Panthers agree to terms with DL Bobby Brown III

Panthers agree to terms with DL Bobby Brown III The Carolina Panthers have a clear prerogative to fix their defense. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the team has agreed to terms with former Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Bobby Brown III. Per ESPN's Jermey Fowler, the deal is a three-year, $21 million pact that can be worth up to $27 million. Brown III, a 2020 first-team All-SEC selection out of Texas A&M, was selected by the Rams in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft. He's gone on to amass 84 combined tackles (nine for a loss), half a sack, two quarterback hits and one pass defensed over four pro campaigns. The 24-year-old started in a career-high 16 games for Los Angeles this past season. At 6-foot-4 and 332 pounds, Brown III could end up as the starting nose tackle for the Panthers and defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero in 2025. Evero has already crossed paths with Brown III, when he was serving as the Rams' secondary coach and defensive passing game coordinator for their Super Bowl LVI-winning team in 2021. In addition to Brown III, the Panthers have also come to agreements on Monday with safety Tre'von Moehrig and outside linebacker Patrick Jones II. Former Rams C Brian Allen announces retirement

Former Rams center Brian Allen officially has retired, his agency announced. He has not played since 2023. 'One hell of a ride for Brian Allen. May the next chapter be the BEST chapter,' AMDG Sports said in a statement. Allen, 29, was the starting center for the Rams' Super Bowl LVI-winning team. The Rams made Allen a fourth-round pick in 2018, and he appeared in 50 games with 32 starts in five seasons. He signed with the Browns in May but went on injured reserve July 29 and the team cut him from injured reserve a few days later.
