Seahawks all-time record vs NFC South: updated for 2025
Seahawks all-time record vs NFC South: updated for 2025 For the past two years, we at Seahawks Wire have been tracking the Seattle Seahawks' all-time records against every team in the NFL. It is important, we feel, to keep an updated log of Seattle's history and how they stack up with other squads in the league. We are resuming this ongoing series with updated records headed into the 2025 season. We began our recent trip down memory lane with the Seahawks' records against the NFC West. Since Seattle is paired to go against the NFC South this year, it is only fitting we continue with those teams. The last time the Seahawks had to face all four teams in the NFC South was during the 2022 season. Seattle was also paired with the NFC South during their 2013 Super Bowl championship campaign. All-time record: Seattle leads the series 13-9 Regular season : Seattle leads the series 13-7 : Seattle leads the series 13-7 Postseason: Atlanta is 2-0 against Seattle in the playoffs Longest win streak: the Seahawks and Falcons have both won four-straight games against one another, which is the longest in the series. However, Seattle has done so twice, from November 1976 to October 1988, and December 2000 to September 2005. Most recent outcome: October 20th, 2024 - Seahawks take care of business easily against the Falcons in a dominating 34-14 win in Atlanta to snap a three-game losing streak. Seattle intercepted Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins twice, and forced a fumble, which was returned 36-yards by Derick Hall for a touchdown. All-time record: Seattle leads the series 11-5 Regular season : Seattle leads the series 9-4 : Seattle leads the series 9-4 Postseason: Seattle holds a 2-1 record against Carolina in the playoffs Longest win streak: Seattle, five-straight from December 2010 through January 2015. Most recent outcome: September 24th, 2023 - the Seahawks honor the 10th anniversary of their Super Bowl XLVIII winning squad at home against the team they opened the 2013 season against with a 37-27 win over the Panthers. It was the first time in franchise history the Seahawks chose to wear their white jerseys at home, making them the last team in the NFL to do so. All-time record: New Orleans leads the series 10-8 Regular season : New Orleans leads the series 10-6 : New Orleans leads the series 10-6 Postseason: Seattle is 2-0 over New Orleans in the playoffs Longest win streak: New Orleans is currently on a four-game win streak, which is the longest by either team in the series. This streak began in October 2016 and is still active. Most recent outcome: October 9th, 2022 - Seattle's defense cannot slow the Saints down, as they are outgunned 39-32 in the Superdome to lose their fourth-straight meeting against New Orleans. All-time record: Seattle leads the series 9-6 Regular season : Seattle leads the series 9-6 : Seattle leads the series 9-6 Postseason: N/A Longest win streak: Seattle won the first four-straight meetings between these teams from October 1976 to September 1996. It remains the longest streak by either team. Most recent outcome: November 13th, 2022 - in the NFL's first international game in Germany, the Seahawks fell to Tom Brady's Buccaneers 21-16 in a sluggish defensive affair. Tampa led 14-0 at half and led 21-3 in the fourth quarter, but Seattle did mount a comeback attempt, which included then-rookie cornerback Riq Woolen intercepting a pass intended for Tom Brady on a trick play. Unfortunately, the Seahawks could not get one final stop on defense and the Bucs drained the clock to end the game.

Russell Wilson: I fundamentally believe it's possible to succeed at the highest level again
Russell Wilson is in his first season with the Giants, but he's no stranger to his new home stadium. MetLife Stadium was the site of Super Bowl XLVIII and Wilson led the Seahawks to a 43-8 win over the Broncos in that game. During an appearance on 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony, Wilson said that the chance to return to the scene of that accomplishment and the chance to help bring the Giants out of the doldrums convinced him that this was the right spot for the next chapter of his career. 'The opportunity here is so great,' Wilson said. 'I don't mind the lights. I don't mind that part of it. I think the other part of it for me, most importantly of it all that, is I've been here before. When you walk into a stadium, into a locker room and you know, like my locker is the same locker I had when I won the Super Bowl. So, for me, when I see that, when I walk into the stadium I'm like, 'I've been here before.' Not just been here but, like, we did this before. So, I fundamentally believe it's possible again in terms of being successful again and being at the highest level.' Wilson's belief that the Giants have the 'right guys' to make that happen are unlikely to find much support right now, but a strong start against a tough early schedule — at Washington and Dallas before home games against the Chiefs and Chargers — would rally some people to his side before October.

