USDA offers children free summer meals across Central Pennsylvania
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM)– Children in Pennsylvania can access free meals all summer at specific Midstate meal sites.
According to the Harrisburg School District, children 18 and under will be able to get free meals at participating meal sites this summer. The United States Department of Agriculture runs the annual Sun Meals initiative.
Approved meal site locations are uploaded to the Summer Site Finder beginning in May, according to the Harrisburg School District. Families can find meal sites near them here.
According to the USDA, meals and snacks must be eaten on site. The organization offers activities for kids to spend time together.
Some rural areas offer to-go meals.
