NCS launches SGD $130 million programme to boost AI in Asia Pacific

NCS has announced a three-year SGD $130 million artificial intelligence (AI) transformation programme aimed at accelerating AI adoption across Asia Pacific. Strategy focus The initiative is structured around three core pillars: Intelligentisation, Internationalisation, and Inspiration. The investment will be directed towards implementing structured approaches to AI in organisations, deepening cross-border collaborations, and advancing workforces and communities through AI enablement. Ng Kuo Pin, Chief Executive Officer of NCS, said: "With AI reshaping industries as it becomes more accessible than before, we're partnering government agencies and enterprises to help them harness the best of AI not just for efficiency gains but to advance communities." He also noted: "Expanding our APAC footprint and doubling down on collaborations with technology leaders are still important in a bifurcated world. The investment we are making over the next three years and our blueprint anchored by three pillars - Intelligentisation, Internationalisation and Inspiration - will better enable our people and clients to create new business outcomes and build a resilient, innovative future with AI." Intelligentisation Within the Intelligentisation pillar, NCS is launching its proprietary suite of AI tools and accelerators designed to support developers, IT operations teams, and corporate users in developing intelligent solutions. The suite comprises an AI coding assistant, an AIOps platform for operational task automation, and offering day-to-day productivity tools. The company will also utilise proprietary frameworks, code libraries, and deployment toolkits aimed at mirroring functions such as perception, reasoning, decision-making, and action. This is supported by efforts to bolster digital resilience across areas including cybersecurity, data backbone, and infrastructure robustness. To drive its approach further, NCS has entered into a five-year Master Agreement with Singapore's HTX, supporting foundational data infrastructure, embedding AI such as Agentic AI into operational systems, adopting quantum-safe technologies, and scaling robotics capabilities across government agencies. In partnership with Singtel Group, NCS will work to embed AI as a strategic business capability, utilising the full portfolio of NCS AI solutions, including Generative AI, and Agentic AI accelerators, to drive operational transformation, optimise customer relationships, and enable autonomous networks. "Intelligentisation means treating AI as part of the enterprise's core nervous system, engineered with the same rigour, trust, and responsiveness demanded of mission-critical infrastructure," explained Kuo Pin. Internationalisation Internationalisation focuses on broadening capabilities and collaborations across different geographies and ecosystems. NCS announced its joint venture with Globe Telecom's technology unit, Yondu, in the Philippines, expanding its workforce by more than 1,200 technology professionals and further developing regional data foundation and management services. Globe Telecom and NCS are co-creating telecom-specific solutions for the Asia Pacific market. NCS has also entered into six new strategic partnerships with global technology providers AWS, Databricks, Dell Technologies, Google Cloud, NVIDIA, and Sunline. Deliverables from these collaborations include service offerings for finance, energy, and utilities using Databricks; rapid deployment of generative AI through AWS; scaling AI deployment with Dell Technologies; a joint team with Google Cloud to accelerate enterprise AI applications; three Agentic AI solutions in partnership with NVIDIA; and modernisation of core banking technology with Sunline. Inspiration The Inspiration pillar is centred on enhancing human capability through AI and supporting communities through skills development and ethical AI practices. NCS has provided AI enablement to over 10,000 employees through comprehensive training, professional certifications, and practical experience, including cloud platform certifications with AWS, Google, Microsoft, and NVIDIA. The company is also active in shaping the hyperlocal AI ecosystem, contributing to initiatives such as AI Singapore's SEA-LION and the MERaLiON Consortium to refine AI for Southeast Asian languages and regional use cases. In addition, NCS participates in the Infocomm Media Development Authority's AI Verify Foundation, supporting international standards for AI reliability, fairness, and robustness. Ng Kuo Pin said: "Intelligentisation is how we harness AI, Internationalisation is who we work with, and Inspiration is why we do this - to advance communities. This is central to NCS' purpose. We partner with governments and enterprises to harness the best of AI not just for efficiency gains, but to uplift people and advance communities."