Russell Wilson says this 'superstar' factored into decision to sign with New York Giants
Russell Wilson says this 'superstar' factored into decision to sign with New York Giants Russell Wilson is back in New York, the place where he won a Super Bowl in 2014 and where he got to live out his dream of being a Major League Baseball player. This time, Wilson is coming in as the quarterback of the New York Giants, but he has always felt he's a strong connection to the largest city in America. He loves it here, even if he might not be here after this season. Wilson and his wife, recording artist Ciara, have been seen about town since he inked the one-year deal with Big Blue that could potentially net him over $21 million. "Just the enthusiasm, man. Just the enthusiasm around the city, walking around in the streets of New York or going to the games or whatever it may be," Wilson said on this week's episode of 7PM in Brooklyn, hosted by NBA legend, Carmelo Anthony. "I've been a Yankee before, I'm still in the Yankees organization, technically still Yankee… It's like no matter how great you are, how great things have been for you, no matter how tough it's been, no matter what's going on in your personal life, no matter what's going on, this and that, at the end of the day, man, the ball heals everything. "Winning heals all wounds. So that's what we're focused on is just the winning process and just doing that and just being successful and being focused on the process of winning. It's not just, obviously the W at the end matters. We can't control that right now, but what we can control is how we go about our business and our focus and bringing a championship mentality and work ethic daily. And that's the presence that I always want to bring." Wilson won Super Bowl XLVIII as the quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks after the 2014 season. The Seahawks walloped the Denver Broncos, 43-8, at MetLife Stadium. Four years later, Wilson, a former draft choice of the Colorado Rockies and farmhand of the Texas Rangers, was invited to spring training by the New York Yankees. He batted in a Grapefruit League game as a pinch hitter for some guy named Aaron Judge. Facing Max Freid of the Atlanta Braves, Wilson struck out on five pitches. Wilson will be the Giants' quarterback come the opening kickoff in September. The 10-time Pro Bowler will be under some pressure and will have to show results. He has Jameis Winston and rookie Jaxson Dart breathing down his neck on the sidelines. Wilson has been long connected to the Giants but the two sides couldn't make it fit until this year. After two seasons in Denver, Wilson landed in Pittsburgh last year with the Steelers. This spring, he and Giants made it work. The usually exuberant Wilson is enthusiastic about meeting the challenges of playing in New York and helping turn the Giants back into contenders. 'New York and this opportunity here to play here, the world's biggest market, the toughest, one of the toughest divisions in football... a lot of odds against you," he told Anthony, who as a former New York Knick, knows plenty about playing under pressure in the Big Apple. 'I just turned on the film and watching this guy Malik Nabers, man, this dude's a superstar. I saw him, I was watching the film and just before I tried to make decisions, try to get a clear understanding of who the players are, this and that, and obviously you see the highlights and everything else, but when you watch every single catch and every single rep and every play, you get to see the kind of player he is, man, he's dynamic. He touches that football, he gone. "I really liked [Brian] Daboll, too. Obviously watching Dabes over the years, the guy who was a coach of the year, I dunno, two, three years ago, brilliant mind spending time with him actually came out here last year before I signed with Pittsburgh last time too and I just had a great appreciation of his mind for the game and how he saw the game.' If you're wondering if any man ever played in a game for both the Yankees and the football Giants, we found the answer. Wilson will be just the second to wear the uniform of both iconic franchises. The only other was Hinkey Haines, who was a reserve outfielder on the Yankees' world championship team of 1923 before turning to football where he played halfback for four seasons and was a member of Big Blue's 1927 NFL Championship club.

Watch highlights of Demaryius Thomas' best plays with the Broncos
Watch highlights of Demaryius Thomas' best plays with the Broncos Demaryius Thomas was, without question, one of the greatest wide receivers in Denver Broncos history. Statistically, he only trails Rod Smith on the team's all-time receiving list for yards (9,055) and touchdowns (60). He also holds franchise records for the most 100-yard games (33) and the most postseason receptions (53). Although it came in a losing effort, he also set a then-record with 13 receptions in Super Bowl XLVIII, and he scored Denver's only touchdown in that game. That record has since been broken by James White (14 receptions in Super Bowl LI), but DT was probably even prouder of his Super Bowl 50 ring that came two seasons after the record-setting loss in Super Bowl XLVIII. Following the receiver's election to the Broncos Ring of Fame, here are highlights from his time in Denver: Still looking for more? The NFL has 33 minutes of highlights on its YouTube page: The Broncos also shared mic'd up footage of Thomas on their Twitter/X page: One of the greatest in franchise history. LLDT. Demaryius Thomas elected to Broncos' Ring of Fame
The Denver Broncos will honor one of the franchise's best receivers, Demaryius Thomas, this year. The team announced Tuesday that the late "DT" has been elected to the team's Ring of Fame. Advertisement Thomas was a hallmark of the Broncos during his career. Selected 22nd overall in the 2010 NFL draft out of Georgia Tech, Thomas began his career quietly in Denver. In 2010, Thomas only had 22 receptions for 283 yards and two touchdowns. In 2011, Thomas started to make a bigger impact as the Broncos mired through quarterback controversy early in the season between then-starter Kyle Orton and fan favorite Tim Tebow. As Denver marched towards a playoff berth in 2011, Thomas made one of the most memorable plays in franchise, and arguably, NFL history. Against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs, Thomas caught a pass from Tebow that went 80 yards for a touchdown, ending the first overtime playoff game under the new format. Thomas's next four years would mark the best years of his career, as he caught passes from Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning. Thomas became the bona fide No. 1 receiver for Manning, leading the team in receptions from 2012-2017. Thomas led the Broncos in touchdowns in the 2013 season (14) when Denver had the most prolific offensive season in NFL history. Thomas set a Super Bowl record for most targets (19) in Super Bowl XLVIII's blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He caught 13 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. Thomas finally earned a Super Bowl ring with the Broncos in Super Bowl 50, catching only one pass for eight yards in the win over the Carolina Panthers. Advertisement Thomas helped fill the void at receiver after Manning's retirement prior to the 2016 season. In 2018, Thomas was traded mid-season to the Houston Texans, as rookie Courtland Sutton began to emerge as another top target in the Broncos offense. Thomas, ironically, helped Houston beat Denver in Week 9 of the 2018 season after the trade. Thomas only played one more year in the NFL after the trade, this time with the New York Jets, where he only caught 36 passes for 433 yards and one touchdown. Thomas finally hung up his cleats in June 2019, as a Bronco. After his retirement, it seemed like life would go on quietly for Thomas, until tragedy struck in 2021. Thomas was found dead at age 33 in his Atlanta, Georgia home on December 9, 2021 of an apparent seizure. Thomas's death stunned all, and the Broncos gave touching tributes in his honor the rest of that season. Thomas has a place in nearly every Broncos' fan's mind and heart. His place in team history is also on display yearly as his name is on the team's MVP award.
