Bid For ‘SIS' Registration Numbers Opens Tomorrow

SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Members of the public who wish to have a special registration number (NPI) with the index 'SIS' which means 'Sultan Idris Shah' can place bids starting tomorrow. A post on the Selangor Royal Office's Facebook page announced that the 'SIS' plate bidding is open in conjunction with the 80th birthday celebration of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Idris Shah in December and the Silver Jubilee celebration of his 25th year of reign next year. The special registration number is being offered by the Ministry of Transport through the Road Transport Department (JPJ) through online bidding via the JPJeBid System. "The public bidding is based on the following regulations, namely the opening date is August 15 (Friday) and closing at 10 pm, August 19 (Tuesday). "The date for the bidding results is August 20 (Wednesday)," according to the posting. The bidding method is subject to the existing terms and conditions set through the JPJeBid System, while the bid price is according to the minimum price set by JPJ. According to the posting, JPJ is the only entity that will manage the sale of this NPI and no third party is involved in the related process. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the NPI will be channelled to a foundation under the patronage of the Sultan of Selangor to be used for charitable activities including scholarships and emergency funds to help those in need. The foundation which will be chaired by Selangor Royal Council member and former Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Muhammad Ibrahim, will be subject to transparent procedures and governance, according to the post.

Special 'SIS' vehicle plates up for bidding for Sultan Sharafuddin's Silver Jubilee

KUALA LUMPUR: The Road Transport Department will open bidding for a special vehicle registration number series, SIS, in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of the reign of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah in 2026. In a statement, RTD said the SIS series, which stands for "Sultan Idris Shah", was consented to by the ruler as part of the 25-year celebration of his reign. The public is invited to participate in the bidding through the JPJeBid System, which will open on Aug 15 and close on Aug 19 at 10pm, with results announced the following day. "Any registration number successfully won through bidding must be registered to a vehicle within 12 months from the date the official bidding result letter is issued," it added.
