ESPN adds second sideline reporter to 'MNF' teams
ESPN is adding a second voice to its 'Monday Night Football' broadcast teams for the 2025 season. The network said Tuesday that longtime NFL studio host and reporter Laura Rutledge will join Lisa Salters on the sidelines for all 20 games that feature Joe Buck and Troy Aikman in the booth. ESPN also announced a contract extension for Salters, who has been with ESPN and ABC since 2000 and will enter her 14th season on the 'Monday Night Football' broadcast. Rutledge signed an extension earlier this year, and she will continue to host 'NFL Live' and the Saturday morning show, 'SEC Nation.' The second ESPN crew also is gaining a pair of permanent sideline reporters -- Peter Schrager, previously a sideline reporter with Fox and NFL Network, and Katie George, who has been a top ESPN and ABC college football sideline reporter. They are joining the team of Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky and Louis Riddick on weeks when there are two Monday night games. ESPN is beginning to put all of its pieces in place as it prepares to host its first Super Bowl -- Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14, 2027. The 'Monday Night Football' season kicks off Sept. 8 when the Minnesota Vikings meet the Bears in Chicago, with the Buck-Aikman crew on the call. Both broadcast teams will be in action on Sept. 15, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans play the early game, followed by the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders. Laura Rutledge elevated to ESPN's lead ‘Monday Night Football' broadcast team
ESPN's 'Monday Night Football' will have a new look on its sidelines this season — longtime NFL host and reporter Laura Rutledge will join Lisa Salters as a permanent sideline reporter for all 20 Monday Night Football games that the top team of Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Salters will call this season. Advertisement The move sets up the on-air talent roster for what will be ESPN's most important live broadcast ever: Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027, the company's first-ever Super Bowl broadcast. Rutledge said on Tuesday that her 'NFL Live' duties will remain the same. Her Monday NFL Live show (3-5 p.m. ET) will now air from the site of Monday Night Football. She will continue hosting the show from the Bristol-based studio for the other days of the week. 'Monday Night Football is the pinnacle and it's always been a dream of mine,' Rutledge said. 'I still get chills every time I hear the MNF music. Really excited to continue to work as hard as possible to earn this role.' In an additional move, ESPN has added Katie George and Peter Schrager to its game coverage. George and Schrager will join Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky and Louis Riddick for five games, including the four weeks Monday Night Football has multiple games (Weeks 2, 4, 6 and 7). They will also be working a doubleheader Saturday in Week 18. George makes her NFL debut in Week 2 of the season. George now has assignments in the NFL, NBA and college football for ESPN. It seems clear management is setting her up for an extended run in these sports. ESPN also announced they have extended the contract of Salters, who is set to enter her 14th season and has been a reporter for ESPN and ABC since 2000. Rutledge signed a contract extension earlier this year and told The Athletic prior to her extension that her hope was to be on more big events. Today's news lands her on ESPN's most important property. 'One of the things that has become most important is just being on the biggest events, on the biggest games, hosting, reporting, doing whatever is asked, which I do,' Rutledge told The Athletic then. 'I enjoy being at those big events and being a part of that and also being a daily presence. So wherever that can happen, that's what's important to me. … This place has meant a lot to me. The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)/Metro Transit Center Station development in Los Angeles (LA), US, has opened following the completion of construction, aimed at connecting the LA Metro's C and K rail lines. The design of the station prioritises the integration of different transit options. The design is accentuated by spacious above-grade concourses with natural light and ground-level bus bays set within a landscaped public plaza. The station's design is also stated to embrace California's coastal climate, utilising passive features such as shading, natural daylighting, and ventilation. Sustainability has been a key focus of the station, which incorporates solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, infrastructure for future electric vehicle (EV) bus charging, and is targeting Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification. The development includes other public spaces designed to offer respite within the transit environment, with drought-tolerant native planting to increase biodiversity.
