Metro Boomin expresses desire to create WWE entrance themes: Fans urge Triple H to respond
Image via Instagram/metroboomin Wrestling world urges Triple H to call Metro BoominRenowned music producer Metro Boomin, best known for chart-topping collaborations with artists like The Weeknd, Drake, and Future, is now setting his sights on a new arena - the squared circle. In a recent post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Metro expressed his interest in producing entrance themes for WWE Superstars, calling it a "lifelong goal." Metro Boomin's WWE connection runs deep While the idea may sound novel to some, Metro Boomin's association with WWE isn't new. The producer was involved in promotional content for WWE Bad Blood 2024, including the event's cold open featuring Cody Rhodes. He was also spotted during WrestleMania 41 weekend in Las Vegas, where he performed at the 'WrestleMania After Dark' event and attended the live show. Metro's tweet, posted on May 28, 2025, read: 'Would love to produce some WWE entrance themes. It's a lifelong goal of mine 👀' The message quickly gained traction online, with wrestling and hip-hop fans alike calling on WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, to make it happen. Wrestling world urges Triple H to call Metro Boomin The tweet sparked a wave of support. One fan wrote, '@TripleH pick up the phone, we need to talk,' while another urged, 'Please save us bro,' referring to criticism directed at WWE's current music producers, Def Rebel. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Multiple users echoed the sentiment that WWE's entrance music has lacked the spark it once had, and that Metro Boomin's signature dark and cinematic sound could reinvigorate Superstar presentations. Interestingly, some fans even floated the idea of Metro working with AEW or other wrestling promotions if WWE doesn't take him up on the offer. Others speculated about which Superstar would benefit the most from a Metro-produced track, with names like Seth Rollins, John Cena, and Giulia thrown into the mix. With WWE currently undergoing creative shifts under the leadership of Triple H and TKO Group Holdings, many believe the timing is perfect for fresh musical direction. Metro Boomin's entry into wrestling could also signal a return to the days when popular musicians contributed to iconic themes, much like Motörhead did for Triple H or Snoop Dogg for Sasha Banks. As of now, there's been no official response from WWE. But with the buzz around Metro's tweet gaining momentum, fans are hopeful the company will consider letting the acclaimed producer cook - this time, with entrance music that hits just as hard as his chart-topping beats. This marked a notable public event for her since her time with WWE ended. Irvin shared on her social media that she briefly paused her break from announcing duties. She did this for one memorable night only: to introduce the legendary musician Stevie Wonder. This special introduction took place at the second annual Silver and Black Gala, a prestigious event hosted by the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. Speaking about this unique experience at the gala, she posted her feelings online. "Came out of retirement for an evening to introduce the GENIUS that is Stevie Wonder! What a surreal, once in a lifetime experience." She also made sure to thank the event organizers for the special evening and its cause. "Thank you @raiders, The Raiders Foundation, & @themarc85 for having me, and for a WONDERful evening to support Mental Health," Irvin wrote on her Instagram. Many fans praised Irvin for her passionate and energetic style of announcing matches and Superstars. They also loved her cheerful and very engaging personality whenever she was on screen. Irvin herself has previously teased that she would consider a comeback to the wrestling industry. However, she has made it clear this would likely not be as an announcer. Instead, she might be interested in taking on a different kind of role, possibly as a manager for wrestling talent, allowing her to use her on-screen charisma in a new way. It will certainly be interesting for wrestling fans to see if Irvin does make a return and take on a new creative role within wrestling down the road. She has already clearly shown that she is a great and captivating on-screen personality, and a managerial role could be a fantastic fit for her many talents. Review – Superman: Action Comics #1086 – Battle in the Frost
Superman: Action Comics #1086 cover, via DC Comics. Ray: Superman: Superstars wraps up this month, with Mark Waid and Skylar Partridge taking us back to Smallville for a new era next month. But before that, G. Willow Wilson and Gavin Guidry are giving us a throwback story as Superman heads to the Arctic to take on a villain we haven't seen in a very long time – the sinister AI Kilg%ore, a killer robot with a deep contempt for humanity but a much more opportunistic approach to things than Brainiac usually has. He's been attacking the research base Clark Kent is visiting for an assignment, with mind-controlled polar bears leading the charge. And as Superman confronts the villain, Kilg%re tries to get him on board for an unlikely plan – to take advantage of climate change to profit on it, and turn the entire polar region into a new base for the evil robot's new power base. Well, it's an original plan, but I can't say he's really thought through his recruitment plan much. Standoff. Via DC Comics. This is very much a retro tale, even though it takes place relatively close to modern continuity. That's partially because of the very campy villain, but it's also characterization-based – it's been a long time since we saw a story run so heavily on the trope of Clark Kent as a milquetoast weakling who is disregarded by everyone around him. It's definitely funny in a few places, and makes it easier for Clark to sneak around unnoticed, but it feels a bit like a relic of the silver age. The dialogue is also a bit oddly casual in places, such as Superman making a snarky comment about rooting for orcas to sink yachts. The old-school style has some fun elements, though – where else could you see mind-controlled orcas taking down the polar ice caps? It's a fun, quick read, but it doesn't quite have the ambition of the other Superstars arcs. Still, as someone who grew up during the Triangle Era of Superman comics, it was a lot of fun to see some of these plot threads again. To find reviews of all the DC issues, visit DC This Week. Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade React To Report They Were Released By WWE For Being Lazy
It's fair to say that Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade do not agree with what some are saying about their WWE releases. Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade were two of the multiple WWE Superstars to be released by WWE on May 1. In a follow-up report, Dave Meltzer shared feedback provided to him by a source inside WWE. This source claimed many of the cuts were due to talent who were viewed as 'not working hard in training.' Advertisement 'Many of those cuts were perceived as not working hard in training. And if you don't work hard in training, there's so many people who do. And at this point, if the feeling is you're not working hard in training – I saw the term 'lazy' – the ones who are lazy are gonna be gone, and the ones who didn't stand out are gonna be gone,' Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio. Gigi Dolin doesn't want to ever hear someone say she didn't work hard enough Gigi Dolin took issue with this view, reacting to an aggregated quote of Meltzer's with the following response: 'When I wasn't traveling to work for either of the two companies I was working for, I trained very hard 3-4 days a week. Bumping my ass off and doing cardio drills with one of the best/toughest coaches I've worked with,' she wrote. 'And worked out every single day. With live events every other weekend. So yeah I don't wanna hear this lol. The way my body feels says otherwise.' Advertisement Cora Jade also replied to Dolin's post, claiming she was still body-shamed despite all of the hard work they had put in. 'This, plus can't forget having to go to my own gym outside of work after 'strength and conditioning' that wasn't doing anything for me other than get me body shamed by my bosses, coworkers, and fans crazy!' Cora wrote. Gigi Dolin will once again use her 'Priscilla Kelly' name when her WWE non-compete clause ends. Cora Jade will be using her 'Elayna Black' name she used before WWE. Former WWE Talent Reportedly Signs With AEW
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. AEW has picked up an interesting hire. The promotion has brought in a name that WWE and TNA Wrestling fans may be familiar with. Veteran wrestling broadcaster and producer Josh Mathews has landed a new role with All Elite Wrestling, as confirmed by This move comes just a few months after he departed from TNA Wrestling earlier this year. According to the report, Mathews is now contributing to AEW's behind-the-scenes operations. He has been working in the production trucks lately, helping to facilitate communication between the production team and the coaches/producers. This position leverages his extensive experience over two decades across major wrestling promotions in various capacities, both on-screen and off. Mathews, whose real name is Josh Lomberger, entered the wrestling consciousness as a standout participant and runner-up on the inaugural season of WWE's reality competition show, Tough Enough, in 2001. Although he didn't win the competition, WWE hired him, launching a lengthy career with the company until 2014. Mathews became a familiar face to fans during his thirteen years with WWE through multiple roles. He served as a primary backstage interviewer, most notably on the SmackDown brand. He was a versatile commentator and announcer, calling the action for shows including Velocity, the revived ECW brand, NXT during its early phases, Superstars, Saturday Morning Slam, and Main Event. While primarily known for his broadcasting work, Mathews even had a brief, undefeated run competing in the ring in 2004, notably teaming with Booker T. Following his release from WWE in June 2014, Mathews quickly found a new home with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), later rebranding as Impact Wrestling. He made an immediate impact, taking over as the lead play-by-play commentator for their flagship show, Impact Wrestling, in January 2015. More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation This was a significant transition, as he replaced Mike Tenay, who had been the voice of the promotion for many years. Mathews remained in the lead announcer chair for several years, sharing commentary duties with partners like Taz and D'Angelo Dinero. Around 2021, Mathews transitioned away from full-time commentary duties within TNA/Impact and moved into crucial backstage positions. He took on significant responsibilities as the company's Senior Producer and later added the title of Senior Director of Digital Media. After nearly a decade contributing to TNA both on-air and behind the scenes, Mathews departed the company in February 2025 amidst organizational changes. His arrival at AEW now adds another experienced hand to their growing production team. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
