Son of Super Bowl champion, Georgia DL names top schools

Four-star running back recruit Brayden Tyson has named his top eight schools. Tyson is a member of the class of 2027 and is a rising junior at Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia. Snellville has produced several legendary Georgia Bulldogs over the years including defensive end David Pollack and quarterback David Greene. However, neither player attended Brookwood. Brayden Tyson's top schools are Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Miami, Rutgers and Florida State. The 6-foot, 235-pound running back is ranked as the No. 159 player in the class of 2027. Tyson is the No. 13 running back in the country and the No. 23 prospect in Georgia. The elite running back prospect has recently visited Florida State, Texas, Miami and South Carolina. Tyson has a notable connection to Georgia. His father, DeAngelo Tyson, played defensive tackle at Georgia from 2008-2011. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL draft and helped the Baltimore Ravens win Super Bowl XLVIII over the San Francisco 49ers. Tyson could elect to blaze his own path like a couple of key Georgia legacies did in the class of 2026. Four-star linebacker Thomas Davis Jr. committed to Notre Dame and three-star edge rusher Kedric Golston II committed to Tennessee. Coach Kirby Smart and Georgia currently have two commitments in the class of 2027, but none at running back. The Dawgs typically sign two running backs per recruiting cycle and Tyson appears to be a key target for UGA. Follow UGAWire on Instagram or Threads!

What Eagles fans should know about the New York Giants before training camp begins

With mid-July fast approaching, we're looking at what Eagles fans should know about the New York Giants before training camp begins. The Eagles have one of the youngest teams in the NFL after several key departures and the retirement of Brandon Graham during the offseason. Such attrition provides the opportunity for younger players on the roster to assume larger roles while creating another Super Bowl window for a team that'll have new starters at several key defensive positions. Over the next two weeks, we will conduct mini-previews of four NFC East teams as they begin reporting for training camp, with the Giants' rookies set to report a week from Tuesday. Washington is next, with Philadelphia reporting on July 21 and Dallas reporting on July 22. With mid-July fast approaching, we're looking at what Eagles fans should know about the New York Giants before training camp begins. Giants' external free agency or trade additions this offseason: Lil'Jordan Humphrey, WR Victor Dimukeje, LB Jeremiah Ledbetter, DT Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, LB Greg Van Roten, G Stone Forsythe, OT Chauncey Golston, DE Jevon Holland, S The secondary will have a much different look this season with big-money additions in Holland and cornerback Paulson Adebo. Holland, 25, is a young, aggressive player known for being a good guy in the locker room. Chris Board, LB James Hudson III, OT Roy Robertson-Harris, DT Paulson Adebo, CB Adebo had 10 passes defended in just 262 coverage snaps last year before breaking a femur. He's just 25, which provides hope that he can continue to grow, and there's a chance he will develop into a true shutdown corner. QB Jameis Winston Winston is one of nine players in NFL history to throw for 5,000 yards in a season. He did so in 2019 when he became the first player in NFL history to pass for at least 450 yards in consecutive contests. QB Russell Wilson Wilson, 36, has started 199 regular-season games with the Seahawks (2012-21), Broncos (2022-23), and Steelers (2024). His 99.8 career passer rating ranks fifth in NFL history (minimum 1,500 pass attempts). Wilson is 121-77-1 as a starter in the regular season and 9-8 in the postseason, including two Super Bowl appearances. Wilson won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Seahawks, a 43-8 victory over the Broncos, at MetLife Stadium. LB VICTOR DIMUKEJE Dimukeje, 6-foot-2 and 262 pounds has played in 55 games with eight starts since being drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Defensively, Jevon Holland and Paulson Adebo are expected to be key players in the secondary. Will the Giants' free agency additions pan out? Jevon Holland, Russell Wilson, and Paulson Adebo were the big-name free-agent additions, and even with the Giants drafting Jaxson Dart in Round 1, Daboll's job status depends on the veteran quarterback. How did the Giants approach the 2025 NFL draft? The New York Giants had seven picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Here's a breakdown of their selections: Abdul Carter was considered one of the best players in the draft and will bolster the Giants' already strong defensive front. The Giants traded up to acquire Dart, a talented quarterback with potential as a franchise player. The Giants aimed to improve their defensive line depth with Darius Alexander, a good run defender. Cam Skattebo is a versatile running back, strong in the red zone and capable of breaking tackles. When does training camp for the New York Giants begin? The New York Giants 2025 training camp will begin with rookies reporting on July 15th and veterans on July 22nd, with the first open practice scheduled for July 23rd. The public will be able to reserve tickets starting July 10th. The team will hold 11 practices open to the public at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, NJ. The final open practice will be a joint practice with the New York Jets on Wednesday, August 13th.

