A platform for children to hone skills in a variety of sessions
Visakhapatnam: After engaging children in a variety of activities, Summer Coaching Camp 2025 organised by East Coast Railway Women's Welfare Organisation (ECoRWWO) concluded in Visakhapatnam. The month-long camp held at Anurag Montessori School provided a platform to hone their skills. Participants took part in a host of sessions like karate, yoga, calligraphy, drawing, chess, art and craft, keyboard, vocal music, and dance. This year, a special training in fabric painting and tailoring was introduced for women. Organised under the guidance of Jyotsna Bohra, president of ECoRWWO, the camp included distribution of certificates to outstanding participants. Speaking on the occasion, Jyotsna Bohra highlighted the significance of such events, stating that the camp provided an opportunity for the city's children to utilise the vast resources of the railways, develop skills, foster team spirit, and make the most of their summer holidays. The valedictory function was held at Rail Club, Visakhapatnam in the presence of Madhumita Sahoo, vice president of ECoRWWO, Ankita Sharma, secretary, and other executive members. This year, the camp saw a participation of over 100 children, including those from non-railway families. Also, more than 20 women benefited from the fabric designing classes.

‘Summer coaching camp 2025' in multiple sports disciplines
Visakhapatnam: The much-awaited annual 'Summer Coaching Camp 2025' for children was formally inaugurated at the Sports Complex of Ukkunagaram by HK Jha, HoD (F&A). The event witnessed the presence of Tapan Kumar Ghosh, GM-HR (Sports) and HoD, PK Goutham, DGM (General Surgery), VSGH, along with the sports department team, coaches and enthusiastic parents and guardians. Designed with a focus on enhancing children's physical fitness, endurance and technical skills, the camp is being conducted across 13 sports disciplines, they include athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, chess, cricket, football, hockey, kabaddi, lawn tennis, roller skating, volleyball and yoga. The platform aims to instill core values such as teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship among children along with giving them an opportunity to make new friends and build confidence. The initiative underscores the organisation's commitment towards nurturing young talent and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.

Visakhapatnam: East Coast Railway Sports Association (ECoRSA) – Waltair has launched its annual 'Summer Coaching Camp 2025.' Started recently, the 40-day camp that continues till May 31 at Waltair Railway Stadium in Visakhapatnam drew enthusiastic participation from over 200 children, aged 5 to 15 years. The camp has both morning and evening sessions. As part of it, a dedicated yoga camp is being conducted under the guidance of Jyotsna Bohra, president of the East Coast Railway Women's Welfare Organisation (ECoRWWO), Waltair. This initiative aims to instil healthy habits and promote mental well-being among young participants. Children are actively participating in the yoga sessions, making the most of this opportunity. The free summer coaching camp offers a wide range of sports disciplines including yoga, athletics, boxing, basketball, cricket, ball badminton, football, badminton, swimming, table tennis, tennis, and volleyball. The platform is open to children of railway employees as well as residents of Visakhapatnam. Participants benefit from expert coaching and access to sophisticated sports facilities at the Waltair Railway Stadium. The initiative's primary objective is to nurture young talent, foster a spirit of sportsmanship and offer a platform for local youth to pursue excellence in sports at the national and international levels. Registration is currently open, with specific entry norms applicable for cricket, swimming, and tennis.
