Super Bowl-Winning Coach Gets Name Dropped in New Lil Wayne Song
Super Bowl-Winning Coach Gets Name Dropped in New Lil Wayne Song originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Music fans likely all rushed to their devices on Friday, as Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil Wayne released what was the sixth of "Tha Carter" series. His 19-track album titled "Tha Carter VI" features from notable artists such as BigXthaPlug, MGK, Kodak Black and 2 Chainz among many others. The New Orleans rapper who many felt was snubbed from performing at this past year's Super Bowl LIX between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs in the Big Easy has always been known for being a lyrical genius. While he's a New Orleans native and a well-known Green Bay Packers fan, Wheezy shouted-out Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay in one of his new songs, "Welcome to Tha Carter." Shortly after name-dropping former NBA star Metta Sandiford-Artest formerly known as Metta World Peace and Ron Artest, Wayne threw in McVay's name while alluding to one of his (Wayne's) personal favorite hobbies. "Smokin' that bomb L.A. like I'm McVay," said Wayne. Aside from being a music icon, Wayne is a huge sports junkie. He has made appearances on ESPN's "First Take," Fox's "Undisputed," and even won an episode of the iconic ESPN show "Around the Horn." As for McVay and the Rams, they came up a couple of plays short of playing in the Super Bowl this past season, and are hoping that with a new addition like All-Pro receiver Davante Adams, they can rectify their shortcomings in 2025. While McVay is likely appreciative of the bar from Wayne, he is also presumably focused on the team's upcoming minicamp in Maui. The Rams open up preseason play on August 9 against the Dallas story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 6, 2025, where it first appeared.

Nation's No. 1 RB Names Top Six Schools, Reveals Commitment Date
There's no doubt that the rise of the transfer portal has altered the way many programs build up a roster, as in many cases it gives them a player who already has years of experience at the collegiate level. However, landing the top high school recruits is still extremely important to retain long-term success, and one of the names that many teams are trying to land is running back Ezavier Crowell out of Jackson, Alabama. Advertisement He, just like many players in the 2026 recruiting class, is starting to narrow down their options and make commitments, and on Thursday, Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported that Crowell will be making his decision on June 26. The final teams left are the Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, Auburn Tigers, Texas Longhorns, Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida State Seminoles. It's no shock that so many big-time programs are interested in his services, as Rivals places Crowell as a four-star recruit, the No. 1 running back, the No. 4 player in Alabama and the No. 41 player in the nation. In his two seasons at the varsity level for Jackson Aggies, he's been extremely impressive, appearing in 27 games, accumulating 3,701 yards and 56 touchdowns on 334 carries. Advertisement Crowell has also been an effective member of the passing game, racking up 20 receptions, 470 yards and six touchdowns. Raiders Called Out for 'Head-Scratching' Draft Pick
The Las Vegas Raiders have been praised at length for their performance in the 2025 NFL Draft. Many felt that new general manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll landed the perfect blend of Week 1 starters, solid depth pieces and players with elite traits who have plenty of upside to tap into. While the roster still needs tons of work, it is massively improved from last year's four-win team. The Raiders may not be a serious contender this season, but the new regime in Las Vegas is building the franchise the right way and positioning itself for a run in the coming years. Las Vegas Raiders WR Jack Bech (18).Andrew Dieb-Imagn Images Not every pick in the draft was considered a homerun, however. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler asserted that the Raiders' selection of TCU wideout Jack Bech in the second round was the most head-scratching move of the draft. Advertisement "Bech has the ball skills and competitiveness to make a quick impact on the Las Vegas offense, and the Raiders had a solid draft in Spytek's first year at the helm," Fowler wrote. "But several scouts from around the league -- even ones that really like Bech -- felt the second round was a bit high and the third round might have been a more sensible range." At the end of the day, it only really matters what the Las Vegas brass thought about Bech if they are the team that is selecting him. Besides the point is the fact that Bech was taken with the No. 58 pick, which is the end of the second round and just a few spots from the third round anyway. Based on his track record and toughness, everything that Las Vegas wants out of Bech should come to fruition. Bech has a great chance to be a Week 1 starter for the Raiders, and if he can produce as a rookie, all doubters of this pick will be silenced.
