trophies in the junior, youth, and men's categories. They continued their success in the second round of Kumite, winning first place in both the junior and youth divisions, securing the general league shield in Kata and Kumite for those categories. In the final Kumite round, Sharjah claimed first place in both the men's and junior divisions, earning them the overall general league shield in Kata and Kumite for men. They won every bout in a tournament featuring 160 male and female athletes from seven clubs across the country. The event was held at the Sharjah Club's gym in Al Hazana. Historic first for Future Stars Championship The Future Stars Championship, held for the first time with its new team competition format, saw intense competition and enthusiasm. The King's athletes stood out and dominated the championship across all categories, securing the top spots. Focus on Emirati talent Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Games, congratulated the team and players for their exceptional performance. He noted that the Future Stars Championship holds special importance for the club, as it is focused on Emirati athletes. Al Hajri emphasised that the championship showcases the significant efforts made to support local players. He also highlighted the club's extensive pool of talented Emirati athletes who have excelled in various international competitions and led national teams. Future of Karate in Sharjah The Head of Individual Games further stressed that the future of karate in Sharjah lies with these athletes, who have consistently proven their excellence and achieved podium finishes.
