National Defence College celebrates graduation of 12th cohort

Muscat: The Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies on Tuesday celebrated the graduation of the 12th cohort of the National Defence College. The cohort included senior officers from the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) and other military and security units, alongside officials from various ministries, authorities, government institutions, and civil entities. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, and was attended by Major General Hamid Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies. During the event, a visual presentation highlighted the course's comprehensive curriculum, practical applications, relevant study visits, and lectures and seminars delivered by specialists and decision-makers. Following the presentation, the Minister of Economy distributed certificates to the graduating participants. The graduation ceremony saw the attendance of several official, commanders of the Sultan's Armed Forces and military and security units, members of the State Council, senior officers from the Sultan's Armed Forces and other military and security units, a gathering of retired senior officers, and members of the college's steering committee.

Chairman of Academy for Strategic, Defence Studies inspects 'Decision-Making 12' exercise

Muscat: Maj. Gen Hamed Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies today inspected the progress and activities of the annual strategic exercise 'Decision-Making 12'. The Chairman and several senior officers were briefed about the exercise. The participants gave an explanatory presentation about the exercise and how it interacts with international issues and various national scenarios. Meanwhile, several retired commanders from the Sultan's Armed Forces and other military and security units also viewed the strategic exercise 'Decision-Making 12'. Upon their arrival at the National Defence College (NDC), they were received by Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the NDC, at the presence of Maj. Gen Hamed Ahmed Sakroon, Chairman of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies.

Al Jabal Al Akhdar: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) celebrated the graduation of officer skills courses and a batch of new police recruits at the Police Training Center in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office and Head of the Office of the Supreme Commander, in the presence of Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, along with several high-ranking officials, commanders of the Sultan's Armed Forces and ROP, military and security leaders, members of the Shura Council, and local officials from Al Jabal Al Akhdar. The graduation ceremony began with a salute to the patron of the event, followed by the parade commander asking permission to inspect the front row. The graduates then marched past the main dais in a ceremonial procession, after which Gen. Al Nu'amani presented awards to the top-performing graduates. After that, the graduates chanted the ROP anthem, 'Guardians of Justice". They also chanted thrice 'Long live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander'. Following the event, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office and Head of the Office of the Supreme Commander toured the Police Training Center in Al Jabal Al Akhdar, where he observed combat team demonstrations in self-defense, karate, and taekwondo. These displays were performed by trainees enrolled in various martial arts courses conducted by the center for ranks of the Special Tasks Police Command and its units. The demonstrations reflected an advanced level of skill, tactical discipline, and readiness through realistic scenarios simulating field operations, showcasing full preparedness to handle diverse security situations and incidents.

Military Hajj Mission returns home

Muscat: The military Hajj mission returned home on Tuesday after performing this year's Hajj pilgrimage in the Holy Land. Upon arrival at Al Seeb Air Base, the mission was received by Maj. Gen (retired) Hamad Sulaiman Al Hatmi, along with several senior officers from the Sultan's Armed Forces and other military and security units. The military Hajj mission returned aboard several transport aircraft of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO). The delegation included a number of pilgrims and administrative personnel from the Sultan's Armed Forces and other military and security units. All members of the mission performed the Hajj rituals with ease and returned in good health. The dispatch of the military Hajj mission comes under the directives of His Majesty the Supreme Commander and is organised annually by the Moral Guidance and Military Protocol Department of the Sultan's Armed Forces. Comprehensive administrative and health measures related to the mission were implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, the Omani Hajj Mission, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Sultanate of Oman, and other relevant authorities. The military mission was accompanied by a fully integrated administrative team comprising specialists in administration, medical services, media, and technical support. -ONA

HM offers Eid Al Adha prayers at Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Nizwa

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik offered Eid Al Adha 1446 AH prayers at Sultan Qaboos Mosque in the Wilayat of Nizwa, Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah today. Along with His Majesty the Sultan, the Eid Al Fitr prayers were be offered by some of their highnesses members of the Royal Family, Al Busaid dignitaries, ministers, advisors, commanders of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and other military and security services, some members of the State Council and Shura Council in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, undersecretaries, walis, sheikhs and citizens.
