Former Rams C Brian Allen announces retirement
Former Rams center Brian Allen officially has retired, his agency announced.
He has not played since 2023.
'One hell of a ride for Brian Allen. May the next chapter be the BEST chapter,' AMDG Sports said in a statement.
Allen, 29, was the starting center for the Rams' Super Bowl LVI-winning team.
The Rams made Allen a fourth-round pick in 2018, and he appeared in 50 games with 32 starts in five seasons.
He signed with the Browns in May but went on injured reserve July 29 and the team cut him from injured reserve a few days later.

Analyst Carter Bahns said of the Tigers: "Dabo Swinney is nearly seven years removed from his second national championship, but after a long stretch that saw his Clemson program slip from its pedestal, he has a behemoth of a 2025 roster that could get back to the mountaintop. Cade Klubnik might be college football's top quarterback after he improved throughout last season, and his stacked receiving corps will only help him reach the next level as a Heisman contender. Expected improvements on defense with Tom Allen taking over the unit will make the Tigers as well-rounded as anyone." Swinney brought in Allen to run the defense after heading up a Penn State unit that went 11-1 in the regular season and reached the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff in 2024. Allen will be tasked to improve a Clemson defense that, under Wes Goodwin, gave up an average of 374 yards per game (69th nationally). The Tigers went 10-4 last year and defeated SMU, 34-31, in a thrilling ACC Championship Game on a walk-off 56-yard Nolan Hauser field goal as time expired. They made the College Football Playoff for the first time in four years and were ranked No. 11 in the final US LBM Coaches Poll. Clemson's season opener against LSU will be in prime time at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ABC. John Harbaugh: Jon Gruden observed OTAs, gave us great insight
John Harbaugh welcomed another Super Bowl-winning head coach to Ravens OTAs this offseason. Former Buccaneers and Raiders head coach Jon Gruden observed the team's workouts on Thursday and Friday this week. Harbaugh said that Gruden's outside view provided the team with valuable information. 'He loves football, he's a great football coach, great football mind,' Harbaugh said, via the team's website. 'He studied our team, gave us some insight — players, coaches, schemes, all of it. We didn't give him the playbook, we didn't give him a script either. You can only go so far. He studied us. Basically, the message was, 'If I was game planning against you on defense, what would I do, how would I attack you?' He didn't just stop there. He watched our offensive guys. He had something for each player. Very, very detailed.' Gruden has been out of coaching since being resigning from the Raiders in 2021 in the wake of the release of offensive emails, but said earlier this year that he still hopes to return to the sideline. That may not happen, but the Ravens may still benefit from his acumen this season.