MetLife Stadium named one of NFL's 10 most iconic venues

If you ask any tenured New York Giants or Jets fan, they'll tell you they prefer the old Giants Stadium over its successor, MetLife Stadium, when it comes to viewing a football game. The old stadium may have had fewer amenities, but it filled the bill when it came to focusing the crowd on the main reason they were in attendance: To enjoy a football game. That aside, the 80,000-plus-seat MetLife has become one of America's top venues for both sports and entertainment events. In a recent ranking from FOX Sports, MetLife Stadium checked in as the 10th most "iconic" of all NFL stadiums. New Jersey's MetLife Stadium — which opened in 2010, replacing Giants Stadium — is home to both the Giants and the Jets. The multipurpose stadium with a capacity of over 82,500 is located at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, which is set to host the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, just outside New York City. It doesn't help that the new Stadium has not had much in the way of high-profile games other than Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014. The Jets have yet to play a postseason game at MetLife, and the Giants have hosted just one - a 2011 Wild Card game against the Atlanta Falcons, a 24-2 victory.

Seahawks select offensive lineman in 2014 NFL redraft

2. Rams - Mike Evans4. Browns - Khalil MackRedrafting the 2014 NFL Draft using PFF grades and data 📊 The Seattle Seahawks did make a first-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft. The Seahawks were fresh off capturing their first championship in the franchise's 38 years history after defeating the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. GM John Schneider traded the No. 32 overall selection in the follow-up draft to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Minnesota's second-and-fourth round picks (40th &108th). Seattle then traded down again, from No. 40 to 45, and made wide receiver Paul Richardson their first selection of the 2014 NFL draft. That proved to be a mistake. Richardson endured a disappointing four-year career with the Seahawks. After a teasing breakout campaign in 2017, the final year of his rookie contract, he signed a lucrative deal with Washington in free agency (and went on to disappoint again). The 2014 draft was a disappointing one for the Seahawks in general. Joining Richardson as the franchise's other top-100 pick was offensive tackle Justin Britt. Cassius Marsh and Kevin Norwood were among the other selections in the class. Remember them? As we all anxiously await training camp to start, Pro Football Focus recently conducted a 2014 NFL redraft. Always a fun exercise, PFF has the Seahawks keeping the 32nd pick this time around. They land offensive guard Trai Turner, who was actually taken in the third round. "Five-time Pro Bowler Trai Turner rounds out this redraft due to his solid stretch of play in Carolina, where he spent his first six seasons," PFF wrote. "Turner earned a 76.3 PFF overall grade in that span while contributing to some of the best Panthers teams in recent memory. Turner's best season came amid the Panthers' Super Bowl run in 2015, when he ranked as a top-eight guard in the NFL in PFF overall grade and PFF pass-blocking grade." Considering the offensive line struggles the Seahawks would encounter, Turner would have been a far better selection.

This is what has appeared to happen between former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and retired legendary safety Earl Thomas. Once one of the most trusted coach-player pairings in the NFL, they led Seattle Seahawks' defense through arguably its best seasons. But now, Pete Carroll has said something that surprised many fans. Pete Carroll said, 'I still love Earl. He doesn't love me.' This simple but emotional quote quickly made headlines. Earl Thomas played for the Seahawks from 2010 till 2018. Part of the renowned "Legion of Boom" defense, he helped the team win Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014. However, things ended on a rough note. During a game in 2018, Earl Thomas broke his leg and, while being carted off the field, was seen giving the middle finger toward the Seattle Seahawks' sideline—something many believe was directed at Pete Carroll.
