Day after Operation Mahadev, security forces launch massive search for three armed men
A massive search operation has been launched by security forces in the Hiranagar area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua after a woman reportedly saw three armed men on Monday night. The development comes a day after Indian forces killed three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack in an encounter near the Dachigam National Park in Srinagar. Srinagar senior superintendent of police GV Sundeep Chakravarty confirmed that the three terrorists were Pakistani nationals, belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba, and were killed in the Harwan area as part of Operation Mahadev on Monday afternoon. In Lok Sabha, Union home minister Amit Shah announced on Tuesday that one of the masterminds of the Pahalgam terror attack, Suleiman Shah, was among those killed in the gunfight. A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will examine the bodies of the three terrorists killed, as well as the electronic devices and weapons recovered from them. More on Operation Mahadev Operation Mahadev was launched on Monday following intelligence and technical surveillance pointing to terrorist movement in the region. The encounter began around 11am when a joint team of the 24 Rashtriya Rifles and 4 Para unit detected terrorist activity in the Mulnar area of Harwan. The operation was named after the 13,000-ft Mahadev mountain, the highest peak in the Zabarwan range, which is located near the Dachigam National Park and is known for its natural beauty and trekking trails.

Op Mahadev: 3 Pak terrorists neutralised in Dachigam forest encounter in Srinagar
Three Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists from Pakistan were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Harwan area near Dachigam National Park of Srinagar on Monday afternoon. Chinar Corps of the Indian Army posted on its official X account that Operation Mahadev is underway between Indian Army personnel and 'high-value foreign terrorists' in the dense Dachigam forest on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday. He, however, did not confirm if they had a role in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 people dead. 'We are identifying them and ascertaining that (their role in the Baisaran meadow), ' he said. Earlier, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army posted on its official X account that Operation Mahadev is underway between Indian Army personnel and 'high-value foreign terrorists' in the dense Dachigam forest. Along with the Indian Army, teams from the CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police are also involved in Operation Mahadev. Latest reports said that the security forces intercepted movement of the terrorists in the upper reaches of Dachigam forest. The bodies of the terrorists are being brought from the encounter spot. While there is no official word of their role in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, reports said that the terrorists were involved in major attacks on Indian soil. Defence sources said the encounter began at 11am. Drones had also been deployed for surveillance. The encounter took place hours before defence minister Rajnath Singh opened the discussion on Operation Sindoor, India's military response to the Pahalgam terror attack, in the Lok Sabha on Monday. He will be followed by external affairs minister S Jaishankar, BJP vice-president Baijayant Panda, and party MPs Tejaswi Surya, Sanjay Jaiswal, Anurag Thakur, and Kamaljeet Sehrawat. The opposition parties have been demanding a discussion on Operation Sindoor and raising questions over the government's action. Deputy leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, will lead the opposition's discussion. He will be aided by other Congress MPs, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Deepender Hooda, Praneet Shinde, Saptagiri Ulaka, and Bijendra Ola.

Operation Mahadev: Three LeT terrorist killed in encounter with security forces in J&K's Dara
Security forces on Monday launched a major anti-terror operation in the Lidwas area near Dara in Jammu and Kashmir, following inputs about suspected terrorist movement in the region. Operation Continues.' Defence sources said the encounter began at 11 AM. On the identity of the slain terrorists, SSP Srinagar GV Sundeep Chakravarty said that all three were Pakistani and belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). However, he did not confirm that they had a role in Pahalgam attack. 'We are identifying them and ascertaining that,' Chakravarty added. Earlier, the security forces updated when contact was established with suspected militants under the ongoing 'Operation Mahadev'. The Army said, "The operation is currently underway," adding that additional reinforcements have been deployed to support the action on the ground.
