Pakistani actor and reality television star, Humaira Asghar, was recently found dead in her rented apartment in Karachi, and her was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition, The Dawn quoted police as saying. The report added police found Humaira Asghar's dead body on Tuesday in her apartment in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Karachi. It added the police had arrived to enforce a court order to vacate the flat. At around 3.15 pm on Tuesday, officers from the Gizri Police Station reached the location; however, there was no response at the door. Following this, the police forcibly entered the flat and found Humaira Asghar dead. The Dawn report added that the 32-year-old actress had stopped paying rent since 2024, prompting the landlord to seek a court order for eviction. Soon after the police entered the house, they sent her body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination. In the post-mortem, police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed confirmed that the body was in a 'very advanced stage of decomposition' and had been there for several days. Born in Lahore, Humaira Asghar was a Pakistani actor, model, and reality TV star. She received formal training in Visual and Performing Arts at the National College of Arts (NCA) in Lahore and the College of Art & Design (PUCAD). Her modelling career kicked off in 2013 and she started working in television soon. She appeared in shows such as Laali, Benaam, Chal Dil Mere, and Sirat‑e‑Mustaqeem. In 2015, she also made a film debut with Jalaibee and was last seen on the big screen in the 2021 film Love Vaccine. She gained popularity after participating in the 2022 Pakistani reality show Tamasha Ghar, which streams on ARY Digital and follows a format similar to Bigg Boss. Her last television drama was Esaan Faramosh. Humaira Asghar was honoured with the National Woman Leadership Award for Best Emerging Talent & Rising Star in 2023. Expressing her gratitude on Instagram, she wrote, "This award means so much to me, not just as an individual, as a qualified artist, actress, but as a symbol of what women can achieve and support to thrive if they are given the best opportunities. Pakistani actor Humaira Asghar Ali, who is in the spotlight after her body was found on Wednesday, reportedly died nine months ago. 'Highly decomposed' corpse, last call record, stale food, dry taps and no electricity supply in the Karachi apartment she resided in reveals chilling details, Arab News reported. Humaira Asghar Ali's lifeless body was discovered on July 9 in a 'very advanced stage of decomposition', according to Karachi Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed, who carried out the medical examination. Probe of her call records reveal that the phone was last used in October 2024. Her last social media activity suggests that the 32-year-old model didn't use her account after September. Previously, a post-mortem report indicated that the corpse was at least a month old. Notably, she was last seen by her neighbours between September and October last year. Two officials familiar with the matter informed the news outlet that the electricity supply to her flat was disconnected in October 2024 over non-payment of bill. Humaira Asghar Ali's house neither had any power supply nor any candles. While the taps ran dry pointing to no use for months, the officials added, 'Humaira's body is likely nine months old. She probably died between paying her last utility bills and when her electricity was disconnected in October 2024, probably due to non-payment of the bill." The food in her house had expired months ago another police official noted and said, 'The jars had rusted, and food had expired six months ago.' Meanwhile, no one alerted the police about the foul smell emanating from the house and the body as it was the only occupied flat on the floor. Previously, her father, a retired army doctor, Dr Asghar Ali, refused to claim the body and asserted that they had severed all ties with the actress over the past two years. The police are yet to ascertain the reason of her death while her brother Naveed Asghar claimed that she last visited their house 1.5 years ago and had distanced herself from the family. For the last seven years, TikTok and Instagram influencer had been living alone in Karachi and was rarely seen out except for work, after moving from Lahore.

What We Know So Far About Her Death After Humaira Asghar Ali's body was discovered in her apartment, it was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination. Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed has told Dawn that the actress's body was found in "a very advanced stage of decomposition." However, the causes can only be determined once the chemical analysis reports of the samples are out. SSP-South, Mahzoor Ali, told Dawn that the actress had not been paying rent since 2024, and hence was asked to get the flat vacated on court orders. He added, "We are waiting for the doctors' final report to conclude the exact cause of the death." As for family members, the police have been trying to get in touch with her relatives through her contacts. Deadly building collapse in Karachi kills 15, leaves nine injured
KARACHI — A residential building collapsed in the southeastern Pakistani city of Karachi, killing 15 people and injuring nine others, local media reported on Saturday. The five-story structure, located in Sindh province, came crashing down on Friday afternoon, according to Dawnnewspaper, which cited police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed. Rescue teams worked through the night to search for survivors and recover bodies from the debris. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Syed Asad Raza said the building had been previously declared uninhabitable by local authorities due to its deteriorating condition. He added that the structure was further weakened by recent heavy rains, ultimately leading to the collapse.
